Arcticsong's entire face was covered in large bruises, shallow cuts, and scrapes. She was standing stiff in Bloodyrondo's den, her claws raking chunks of fur from her tail anxiously as she waited. Even though her mom healed, she was always afraid of check ups or more accurately being touched. Her parents had taught her enough that healers were allowed to touch you to help you feel better, but it didn't halt the tense feeling in her heart.
"I can put the herbs on my face," She said almost immediately, her gaze never making eye contact, but it hardly ever did. After she saw the way Bloodyrondo punished her mother she had a meltdown, one of her worse so far. Her family had been there to protect her from her meltdown getting any worse, but now she needed to get her wounds checked out.

Jetfire slowly emerged from the side den that had once been her mothers, the squeaks of protesting kits filling the air behind her. She hadn't been expecting her sister to show up, for the most part Bloodyrondo had been keeping her isolated from everyone up here. Using her younger siblings and her pregnancy as an excuse "Arcticsong" she greeted, a glimmer of light appearing in her eyes that hadn't been seen since the day Bloodyrondo had taken over the clan "Bloodyrondo isn't here, but should be back soon" she moved forward looking at the scratches on her face, but not touching her "don't worry, he will get those healed up in no time" she forced a smile on her face, trying to be brave for Arcticsong
"Oh, okay," Arcticsong said, relaxing a bit at the comfort that she didn't have to get checked out yet. But now that the quiet was back tears thick and warm slipped down her cheeks. A breathy sob escaped passed her lips as she tried to wipe away her tears, "I" She tried to talk clearly, but as the words continued to come out of her mouth she lost all control of herself as more sobs broke lose, "I miss mom and dad." Her paw went to her head as though she were about to hit it again, but instead she just clutched the side of her head, her entire body rocking back and forth. She was shaking, every sob left her trembling in her grief. Even if she knew her mom broke the code, even if she knew her dad had to be jailed, it didn't make the pain in her chest hurt any less. There was no one left, even her mentor was imprisoned.

Jetfire looked at the entrance to the den, before moving in and carefully wiping off her sister's tears with a claw being careful that she didn't brush up against the she-cat's soft fur "I miss them to" she replied honestly, but knowing that Bloodyrondo could return at any moment she had to bite her tongue to keep from saying anything to incriminating. She leaned in so that her sister could hear her but no one else would be able to over hear them "Bloodyrondo took me to see them... but don't say anything" she straightened back up, giving an anxious look back to the entrance of the den in case he was going to walk in
Perfeckit followed Jetfire from the High Priestess's den and sat down patiently a tail-length away from his older sisters. He was the picture of their mother but large for his age, sure to take more after Lionpride in that regard. He cocked his head at Arcticsong as she cried, knowing that she was hurting in more ways than one, but not quite sure how he could help, "Are... are you hurt, sissy? Can I help?"
(Just let me know when to bring in Bloody, this moment was too sweet I didn't want to ruin it yet xD)
Ferventkit waddled out after her brother, staring up with wide eyed at the tears that streamed down their sisters face "Don't cry sister" she mewed sweetly. Part of her worried that Bloodyrondo would take her away to if he found her crying "I'll pray for you!" she moved closer to Arcticsong until her paw was brushing against hers and closed her eyes "Sun God, please watch over our sister. She is crying, and it makes me really sad. Please help her smile again. She has a really pretty smile!"
(You can come in whenever with Bloody, I don't mind)
Arcticsong sniffed, wiping the tears from her face, "Yes, I'm hurt," She said to Perfectkit, which was a really really weird name for a kit, but she was too upset to let Perfectkit know that. She seemed to calm down when Feverentkit offered to pray for her. She lied down listening to the prayer, but still felt a jab of injustice. Why did Jetfire get to see mom and dad? Why did she get to see mom and dad, but she didn't even cry for them? Why didn't anyone cry for mom and dad? Was she over reacting again?
"Am I overreacting?" Arcticsong asked Jetfire, tears drawing tracks against her cheeks as she wiped at them once more, only damaging the cuts and bruising on her face by wiping at them so much.
"No, it's okay to cry sometimes." Perfectkit said, still a tail-length or so away, although he tensed when he saw the shadow of his adoptive father appear in the entryway.
"What's wrong?" Bloodyrondo looked tire but that was nothing new these days. His paint was applied beautifully but smeared a bit here and there after a long day of hard work. Still, even with the sun nearly set, he looked radiant. Like a true leader.
So, Jetfire and Arcticsong. Of all of Littlestar's grown kits, these were the two who seemed to like him the best, although he was not soon to forget the disastrous thirty seconds he'd experienced with Arcticsong during the family reunion. Although that interaction seemed like it happened a life time ago, the two of them never really did make up for it, and it seemed too late to bring it up now, "Those scracthes look awfully painful, Arcticsong. I'll get a poultice for you." Seeing Ferventkit and Perfeckit out and about, he motioned for them to follow him over to the herb stores, "Want to help?"
Arcticsong's tail lifted seeing Bloodyrondo came in and dipped his head to him, "Congratulations, I'm sorry the day you became leader had to be such a tragic day." But he walked right by her once he saw her face and she moved her head back up again. She watched the two kits follow after him with annoyance. They were going to make everything slow with their kit pace if they helped make that poultice.
She sniffed against wiping the stray tears from her eyes. He was so brave, after everything he had to do he could still leave his den and get done what he needed to. For a long time Bloodyrondo was her sisters boyfriend, it was very annoying, they would talk about each other non stop. But because Bloodyrondo belonged to her sister she had defended him when he was meant to be executed, defying her mom and fighting off a Janus. They had both loved and lost the same people in their lives and although he was too touchy she felt they could relate to one another.

