Plot: Ravenpaw is getting a lesson in how to be a proper guard while on guard duty with Frostcloud. Frigidpaw just happens to be the subject in question. Frigidpaw - pao, Frostcloud - Spot, Ravenpaw - strawberrycupid
Frigidpaw was crying, again. It wasn't really a new thing for he was pretty soft hearted, but honestly, teh tom should be used to life in the prison by now. He'd murdered a fellow student moons ago, but the guilt still haunted him. In all reality, it'd been an accident. The tom suffers from bipolar and in the moment, he'd been having a manic day and hadn't been thinking clearly when he attacked the cat he thought was a trespasser when in realty it was Espressopaw just hunting close to their border. The attack had been a deadly one, straight to the neck, even though Frigidpaw had planned for it to be a warning shot. He'd over reacted and for such a thing, he was now faced with life in this prison cell.
Frostcloud pinned her ears back, trying her best to ignore the crying. She was suppose to teach Ravenpaw how to be a good guard but Frigidpaw was making it extremely difficult. "I don't think I've ever had such a whiny prisoner before." She growled, turning a glare at Frigidpaw.

Ravenpaw stared at Frigidpaw absentmindedly. Like she did most things. Being a prison guard wasn't the best idea since she would most likely zone out while the prisoners escaped. But that really wasn't on her mind right now. She was only just promoted, and she thought about those great black birds she saw in the sky. She hoped to see them again as Frostcloud growled next to her. Light gaze moving over to Frigidpaw, she placed her paw on the walls of the cell. "Whatever happened. You gotta let it go. Like a bird on the wind." Her voice quiet, dreamlike.
How did one let go of murder? Forgive oneself for it? He only cried harder at the thought, miserable as always. The orang and white tom paused in his wailing only to start crying harder. This usually lead to him not getting feed or smacked to shut up, so really he shouldn't be surprised by Frostcloud's aggravation towards him. Hopefully today would be one of the days that Frevidsummer was able to come visit, those usually turned the poor tom's mood around. His dear sweet older sister was a blessing and she always managed to calm him down and it would last a few days. It was probably the only reason she was still allowed to come and visit him since that wasn't usually allowed for prisoners.

"Well, I tried." Ravenpaw, seemingly satisfied with her piss poor attempt, turned away from the cell and sat down. To her, there was nothing else that could be done. And if there was, she was too far gone in her own mind to think of it.

Ravenpaw let out a yawn, eyes glazed over as she stared at some dark corner of the prison she wasn't even processing. Frostcloud had gone quiet, so she figured this was it. Tuning out the wailing was better than making her listen to it.
Frostcloud had enough of the whining. "Watch him for a moment." She hissed, pinning her ears back before taking off out of sight. She returned a few moments later with vine and a ball of moss. She marched over to the pit and jumped down, pinning Frigidpaw to the ground. She wrapped the twine around the ball of moss before shoving it in his mouth and tying the ends behind his ears so that it worked as a gag. "That ought to shut you up!" She growled, climbing out of the pit. "Just so you know, if a prisoner is too dangerous, or in this case just plain annoying, we have restraints. Snowbunny showed me how to properly restrain a prisoner." She spoke to Ravenpaw, giving her tips on being a guard.

(it's all good)
Ravenpaw laid down at the edge, watching him as she started to zone out again. The red form of the other apprentice transformed into a blob, then the sun, then a cloud in the sky eclipsing the sun, then back to a blob. She blinked as Frostcloud came back, jumping down the pit and watching her gag the apprentice. Ravenpaw didn't offer any help for either. It was usually better that way. She tried tying knots like that and always ended up with her paws tied together. "Okay." She nodded, taking a step back, her moments of mercy long gone.
Frigidpaw just cried harder though this time it was muffled by the gag now in his mouth. This wasn't his first time being gaged for this reason, but it never made him stop and only caused him to cry harder at his misfortune, especially when he was in a manic mood. Which he was in now, and thus began to thrash at teh idea of being confined and restrained even more. His body buzzed with teh need to express himself and to move, to not stop moving and yet now he had too.
"Oh shut up, Frigidpaw! Your such a baby!" Frostcloud hissed before turning back to Ravenpaw. "I'll use the extra twine on you to show you how it's done." She wrapped Ravenpaw's paws together with the extra twine and slowly tied it into a perfect knot so that Ravenpaw could see how it was done. She then untied Ravenpaw's paws and handed her the twine. "Do you wish to practice that on me? A restrained cat is a vulnerable cat. This is an important lesson in training to be a guard."

