Her paws worked nervously at the ground, even as she crouched down low she still couldn't calm herself. It was risky crossing the SunClan border like this but she just couldn’t wait any longer. She needed to see Stridesplash. She just hoped that she wouldn’t have to wander closer to their camp.

[attr="class","box2"]B lue eyes watched her progress from afar, trying to figure out why MoonClans leader would be brazen enough to just cross over the border like that. He any other SunClan cat managed to find her, her fate would have been sealed. He dropped into a hunter's crouch, breaking away from his patrol and creeping closer to the small she-cat. Suddenly he pounced, pinning her to the ground and covering her mouth with his paw and and stern glare
"You all go on ahead, Im going to have to burry this hare and come back for it later. Its to big to carry around the rest of the border" He waited until the patrol disappered before leaning down and removing his paws
"What are you doing here?" he hissed, his tail lashing in aggitation "don't you know what happens to those that trespass onto our territory? If I hadnt of been the one to notice you, its untelling what they would have done to you" he took a step back glancing nervously back to where the patrol had disappered "we need to get you back to moonclan now"
To say that he had scared the fur off her pelt was the understatement of the century. In this moment she knew what it felt like to be prey, and she most definitely didn't like it. She was too shocked to scream. It died in her throat before Stridesplash could even cover her mouth. All she could do was stare up at him wide eyed, heart racing until he finally let her up and she rolled onto her paws.
"Do you really think me foolish enough to cross the border without a good enough reason?" she hissed angrily, though it was just a side effect of the initial terror she'd just experienced a moment ago. "We can cross over but we really need to talk" the golden she-cat insisted already starting to head back to her own territory. Being in SunClan territory made her feel like she could combust.

[attr="class","box2"]Come on" he replied gently taking the lead, letting his fur brush against her in case he needed to protect her again. As they walked his right ear flopped in time with his steps until they were past the MoonClan border. Even though he should have felt more comfortable in SunClan, he couldn't help but sigh in relief having delievered her to safty "I know that, but that was a mouse-brained move. If they had caught you, they would have captured and given you a fate much worse than death. You have to promise me that you won't do that again"
She stepped away from him once they had crossed into her own territory. She shook her head at his words turning to face him, clearly just a bit agitated in their current situation. "No they wouldn't and I won't have to if you just give me a moment I can explain" she sighed deeply, visibly deflating. "I had to come find you because I have news for you." Her eyes fell to stare down at her own paws, she couldn't bring herself to watch his reaction to her next words, she wasn't bare enough to face his expression on the off chance he was disappointed. "I'm expecting your kits." she mumbled staring at her paws, for once she actually felt small.

[attr="class","box2"]Stridesplash stood there in stunned silence. They had been so careful, how had this happened? He should have been happy, he really did like maplestar after all... but..... anger began to boil inside of him. Not because she was pregnant, but because of how careless she had been.
A growl rumbled in his throat "And you think that finding out you were pregnant would have stopped them from hurting you?" he moved forward, forcing her backwards and onto her back again
He paced his paws onto hers holding her firmly in place, he needed to make sure that she understood his point, he lowered his head, letting his teeth graze against her neck "Do you not know what SunClan does to pregnant cats that trespass?" anger permiated every word that he spoke, threatening to boil over into violence "If they knew they wouldn't have just killed you, the would have wisked you away into the prisoners den, never to see the light of day again"
The memories of the time when they had dayclan and springclan in their custody still fresh in his mind "I wouldn't have even known to look for you there, as you remained in utter darkness with no hope of escape. They would keep you there until the kits were viable, and force you into labor or ripping them out of you before finally ending your life. Leaving you with the knowledge that not only were you going to die, but that you kits would be raised by your murders. And thats just what they did to common warriors, what do you think they would have done knowing they had MoonClan's leader at their mercy" he nearly spit the last part. He loved her to much, he had to ensure that she never made this mistake again
"Now that you have told me, do you not understand the ramifications?" he released her backing away and turning his back to Maplestar "Our code states that no holy SunClan blood can be found outside of our clan... "
She wasted no time returning to her paws the moment the tom had let her up. She was shaking, not just in fear of what he had told her but also in rage. She let out an angry hiss as she glared daggers into his back. If looks could kill the fire in her eyes surely would of set the tom ablaze. "Don't you ever pin me like that again" she growled trying to keep the fear out of her voice. Stridesplash was the last cat she ever expected to make her feel so...so small.. so vulnerable. He was her mate after all, though he meant well in warning her she couldn't help but hate him for it in the moment.
"I do understand the ramifications you flea-brain! That's why I'm here, I was looking for you to share the news with you first so I could tell you that I hope to join SunClan as an initiate. I know the laws our our clans well enough and seeing as my options were death or to lose you and our kits I couldn't risk either." She paused, taking a moment to try to still her quaking frame before she continued. "Had I been caught I would of told the patrol I wanted to join you first, then told you about our kits later."

