Ravenstar / Raventusk
Every dog may have his day, but a cat has 365. But like an old dog, this aging tomcat still has a trick or two up his furry sleeves. Raventusk has been in WinterClan as for back as he can remember, his whole life in fact. This brooding feline doesn't simply walk, he saunters. Scars from many moons of battles cover his large body. Raventusk's most noticeable scars being on his nose and ears out. As black as his namesake, and equally as cunning, Raventusk's pelt is long and thick. Hooded yellow eyes absorb information like moss. This tom rarely smiles, a permanent sneer makes Raventusk seem unapproachable. Don't tell his enemies, but under Raventusk's signature smile is a pair of protruding fangs, and his Warrior name. But despite his grizzled appearance and greying muzzle, Raventusk wears many coats. He will be fierce in his enemies eyes, yet soft to the eyes of the youth. A well rounded tom, Raventusk is a decent hunter but it's in the battle ring when things really get bloody. But despite his brutish appearance, Raventusk would much rather take a step back and evaluate a situation before acting. Raventusk is quick of wit and sarcastic, with a touch of dark humour. Raventusk has outlived most of his bloodkin, who have all either died naturally or before their time. As for a mate or children, Raventusk has been to dedicated to his Clan to even blink at the thought. Raventusk's only string, only attachment, is his Clan.
HOW ACTIVE ARE YOU ON CLASSIC IN GENERAL? → 1, but hopefully I can get back into the grove of things.
HOW ACTIVE ARE YOU IN WINTERCLAN CURRENTLY? → 1, I do plan to add this character to the joining thread regardless of the results of the tryout. Though I do ask if activity requirements are still the same for Leaders? as it was, what was it, four years ago?
HOW FAMILIAR ARE YOU WITH WINTERCLAN'S CURRENT TRADITIONS? → I love how Prisoners can fight to become a full Warrior or for their freedom. At least I remember that being a thing a couple of times on Classic. I am definitely going to have to read up on WinterClan's current practices.
WHAT PRIOR LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE? → I was briefly Leader of NightClan with my cat Jynxstar/Jynxfire. Long story short, I was the Co-Deputy for a while and both the Leader and Deputy at the time went inactive for about 3 months. So I tried my best to keep Clan activities going such as A/C'S & Ceremonies, I also managed the Joining Thread and basic page maintenance. As a Writer I had limited abilities, so I would ask a Mod or Admin to feature, unfeature or remove threads when necessary. However, this was all on the old website and I am not familiar with editing pages on this forum. I am willing to learn, but I completely understand if this makes me undesirable. If wondering why I don't appear on the NightClan history page is because I was only truly Leader for a week, but my anxiety at the time was so bad I just couldn't handle it. And the NightClan page doesn't list past Co-Deputies.
HOW FAMILIAR ARE YOU WITH HTML / CSS? → Not at all, but always willing to learn.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE WINTERCLAN LEADER? → I want to be WinterClans Leader because it has always fascinated me. The traditions and dynamics of the Clan are a neat different from the other clans. It truly would be an honor to lead such a notorious Clan.