Jetfire was about to speak, but fell silent as Bloodyrondo entered. Her mood shifting almost instantly to something darker as he gaze fell down to the ground "Her wounds are just hurting" she replied, looking up again to meet her sister's eyes. She had told the truth, but she wasn't speaking about the wounds on her face, but the ones on her heart. Arcticsong wasn't exactly known for picking up on social cues, but she prayed that she wouldn't say anything to incur Bloodyrondo's wrath.
Ferventkit nodded her head eagerly "But Bloodyrondo, I prayed for her... So I don't think she needs any herbs. The Sun God will make her AAALLLLL better!"
"Thank you for your support, Arcticsong. The Sun God is blessed to have such a loyal subject. I know what you did was not easy, but it was right, and you proved yourself a true chosen one." Bloodyrondo said, leaning forward to gently touch noses with the she-cat before stopping himself abruptly. He was learning, slowly but surely.
He pulled away and guided the two kits at his paws to the stores, addressing Ferventkit's statement next,"It's good that you prayed, darling, but there are some things we must do on our own. If the Sun God helped us with everything, we would never learn anything, would we?," Bloodyrondo gave Ferventkit a few small seeds, poppy seeds, wrapped in a waxy leaf, "Here, take this to your sister. Be very careful. Perfectkit will help." He then dismissed the kits with the flick of his tail and began to mix a more complicated poultice.
Arcticsong noticed the change in demeanor from her sister, her own gaze reflecting a troubled expression. She was about to ask if she was okay when Bloodyrondo got too close to her, but she only let out a sharp gasp rather than a hiss. She hadn't expected him to be so close, but from what she saw being close to someone was a compliment. If only it didn't feel so startling to her. Still she couldn't ignore how her usually peppy sister was acting.
"Jetfire, are you okay? You're sad too about mom?" Arcticsong asked, placing her paw over her sisters comfortingly, trying to catch her gaze, but it was pinned to the floor. As usual she had no trouble touching others, "We can be sad together, it is really sad how things had to happen."

