Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The claw marks across Dovecaper's eyes and face burned. His eyes had became tender and were healing slower than he liked. The deputy laid in a nest the Medicine Cat Den. When he slept he still saw the claws of the Fox coming at his face. It had been days since Fallclan had went to war with some foxes that had invaded their territory. Many members of the clan had been injured and were healing from wounds. No member had died except the possibility of Thrushstar, but they were not for sure. They had found blood where Thrushstar had been station and the scent of fox, but a body was never found. They didn't know if he was dead or alive. If he had been dragged away by a fox and escaped or killed, but as the days went by no sign of the leader showed. The truth about their leader seem to sink into the members of Fallclan. And the reality of the situation sunk into Dovecaper. As he moved from the nest to the entrance of the den and looked up at the starry sky. "Softpelt I think it's time. We've waited days and there has been no sign of Thrushstar. No one has found a body and he has shown up yet." The deputy let out of a soft sigh.
Softpelt was making a poultice nearby, a mixture of herbs to try and ease Dovecapers eyes. Her ears pricked when Dovecaper spoke and she lifted her head. She followed his gaze to glimpse the stars outside and she nodded. "I think you are right, Thrushstar would not have left us if he were able to return. FallClan cannot wait for a leader, we should go to the Moon Creek. If he is not gone StarClan may provide the path to finding him, if he is, then it's time for you to become our leader." She said.
"But first, I need to apply this to your scratches and then drip some of the mixture for your eyes." With his eyes hurt she'd had to get creative with coming up with a mixture of herbs to help him as pure marigold like she would for most wounds was insufficient. It caused him great pain the first time she'd tried, but fortunately Fawnheart had a mixture that helped for injured eyes. "Then we can be on our way."
She picked up the bundles containing her poultice and her marigold and went over to him to began applying the necessary remedies.
At the mention of herbs Dovecaper’s nose wrinkled. He remembered the first time that Softpelt had applied herbs to his eyes and how it burned. He held still as the Fallclan Medicine Cat applies the herbs. Every once in awhile he winced from the occasional pain, but was doing better then from his first day in the den. “My aight probably won’t be the same it use to be once they are healed.” The Deputy voiced trailed off. He knew Starclan had done miracles before, and wondered if they would heal his vision if Thrushstar was truly gone, or if his vision would disqualify him from being leader. He had never heard of a near blind leader leading a clan before.
"I will do everything I can to heal you," Softpelt assured setting aside the poultice. "That's all I can promise. But have hope, your sight hasn't been lost, that's a good thing." She returned the herbs to their proper places, then sighed at the mess. After the attack she hadn't had a chance to really organize her den as much as she'd like. "We should leave soon, you should have some traveling herbs." She said as she grabbed them and set them before Dovecaper. "Eat these and then meet me by the entrance, I'm going to fetch Inksplash, some of the cats have been getting into my herbs, so I'll have Inksplash stand guard. I don't want cats taking too many poppy seeds again. Rainbowsong nearly scared us all to death when she wasn't waking up after taking a few too many." She rolled her eyes at the memory of the calico she cat taking too many poppy seeds than she should've.
"We don't need any warriors becoming addicted to poppy seeds. I agree it is best that Inksplash stays guard." He agree and stared at the traveling herb bundle laying before him. He nudged the leaf open and looked over what had been placed before him. He then took in the state of the medicine cat den. He could see even with his blurred vision that some of the herbs appeared in disarray. "When we get back from the Moon Creek. I could sent a few of the more responsible apprentices in here to help you clean up your den and sort your herbs if you would like some help that is." He commented before lapping up the traveling herbs. As the taste hit his taste buds his nose wrinkled up is disgusted at the sharp bitterness of them. "I think I prefer you putting herbs on my eyes rather than ingesting them."
Softpelt chuckled as she hurried off to fetch her daughter.
A few minutes later she set Inksplash up in the medicine cat den, the black and white she cat sitting down in the den with a huff. IT was clear the young she cat wasn't thrilled but she grudgingly accepted the task put before her.