CAT NAME & BIO → LEATHERFERN Once a WinterClan cat always a WinterClan cat. Leatherfern has not had your typical go with the flow warrior life. Born to two Prison Guard warriors, Coralsnow and Blisteringstorm, Leatherfern was their only kit they were ever able to have. With this being their reality Blisteringstorm and Coralsnow were determined to make a legendary prison guard out of him. Their methods however, teetered dramatically on the immoral scale. Old WinterClan traditions insisted a Prison Guards worth and power was based on their ability to withstand pain. This trial of tolerance was completed through the infliction of pain induced by claws in an intricate design in a cats pelt. This would had to heal naturally and without medical care. The more intricate the design showed a cats ability to withstand more pain for a longer amount of time. Leatherfern's parents forced him from midkithood to walk on thorns and sharp stones, held his head under water to force him to hold his breath, would spare with him with open claws. Upon returning to camp and sending the kit to the medicine cat for medical care they always attended with stories of leatherfern stumbling or getting into a fight. Never implicating themselves in any form of abuse. Perhaps if anyone had noticed Leatherfern could have been saved from carrying confused feelings about his parents. Shortly after being made an apprentice both of Leatherferns parents died of a harsh black cough. But with the unsteady shifting tyranny of Goldenstar Leatherfern had to grow up fast. With his deatha nd the take over of Understar Leatherfern was chosen out of the crowed at random as a new apprentice to become his deputy. It wasnt but a few short moons later upon reaching the age of a warrior that Understar didnt return from a failed raid attempt and left Leatherfern to take on the title of leader. With his reign he made many changes to the Culture of WinterClan. Steering clear of the heartless blood spilling nature within the clan for a more family and tradition based culture. But it wasnt to last. Leatherfern was distracted by a pretty gray she-cat in SunClan who he found out later was his lost friend and childhood love, Littlebird, Goldenstar's daughter. Their affection for one another grew but both knew their place was with their own clans. But that didnt stop Littlebird from becoming pregnant and giving birth to Fernskip and Lionpride, Leatherferns daughter and son. For much of his leadership he was driven by the need to protect Littlebird and his kits in SunClan. To be part of their lives. So much so that he became unaware of the threat taking on the form of rebellion back home within his deputy. Before he knew it he was being driven from the territory and his beloved home he had known his whole life. For a long while Leatherfern wondered the territories with his seven lives learning and gathering cultural information about the other clans. He eventually became reunited with his old mentor and best friend Crimsonrose who told him about the failing leadership of WinterClan since he was exiled. With this news Leatherfern felt the stars were sending him home. With a new found knowledge of how a clan should be run and how his ancient ancestors in StarClan expected him to live, he returned to WinterClan to take back him rightful place as Leatherstar.
HOW ACTIVE ARE YOU ON CLASSIC IN GENERAL? → [ 1 - 10 scale ]: 8-9 Im on everyday. While I may not rp every day I do check my messages and make sure nothing urgent needs to be addressed. My rp activity is 4-5 days a week out of 7.
HOW ACTIVE ARE YOU IN WINTERCLAN CURRENTLY? → [ 1 -10 scale ] I am not currently active in WinterClan. Although if I do not get this leadership I intend to join with a different character.
HOW FAMILIAR ARE YOU WITH WINTERCLAN'S CURRENT TRADITIONS? → I am not familiar with the current traditions. However as a side note the current traditions would be changed to a more traditional warrior clan if Leatherfern becomes leader again. However with a few more unique traits just to winterclan based on their territory and such.
WHAT PRIOR LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE? → I have lead Primal Instinct twice and was deputy there here a few months ago. I have lead WinterClan once.
HOW FAMILIAR ARE YOU WITH HTML / CSS? → I am somewhat familiar and currently re-familiarizing myself. What I dont know I am knowledgeable enough to figure out or know who to ask. I am very confident with BBcode.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE WINTERCLAN LEADER? → Leatherfern's leadership was cut short because of finding out I was pregnant and going to college at the same time and working a full time job. Since then My pregnancy has transitioned into a stage that is less hard on the body and my energy has returned. I am now a stay at home online student and I have time on my hands. Plenty of time to make admin and leadership conts without excuses. Because of Leatherfern's story there are a lot of personal plots that can come of this including Leatherfern's daughter Fernskip eventually taking over his place as leader as I plan to have Leatherfern sacrifice his lives to save littlebird in the distant future plot. The plan is sicne he still has seven lives he will not gain anymore from starclan but rule as leader with the ones he currently has. I wasnt to bring WinterClan back to a more traditional clan style with some traits unique to winter but not to crazy. You know the old stuff in life always make a come back. I want to bring back starclan and some trials as well. Essentially but WinterClan back on the map. If I am chosen I want to kick off leadership with a plot involving the Sungod punishing leatherfern for interfering to much in SunClan's life by sending a drought to WinterClan. The ice and snow on the mountain and most of the territory melts causing the land to seem like a completely unrecognizable place to the clan cats. They struggle to find food except at the edge of the territory because the animals who are usually on the mountain leave when the ice melts. The river and streams slow to a trickle and the clan starts to panic. The medicine cat can get a message from starclan saying the trial will pass and they will be blessed when it does. With the melting of the ice new dens are formed (old ones having been under the ice) and the camp layout changes a bit. Leatherfern tries to keep moral up by hosting old trials and games and encouraging interaction with the neighboring clans when they need help. Hopefully establishing some allies. (:
SIDE NOTE - If i became leader I would first ask those who also tried out for leader if they were interested in deputy before doing tryouts if none were interested.