Ravenpaw watched Frostcloud tie her paws, unable to help rubbing her wrist against the harsh twine. It sent an unpleasant sensation up her spine, rough where she could already imagine it digging into her skin to open up festering wounds. But as soon as the thought crossed her mind, Frostcloud was already untying them. Ravenpaw seemed to have completely tuned out Frigidpaw as she took the twine into her paws. Pulling it, feeling it's resistance against itself, she wrapped it around Frostcloud's paws. It was mostly the same knot she had made, though Raven had twisted it here and there, adding extra loops and the like. But it held. She blinked, judging the messy knot for a moment before beginning to untie it.
Frigidpaw rolled around on the ground, trying and failing to get lose. His cries were dying down slowly, but not as quick as one would want, and mostly, because he was growing tried, not that he was done crying. Exhaustion was setting in and the tom could fight no more. Defeated, he laid on the ground, belly up and tied, tears slowing to a stop.
"Leave the poor kid alone Frostcloud," Snowbunny said, lying on the cold floor in a miserable state of frostbite on his paws, "I'm kind of ashamed I trusted you if your first and only move is going to be to tie down some more mentally ill cat. You've heard and seen for yourself just how much of a mess he is. No one ever councils him, they don't give him any crystals to help relax him even though we have the resources. I get it if he's in one of his violent moods, but he was just crying."
Snowbunny folded his stiff paws over the other as he snuggled his head back down, trying to forget about the biting pain, the frostbite was significant enough to be, well frostbite, but it wasn't at a horrific stage yet. Although he was worried it would get worse if left untreated.
Frigidpaw wasn't used to cats standing up for him, usually only Frevidsummer did, but she wasn't here and couldn't always be here. She was a warrior of WinterClan still, meanwhile, he'd killed a fellow student and was now a prisoner for life. It was better than being dead, but still wasn't the greatest life.
Frostcloud pinned her ears back at her mate as she felt Ravenpaw untie her paws. "Do I look like a medicine cat or a witch to you?" She hissed, giving Snowbunny a hard stare. She loved him, of course, but he always had a big heart and so full of hope and justice. Frostcloud only did what was necessary or she, too, would be trapped down there along side her mate. The only reason Snowbunny was still alive was for the mere fact that she snuck extra prey to him at night. If Wintrystar caught her, she would either be severely punished or stripped of her position and shoved in the prisoner pit too. Then, Snowbunny wouldn't have the strength and resources needed to keep him alive for as long as he was. They would both die together.

Ravenpaw finished untying Frostcloud, not commenting one way or the other on the adult's conversation. Well not initially. She shuffled her white back paws under her after seeing Snowbunny in such bad shape. Sliding the twine over to the Knight, she spoke up. "You'd have to ask Roseshade or Sweetcrema, but that could easily go up the chain to Wintrystar. But it's also not like everyone knows how to use those crystals." Ravenpaw didn't really get the crystal thing, she had barely gone to the Witch's den in her life. If she got a cut on her paw or a mite in her ear, her mom tended to take care of it. The thought made her ears itch.
Frostcloud twitched an ear at Ravenpaw's comment. "In today's times you just can't trust anyone. I don't know how to use crystals and your right, Wintrystar would find out and my job would be threatened. I can't afford to lose my position." She replied with a much softer voice to Ravenpaw as she took the twine from her. "The only thing we can do is follow orders and hope things turn out alright."