With that done and Inksplash set for the night, Softpelt trotted out of her den to rejoin Dovecaper. "All right, let's be off for the moon creek. We'll have to move quickly if we hope to get there in time to meet with StarClan."
Dovecaper : Territory Dovecaper nodded and didn't say anything as they trek through the Fallclan territory. The deputy stumbled a few times over rocks, dips in the ground or even an occasional branch. It wasn't until they stepped over the border and started to leave Fallclan's territory behind. Dovecaper paused to look back at the territory he was leaving behind. Next time I'm here I will be their leader he thought to himself than continued to follow the medicine cat towards the Moon Creek. "I wonder who I will see in Starclan." He finally spoke after his long silence.
Bijou : Camp Bijou entered camp his tail dragging on the ground his ears dropping as he flopped in front of the warriors' den. Another failed search party looking for Thrushstar meant another failed day. The white tom was alone. His sister Brokenfear wasn't speaking to him and his brother Larkwing seem to be spending less and less time in camp ever since the fox attack. Bijou for once in his life felt hollow. He hadn't been upset when his mother Eternalstar died. But as each day dragged on, and the reality that his father wasn't coming back sunk in deeper and deeper. No body had been found in. Only a pool of blood and the scent of fox. Bijou ever since that day had thrown himself into every search party only to come home with less hope. He wanted closure and wanted to know if his father was dead or alive. Or if he had abandoned him. He crawled to his paws and padded over to the medicine cat den. Wondering if he could talk to Softpelt, and if she had any remedies to help his pain. "Softpelt." He called out as he walked in.
Softpelt: Territory "From my experience StarClan tends to choose someone close to you to greet you the first time you begin to work closer with them," Softpelt said whiskers twitching. "MY mate Birchshade and my son Coldpaw greeted me when I became FallClan's medicine cat. Their presence was much appreciated as I became more and more familiar with being a medicine cat." She let out a sigh, and carried on, moving alongisde at Dovecaper's pace, not rushing nor trying to lead him, only intervening if he risked causing severe harm to himself.
Inksplash : Medicine Cat Den "She's not in at the moment," Inksplash said. To try and make her guard duty less boring she'd taken to trying to sort the herbs and various stuff Softpelt kept in the den. It was a bit difficult as she was unfamiliar with the herbs. But stuff like feathers and honeycomb and moss was easy enough. Her mother liked to gather things like leaves and rocks as well for patients to fidget with, or to entertain kits so they didn't go a wandering into her herb stores. "So I'm afraid-" She turned and froze at the sight of Bijou. Bitterness rose up and she turned away quickly hastily picking up some rocks and shoving them into a hole, where it probably didn't belong but she didn't care. "She's not in." She said voice tight. Trying not to be angry. Her mother had told her she shouldn't hold it against Bijou so harshly but she.... she wasn't entirely able to let it go. "She went out for... something."
(I honestly don't know what happened to his parents, or siblings. They all went inactive years ago so honestly xD improving this as I go.)
Dovecaper: Territory "I would like to be greeted my one of my fathers. Possibly Falleninterlude even though he was my adoptive father and Leafpelt was my biological father. I was the closest to him when I was younger. Even seeing my siblings Patchpetal or Mudkit would be a welcomed site. I haven't seen them in seasons. Mudkit died from greencough when we were kits. I vowed to him I would take care of our sister Patchpetal, but she lost her life due to a hunting accident that involved a falling from a tree on a windy day." Dovecaper commented as the moved along. "Also I didn't know that you had a mate or kits before becoming a medicine cat."
Bijou : Medicine Cat Den Bijou came face to face with Inksplash. The tom attempted to throw his guard in an attempt to not show his feelings. "Do you know when she will be back?" He asked his voice rather quiet. "I really need to talk to her. It umm important..." He trailed off admitting to more than he wanted to.
