Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Honestly, Hera had never felt comfortable in Post Kilo. She had left this post as soon as possible when she was younger and yet here she was again. She had been made to stay here up until her tykes had been born and while she did care for her kits, she couldn't stand to be out of commission for six moons. This was the reason she had returned to her duties the moment her tykes had been weaned. Even so she made an effort to visit them every now and then. Even if she was entrusting their upbringing to the Raisers, she knew they would probably enjoy seeing her every now and then. The only problem was that she felt totally out of place in Post Kilo just as she always had. She was awkwardly picking her way through tykes at play hoping to catch sight of her own litter nearby.

Despite having retired, Veteran Astrid found her paws guiding her to Post Kilo far more often than they probably should. She felt more at ease here among the warm and familiar post. It smelled of milk and kits and it was always warm and comfortable. She was used the presence of tykes and it got rather lonely in the veteran's den. The tortoiseshell she-cat lay on her side, observing a few of the young ones running around and playing with each other. Play was important at their age as they would begin to develop important skills for survival as they got older. Spotting Hera looking awkward and wholly out of place, they grey-streaked she-cat raised her tail in greeting. "Hera, are you here to visit your tykes?" She asked warmly, clearing her throat as her words came out somewhat raspy.
Hera jumped slightly when she heard Astrid's voice. She hadn't been expecting anyone to notice her here really. Then again, she definitely stood out so she probably should have expected someone to say something. As she turned to look at Veteran Astrid, she dipped her head politely and smiled at the older she cat. "I thought I would surprise them. I haven't made it back to see them in a day or so." While most she cats felt the need to stay in Post Kilo with their young, Hera was perfectly happy with the arrangement she had now and as far as she could tell, the tykes didn't seem to mind it either.

She smiled warmly at the young mother and nodded, sweeping her tail across the ground slowly. "I'm sure they will love it." She reminded Astrid of a time when all mothers would leave to return to their duties after the kits were weaned, but was pleased that Hera still returned to visit and see how they were doing. These days more mothers and parents were involved with their tykes and it warmed her heart and started a low and somewhat painful sounding purr deep in her chest. "How are you doing? It can be hard to be separated from your tykes, although sometimes it's harder to be close all the time."