Frozenrequiem is extremely good at pleasing others. She wants everybody to view her as someone who's pleasant to be around, and wants other cats to like her. She's polite, kind, and patient, and plays up the good parts of her personality when she's introduced to someone new. It's very unusual to witness her lose her cool. She'll often be able to keep a straight face even in the middle of an argument, or in the face of danger. The molly absolutely loves kits, and is looking forward to the day that she'll have her own. This carries into her behavior when she's conversing with someone, and she often accidentally acts the same way she would act in the presence of younger cats. She's very caring, and can sometimes be too overbearing and worry too much, but she has good intentions and just wants to make sure everyone is safe and sound. She'll help any cat in need if possible, even strangers and cats from a rivaling clan. Frozenrequiem likes to tease others and joke around with her friends, even though she isn't exactly good at it. She says her jokes with confidence, however, fully aware that they're pretty bad, but her friendly nature and self-awareness usually makes others endure her terrible puns, and it occasionally happens that others genuinely enjoy her rather silly jokes. When talking to cats that she's comfortable around, her more childish side will emerge. She loves corny jokes, laughing until she snorts like a pig, and being downright silly or clumsy on purpose. It's not often anyone gets to see this side of her unless she truly trusts them, as she's afraid that this behavior wouldn't be accepted by most cats. Frozenrequiem greatly respects authorities, and would never dare to go against her orders. She is always eager to please others and show the higher-ups how capable she is. One of Frozenrequiem’s favorite hobbies is playing the matchmaker. She sees romance everywhere she goes, and truly believes in twin flames and finding your one true love. The she-cat’s not above occasionally flirting with cats that she likes, and loves when others try to gain her attention or win her affections. It is advised to not go against this molly, though. You'll only find yourself on her bad side. She's infuriatingly stubborn, and will almost never change her mind about anything. Frozenrequiem often puts up a front around her clanmates, making herself seem likable and charming, while hiding her negative traits away behind a carefully crafted mask. She doesn't have any bad intentions, but instead believes that no one would like her if she wasn't anything but perfect. The warrior will do anything to get things her way, even if it means tampering with others’ heads a little. She'll often try to charm others to get what she wants, but when she decides to interfere in others’ personal lives, it can become a problem. Frozenrequiem has good intentions, and only wants to help, but she can't help but be a little pushy or see things in a biased way. She often tries to make others believe the same things as her, and she's a master at convincing others that she's right. Frozenrequiem is used to getting what she wants due to her parents’ forgiving nature. They would often bring her gifts as a child, or let her do whatever she wanted while they sat in the background, sighing. They were very soft when raising her. She was their only kit after all, but this lead to her always assuming that she could do whatever she pleased. Lastly, when she has deemed you worthy of being her friend, she'll never let you go. Frozenrequiem likes to know that there's always someone out there that she can spend time with, and that they'll put up with her. She's extremely afraid of being left alone, and therefore seeks out other cats’ company all the time. She will do anything in her power to satisfy her chosen companion and make them stay.
HOW ACTIVE ARE YOU ON CLASSIC IN GENERAL? → Roughly an 8; I try my best to get on every day, but sometimes my schedule is just a tad too busy.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE WINTERCLAN LEADER? → I plan on bringing WinterClan out of the activity slump it's been put in. I feel like it needs a new, strong leader, one who is able to spend a lot of their free time online and bringing WinterClan back to it's former glory. I have many interesting plot ideas, all that will involve the clan as a whole.
