Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Owlflight sat perch on a low branch of a tree, watching the leaves below. He really was enjoying clan life even if he did need to occasional break from all the chaos. The grey tom had never been surrounded by so many cats who wanted to help him, even when he lived with his family it was only his parents and his littermates. The gang was larger but they did not care for each other that much. It was just so different and frankly it wasn't what he had thought his life would be like at this point. Owlflight had thought by now he would have his own family. He had not expected that whole situation to go down like it had.
With a sigh he lept down, leaves crunching under his feet. Autumn was here though perhaps not for long. He looked up at the dreary, grey sky. SwiftClan would probably move again into a winter camp or maybe even out of this forest. That did not bother him too much, he has no ties to this place. His ears perked up as he heard the steps of a cat in the leaves.

Dawnpaw didn't have much to do. She excelled enough in her training that her mentor let her go hunting on her own today. With winter approaching, prey was always in demand. She never cared for going to other clans and begging for food, but she wasn't in charge. So she let Chimerastar do what he wanted to. Dawnpaw was used to being in the back of the pack, mostly because some didn't know how to work with her. But she made do.
The multicolored leaves crunched or stuck to her creamy colored paws. Thankfully, it wasn't as breezy in this land, but it didn't matter much when you had a fluffy white coat like she did. Honestly, Dawnpaw would have missed Owlflight, it was so easy for her to just focus ahead of herself and miss everything else. But her ear swiveled at the sound of the leaves, and she came out of the brush to realize she was face to face with the tom. Dawnpaw didn't say anything, but waved her paw in an odd but welcoming manner.
Owlflight smiled softly at the apprentice, he recognized her though he was drawing a blank with her name. “Hello” He spoke gently and did not expect much of a reply back. He knew Dawnpaw was mute and somewhat withdrawn or at least that’s what he thought. Considering the time he had spent in the clan so far he had little to go off for his assumptions. So it was not the best snapshot of who Dawnfrost was. Not that she probably thought any better of him. He was scarred and wiry, a little rough looking from his past few moons. Yet the two may have thing in common if they talked.
Ever trying to be a gentleman he gestured to the hole through the bushes. It led to a nice little clearing next to a creek. Perhaps she would like to spend time with him? She knew a lot more about this place than he did and might have helpful suggestions. Owlflight was just recalls determined not to mess up this chance he had in SwiftClan.

Ah, this guy. He was pretty new around here. Swiftclan had become like a dumping place, where you go if you don't fit in anywhere else and aren't murderous enough to go to Primal Instinct. Dawnpaw had only seen him here and there, couldn't really judge one way or the other. He was a little weird looking. She looked between him and the hole in the bushes, confusion in her eyes and her mouth pulling back into almost a scowl. But then she nodded, and slipped through the brush, tail flicking behind her and hoping he'd follow.
Owlflight emerged to sit next to the creek, it was to cold to swim anymore. Not that he was able to do much more than keep his head above the water in the first place. “Do you like it here?” He asked, uncertain if she had grown up in the clan or had joined sometime after. She had family he knew but wasn’t sure if their origin either. But he knew even if you were born somewhere you could still want to leave.
Owlflight didn’t mind if he carried the whole conversation, it would just be nice to have a friend. Then again it may be a short conversation as he did not always have that much to say in the first place. Small talk wasn’t exactly his forte, but it was giving him enough ideas to at least try to connect with this she-cat.

Dawnpaw emerged to find the creek. Even though the water was cold, her first instinct was to dip her paws into the creek. And yep, it was ice cold. So much she jumped back with a squeak, shaking the water off both of her paws frantically. Laying down, she covered her paws in the hopes of warming them up, but now her whiskers were catching the water's surface. The squeak reminded her where she was, blue eyes scanning their surroundings skeptically before turning back to Owlflight. "Yeah."
“It’s definitely nice, I can’t say I have ever lived with this many cats who genuinely care for each other.” Owlflight was perhaps a bit forward but he was trying to not come off as rough or standoffish. He had been told he was a bit blunt or gruff by some other less reserved clanmates. Every tradition he picked up on he was trying to embrace, even if he did not understand even half of them. StarClan was a really confusing thing for him. Religion just never had played a part in his life before.

Dawnpaw didn't know how to react to that. This had been her entire life, it was odd to think of a place that wasn't like it. Her head tilted to the side, eyes asking the question she was suddenly too nervous to ask out loud. A what are you talking about? on her tongue that she couldn't will to move.
“I mean when I was with my parents they cared but I ended up moving on. Then I fell in with cats who claimed to care but it was mainly self-serving.” Owlflight shrugged it off. Of course he assumed that clan cats at least knew a bit about life on the outside. After all they couldn’t, this clan especially, just ignore other cats. Granted they could turn a blind eye. “It’s different here, but I like it.” He glanced over at her, trying to figure out what she was thinking or feeling.

Dawnpaw nodded along. It wasn't like she hadn't seen other cats, or interacted with them. But the nature of her condition made her more sheltered. It was easier to just stick to talking to her mother, father and brother. Not that Owlflight could know, or maybe he would. She couldn't really tell, never very good at reading people. "Good. I'm glad." She spoke lowly and slowly, like she had to sound out the words to even speak them.
Owlflight was not the most self-absorbed cat and was rather quickly running about things to say about himself. “So what do you like to do around here?” He asked, though the question was rather open ended. Did he mean SwiftClan or just their current home? Either way he was trying to get into clan life, he was already pretty good with hunting for others but the social aspect he struggled with.

Dawnpaw tilted her head to the side, forgetting about the water at her paws as she focused on Owlflight. She knew he was new, but not that he was so insecure about what to do in clan life. It was the kind of thing that never occurred to her. Looking around her for a moment, she fiddled with a piece of grass. "Being with my family... Hunting... Swimming..." She ended her short sentences with a shrug.