[attr="class","box2"]Stridesplash blinked, she still didn't understand. Not truly... "And what of MoonClan?" he questioned, his heart still heavy with worry and doubt "are they going to just let you walk away and join their biggest rival?" he stopped himself, knowing that what he was about to suggest was borderlining and breaking the rules of SunClan....
"I think you should stop a moment and think about this, and at least discuss it with me before deciding..." hurt clear in his eyes that she had almost gotten herself into a situation that she couldn't get herself out of
"Becoming an initiate isn't something you should do on a whim. I want to be with you more than anything... but.... look have you ever thought what becoming an initiate in sunclan means? You have to abandon your faith in the moon goddess, and always put the the Sun God above all... If there is any doubt at all in your heart and soul... even a shred.. Its a matter of life and death" [newclass=.box2]margin:0px auto; width:300px; height:425px; background: transparent; overflow:auto; padding:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #772929;[/newclass]
"A whim?" she echoed, her voice nearly breaking on the words. "Stridesplash look at me, I'm wide awake. During the day." she pressed trying to make him see that she wasn't doing this out of a spur of the moment thing. "I've know about our kits for over a quarter moon, I would not be speaking to you of this now If I hadn't thought about all of it. You, Us, our kits, our future." she shook her head she chad to stay focused. "I love the warm of the sun on my fur and being able to wake up with the sun every morning, know that because of his light I get to see you. It's The Sun God that allows my paws to guide me to you each day." She spoke more clearly and more confidently than she had anything else in her time as leader.
"MoonClan will thrive without me leading it because I am not their rightful leader." As soon as she said it, she could feel the heavy burden of her words being lifted off her shoulders, only to be replaced by the warmth of the sun. Finally the secret she had been keeping to her self for so long was coming to light, and she was all too thankful for the sheer relief of it.

[attr="class","box2"]Stridesplash shook his head, moving in and pulling her close "I just don't want to loose you..." he buried his nose in the fur along her neck. He took in her warm scent just savoring the moment, how was it that she was so perfect? Not just perfect for him... perfect. Even her clumsiness was charming, instead of a hinderence. Here she was saying that she wanted to be with him, and all he had done was try and push her away.
"You are my sun, bringing light into my heart and soul. The thought of anything bad happening to you drives me crazy, especially you putting yourself at risk for me..." he trailed off knowing that even now he was probably sounding a little crazy
"Maplestar... I love you. You are why I wake up every morning, if this is really what you want I will be by your side every step of the way"
Maplestar nearly choked on the purr that erupted in her throat and chest at his words. With him leaning down to her height she was able to turn her head and lick the warrior between the ears in response. There were no words to describe the sheer relief and happiness she felt in this moment. Blinking back tears she composed herself enough in an attempt to speak. "You're more than worth the risk. Without you I would have nothing. If having you means I'll never see the stars or moon again, That I'll never spend my nights running through the forest again It will be worth it to have you by my side for the rest of my days, and sharing my nest for the rest of my nights. I know my place, and whether or not it's under the sun or under the moon I know in my heart it's with you."

Stridesplash
SunClan Warrior
The Pessimist
Stridesplash pulled Maplestar in close to his chest, wrapping around her small form with his tail "Then I supposed I should probably start prepating you for SunClan... " even though he could have just there listening to her heart beat for eternity "Its a very diffrent place from MoonClan" he burried his nose in the fur along her neck, for the first time feeling like he didn't have to hold back any longer
"But the one good thing about SunClan is that because they" he paused placing paw on her tummy with a purr "have SunClan blood, they will automatically be allowed to stay no matter what happens"
