"Have you had your bone marrow yet?" Jetfire gently reminded Sparrowkit as she tried to race out of the nursery without eating once again. She had eaten plenty of milk, but the young kit needed to also eat bone marrow in order to have enough energy to go and play with the others. Sparrowkit was just so full of energy and life, that she often times forgot to eat. The bone marrow was helpful but it wasn't a complete solution, the bigger she got the more that she needed to eat to keep her energy levels up. It was also hard to constantly give the young she-kit reminders when she had to help her siblings and try and rest herself
Ghostcrown grinned, guessing he already knew the answer to that question. While he was still getting to know all of the young kits, it was easy to guess that Sparrowkit had forgotten her marrow again. She was an absentminded kit, easily distracted, but weren't they all at that age? He honestly had no idea, his kits were older by the time he met them.

Sparrowkit had to be sneaky. If she didn't make a sound, she wouldn't wake up her mom or her other siblings that had been resting. Her mom needed the rest, she had heard Firetooth say so and he was the medicine cat so he knew everything! Besides, she hadn't been sleepy at all! She wanted to go play in the camp and help the apprentices! Or the warriors. Maybe even Firetooth! It all depended on who she found first! The little kit hadn't thought her mother or Ghostcrown would notice. Not until her mother called out to her. Sparrowkit froze, her tail flying straight up into the air and her ears pinning back against her head. She had been caught.
"But mom!" Sparrowkit mewed as she turned around, looking up at her mother with a sheepish grin. "I already had lots of milk...! Do I still need to eat the bone marrow if I had milk?"
"Yes, Sparrowkit. Don't forget that you'll faint otherwise." Firetooth let out a fond purr as he entered the Nursery, setting down a mouthful of chamomile and hornbeam down in front of where Jetfire was curled up in her nest. Though it wasn't obvious just by watching Firetooth day-to-day, cats who were well-acquainted with the Medicine Cat could tell that Sparrowkit was his favorite of Jetfire's litter. His job forced him to stay impartial though, as all of the kits needed the same level of attentive care, but even he couldn't resist Sparrowkit's boundless energy and optimism. "Everybody in the Nursery needs to take their herbs, and that includes you."

"You heard Firetooth" she chuckled, knowing that Sparrowkit had been caught once again not eating the way she was supposed to "Milk isn't enough for your body, you need the bone marrow. Once your done you can go and play, promise" Everyone in SwiftClan had been good about helping her keep an eye on her which helped when she was supposed to be resting and all they wanted to do was play "We can see if a few of the apprentices will teach you some of what they are learning so that you can start practicing" she purred. Even though she hated to admit it, they were growing up fast and she wouldn't be able to keep them in the nursery forever. At least this way if something happened she was still close by instead of out in the territory. Starting off with a bit o light exercise might be good for her in the long run

"Firetooth!" Sparrowkit squealed, practically running towards him and swerving between his paws. The little kit shook in excitement once the medicine cat arrived, and she couldn't contain her joy. "Will you help me crack the bone for the bone marrow? I'm still too little! I can't do it by myself, and mama needs her rest and I don't want to bother everyone else with it! Oh, maybe you can show me how to do that? Mama, can Firetooth show me how to crack the bones open? And then I'll eat all the bone marrow there is so I can go play, I promise!"

Jetfire chuckled, tucking her paws underneath herself “Of course, if Firetooth has the time to teach you right now, he is a very busy cat” there wasn’t many cats that Jetfire trusted with her kits but Firetooth was one of them. Most of her kits got along rather well with him and if something happened he had the knowledge to treat them.(sorry it’s short on mobile)
Ghostcrown shook his head as Sparrowkit completely ignored her mother, too focused on the arrival of the medicine cat. All of the kittens seemed to adore Firetooth - well, most of them, Grumpykit being an exception - and he couldn't blame them. The fire-coated tom had changed a lot since they were growing up together, he was almost happy now.
"For what it's worth, I think your idea was great," he murmured to Jetfire with a half-smirk. "The apprentices would have loved spending time with her."
Firetooth let out an exasperated snort as Sparrowkit weaved around him and rubbed up against his front legs, trying his best to look annoyed but being unable to hide the amused gaze he shared between Jetfire and his brother. "Sure, sure," he finally conceded, playfully rolling his eyes. "I guess I can help you crack open the bone for your marrow. But only if you promise to eat the whole thing before you go out to play, promise?"

Sparrowkit’s tail shot straight up in the air as she smiled brightly at him. “Oh, I promise Firetooth! I’ll eat all of it! Every last bit!” The little kit shook with excitement as she spoke, unable to keep still now. “Do you have a bone with you? Do we have to go get one? Oh! Does that mean you’ll teach me how to hunt! I can still hunt right? I think I can do it! I can be really sneaky if I tried! I nearly jumped onto Ghostcrown’s tail, but I tripped over the moss... but I nearly had it and I don’t think he knew I was there!”
Sparrowkit's line of questioning sent Firetooth into a slight panic, not sure how exactly to explain to his adoring little fan that as a Medicine Cat, he didn't know how to hunt either. While most cats weren't aware of it, it was still a fact he was honestly slightly ashamed of. "Hunting is for apprentices, Sparrowkit," he answered instead. "Apprentices with full bellies so that they won't pass out while chasing down prey. Come on, I think there's some left over bones on the fresh-kill pile." Gesturing with his tail, he turned to exit the den, only stopping to glance over his shoulder at the kit with a playful smile. "And if you're well-behaved, I'm certain Ghostcrown would be happy to teach you the basic hunting crouch."

“But I’ll get better eventually! I won’t always feel this sick!” Sparrowkit chirped, still far to naive about her sickness and the fact that it will stay with her for the rest of her life. “And then I’ll be the bestest apprentice ever! I’ll bring you and mom and everyone the best prey! I won’t pass out, silly!” She giggled. Sparrowkit quickly bounced over to Jetfire, and pressed her nose against her cheek. “I’ll be right back mom! Firetooth is going to show me how to get the bone marrow! And then I’ll be able to do it all on my own!” The metallic colored quickly quickly turned back to the medicine cat, practically racing out of the den. She only stopped at the entrance to turn back and look at him. “Come on Firetooth! I want start practicing my hunting crouch!”