LUX From his scorched black face, and dark brown-nearly black fur, one would think it ironic for this tom to be named Lux. Maybe it's because of the way light shines in his ice blue eyes? who knows? despite his dark appearance Lux is almost all fun and games. An eternal smile plastered to his face every time he talks to someone. A charmer through and through, his way with words have been rumored to make she-cats and toms alike melt in his paws like butter. In fact, no matter what mood he's in he's smiling. Not to hide his emotions though. If he's happy you'll know it, and if he's angry... well you don't want him angry. Other than his self-absorbed, and annoyingly chipper personality he has one nasty short temper when it comes to those who operate outside of his own morale compass. One, he hates liars. Lux prides himself in being an honest cat and will never lie to you, when asked out right, though he will sometimes spare the details to avoid hurting someone when hurting them is unnecessary. Two, accountability if you make a mistake own up to it. He strongly believes that no one is responsible for their actions except themselves and won't entertain the idea that 'someone else made me do it.' Three, needlessly hurting someone. As long as you don't do any of those three things more likely than not you'll remain in his favor. When his fuse does run out, he sees red, blinded by rage he will lash out but, has never been too far gone to seriously hurt anyone. Normally he doesn't like to form lasting relationships with other cats and has only ever done flings but, falling in love isn't impossible for him, he just won't believe anyone could actually love him. Deep seeded trust issues keep him from letting anyone truly get close to him, and he's not one to show his true feelings beyond that of friendship, or a meaningless fling.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE WINTERCLAN LEADER? → I have some great ideas for the clan without changing any of it's current traditions and incorporates multiple clans, and I think Winter could be a good change of pace.
CAT NAME & BIO → Glaniur The drop of rain water in the stream, the rustle of leaves on a stormy day. The mouse hiding from its predator, the predator chasing its prey. A picture is worth a thousand words, but those words change with each story. Which is reality? Which is fake? Vision and sight. They are a simple sense, something that most cats have. Something that most take advantage of. Do they truly see the world for what it is? Perhaps the blind are the ones who see the most. Maybe those gifted with sight are the ignorant ones. The lucky ones. Who truly wants to see the world? Each little movement, unseen. Every tiny ant, ignored. Even something as big as a tree, often overlooked. Things that you would never even guess would be important, end up being life changing. This is the training that was pushed into Glaniur, to never ignore a single detail. Be aware of everything, as a blind cat would if they were given the chance. Overlooking a single fact could be deadly. Each sound, each movement. Take it all in, and think. Be tactical. Surprise your enemy with the obvious. Or the unexpected. After all, no one would expect to be beaten in a fight by a former kittypet. Not all kittypets have an easy life, however. Some are tortured, abused, even when a young kit. There was no love to be found by his twolegs, and so it was little surprise that Glaniur took the first chance he could get to escape. Even as a kit, he was always watching for an opening. It was that habit of his that made a small group of rogues take him in to train. The young tom learned every skill he knows from them, but at a cost. They were rogues. Untrustworthy, dangerous. Even for a kit. Sometimes, Glaniur wondered which life was better. The rogues knew no mercy. It was enough to turn a kit into someone else. They abused him much like the twolegs. But, he had freedom. He was offered knowledge. So, he went along with the training until the rogues abandoned him. The day they vanished was the day Glaniur officially gained freedom. He was no longer at the mercy of others, bent and beaten to their will. He was finally able to look after himself. Yet, he still ended up in a clan, following another’s orders. It was an odd thing, for a cat with no more trust to give, ending up in a clan. He makes no secret of his hatred for others, just as most cats do with kittypets and rogues. But, sometimes it’s easy to forget. After all, he seems to turn everything into a joke, responding to most things with a sarcastic remark. It’s curious, however, how Glaniur never throws his looks around. His speckled black face, covering his cream colored pelt, and his icy clear eyes, he’s not too hard to look at. But, Glaniur seems to not take a romantic interest in anyone.

HOW FAMILIAR ARE YOU WITH HTML / CSS? →Basics, really. but I have learned quite a few things in the past on other websites, and I could easily re-learn them.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE WINTERCLAN LEADER? →You know, the usual sappy "this was my first clan when I joined ~10 years ago and was where I held my first position as MC and WC has always held a part of my heart", but also I know I have the ability to help Winterclan with activity, and through Winterclan, I could also help the site with the same problem.