"I'm not sad" Jetfire replied, her eyes flickering over to where Bloodyrondo was standing behind her mixing the poultice for her wounds "Our mother committed a crime and is now where she belongs. Bloodyrondo showed her more mercy than she should have expected after committing such an act" her words were robotic, her facial expressions not lining up with the words that came tumbling out of her mouth. The words she had to say to stay in his good graces and keep herself, her own kits, and her siblings safe "The kits are just kicking a lot, and its very uncomfortable" she added
Ferventkit shrugged "I guess so, but the Sun God can heal any wound and he wouldn't let one of his chosen stay hurt" she replied picking up the leaf as it finally shushed her carrying to over to her sister and dropping it at her feet
"You can still be sad though, like the tale of Desperatesoul. He was a prey thief, but he saved SunClan she-cats wrongfully accused of being MoonClan followers from their deaths from a corrupted soothsayer. He turned traitor to the soothsayer and stole prey bringing trouble to SunClan so it's good that he was executed in the story, but I was still sad. It taught me that you can do a lot of good, but still come out a villain. Desperatesoul was a villain who deserved execution, but I still felt sad when he died. So even though moms imprisoned and did a horrible thing, she still did a lot of good things before this and I'll still be sad for a while even though I'm happy Blooyrondo is our new priest. I hope that if Bloodyrondo made a mistake you wouldn't instantly become disloyal to him like you are to mom. If you did you would be just like Satinlights. Everyone was certain Bloodyrondo was going to get executed, but no one did anything except for me and no one ever once said sorry to him either," Arcticsong argued.
At first she felt bad for her sister, but now she just felt bad that Bloodyrondo was clearly spending time with someone who would turn on him the first chance she got. It was weird, like her sister was just desperate to hate their mom when she never did before. Maybe she would have began connecting the dots if it wasn't for Feverentkit's comment. Only a kit could assume the Sun God would solve every problem. If that were true there wouldn't be a priest at all, now Feverentkit was just being insulting to Bloodyrondo's work, acting like it didn't matter.
Arcticsong dipped her paw into the leaf applying the herbal remedy to her face. She hated the feeling of it, silently wishing for it to be absorbed fast.
Bloodyrondo finally joined the sisters with a small bundle of herbs in his jaws. He felt sort out of place all of a sudden. Arcticsong and Jetfire chattering like sisters, two of their younger siblings sticking close to their heels, more kits following in the very near future. These cats were Littlestar and Skipstep's heart and sou, born and raised in this very den. And they were still hurting, same as he was, from their parents' betrayal and current predicament.
"Here you are, Arcticsong. If you have issues sleeping I have herbs for that as well." He interrupted, pushing some cobwebs that have been lightly coated in a healing salve that smelled fresh and clean, "Make sure to fix those in place overnight. Once removed in the morning you probably won't have to reapply, but you'll need to check in with me first," He paused, then added a bit sheepishly, even for him, "How about you and Jetfire share the High Priestess's den tonight? I'll be close in case you need me..."
Arcticsong took the herbs, listening carefully to Bloodystar. As she spoke she seemed to be repeating the same words he spoke back to herself so she would remember. Her ears immediately pointed up at Bloodystar's offer, "Really? I get to sleepover with my sister?" She asked as she walked up closer to Bloodystar with wide loving olive green eyes. She gave him a small head bump into his shoulder before pulling away immediately, "That sounds like fun! Maybe we can all stay up a little later and eat snacks and tell stories?" She asked before looking back at Jetfire to see if she would be interested.

Jetfire nodded "Some sister time would be nice" she admitted, but doubt still shadowed her mind. What game was he playing at? It was an odd offer, but it didn't seem right to refuse either. Beside... maybe then the two of them could speak in private.
Bloodyrondo was taken aback by Arcticsong's sudden affection, if memory served last time they were this close she tried to claw his face, but he took it as a good sign and accepted the gesture gracefully.
"I'll do what I can to keep Littlestar's kits out of your fur, but no promises," He joked then turned to exit the den, "If you need anything just let me know. I won't be far."
"Thank-you Bloodyrondo!" Arcticsong called after him as he left before turning to her sister with a big smile. The amount of happiness Arcticsong visibly showed in a day was astonishing. Majority of the time someone in camp could always hear her laughter. It was like no matter how much you loved something Arcticsong could always love something infinitely more than you could ever feel. But when it came to Arcticsong's family she looked at them with such a puppy dog adoration it was hard to not smile back.
"I can't wait, should we build a nest to be bigger or make a new nest? We could paint each others claws and tell ghost stories," She suggested.

Jetfire watched as Bloodystar exited the den, before smiling back at her sister "All of that sounds great! This nest should be plenty big enough for the two of though. It fits myself, Bloodystar, and all of our younger siblings after all" she purred settling down into the nest to rest for a moment. "It will be just like the old days when we were here with mom"