(maybe since the rpers left you can take over and decide their fate XP) Softpelt: Territory "Birchshade was the one who convinced me to come to the clans, I was a kittypet long ago you know." She said with a laugh. "I know it's so strange to think about, but before Birchshade showed up and wooed me, and led me to SpringClan, I was in Twolegplace. It was all right, but dull. Then Birchshade came along and..." She let out a wistful sigh. "The times we had. Then I was in SpringClan and then he was just... gone. I then had Inksplash and her brother... But sadly Tarantulastar's regime cost Coldpaw his life. StarClan smiled upon me that my daughter survived." Softpelt sighed. "But now, now I'm content. I miss them from time to time, but the job of a medicine cat is very fulfilling. I used to do so many different jobs you know." Softpelt said as they walked. "Fighting just wasn't what I wanted to do. I wanted to help mothers with their kits, I wanted to teach kits, I wanted to help. But I was constantly stuck being pushed to fight. And well, I was never a fighter," She shrugged. "So I had to leave and become FallClan's medicine cat instead, and I've never regretted it."
Inksplash : Medicine Cat Den Inksplash hesitated at his voice and turned back around. "Well, unfortunately I think she's going to be away for most of the night." Inksplash said quietly. "Why, what did you need?" She asked. "I mean... I'm not my mom. But I could try to help." Even though she didn't trust Bijou, she couldn't deny seeing him so downtrodden made her feel a stab of sympathy.
Dovecaper : Territory "I understand, I wasn't born in Fallclan either. My mother when I was born was the deputy of Nightclan. Her name was Olivedove at the time and later became Olivestar. She didn't want me or my siblings and abandoned us with our fathers Leafpelt and Falleninterlude. Fallclan has always felt like home to me, even if I was born in Nightclan." Dovecaper admitted as the scent of Winterclan became stronger. " We should probably keep to the Winterclan and Summerclan border. With our reason war with the foxes I don't need to get on Diamondstar or Ravenstar's nerves." The deputy stated as he veered towards the border.
Bijou: Medicine Cat Den "I was wondering if Softpelt could give me something to help me relax, or if I could talk to her about Thrushstar. She seemed to know my father a great deal, and I wanted to know if she had seen him in Starclan." He answered sitting down on the Medicine Cat Den floor looking rather defeated.
"Honestly though some take stock in the place of one's birth, I find it matter's more what one does where they're at now, than where they've come from." Softpelt meowed, she scented the air and detected winterclan and summerclan scent as well and nodded in agreement with Dovecaper. "Yes, it'll be the path of least resistance. Especially with our last interaction with SummerClan being one of aggression."
Inksplash : Medicince Cat Den
Inksplash looked him over. She'd forgotten that Thrushstar was Bijou's father. Uncertain of what to say she opened her mouth and then closed it, eyes searching around the den when her gaze fell upon something lit up in the moonlight. She reached out to paw the stick close, recognizing it as a sprig of birch. It had no use for healing, but since becoming medicine cat her mother kept it near her stores.
'It reminds me of your father,' she'd told Inksplash the last time the black and white she cat had assisted her mother in tidying the den. 'I find having his namesake nearby makes me feel a little closer to him.'
At the time Inksplash had shrugged it off. She knew so little of her father, he'd died long before she was born. But the gap in her life where he should've been was obvious.
Looking at the stick for a moment Inksplash let out a sigh.
"losing a parent is hard. Especially if you just got a chance to finally get to know them." Inksplash murmured holding the stick gently in her paws. "But, at some point you have to find what you can of them and take it with you. Get-" She trailed off, having been about to say closure when realization hit her.
Except they had no body. Whereas Birchshade had been killed fighting a badger, and his body brought back to be mourned over and then laid to rest, according to her mother's recounting. Thrushstar had yet to receive that. Thus Bijou had no closure.
The borders ran into a point when the heavy scent of Fallclan was beginning to fade as they approached the Gathering place. "We should take the Winterclan and Springclan border. While Thrushstar did smooth things over with Springclan and you are formerly from Springclan. I don't know if they would take too kindly to us since we have given some of the former rogues from Springclan a place to live." Dovecaper commented as they crossed the gathering clearing.
Bijou : Medicine Cat Den
"Do you think there is a way I could see my father again?" Bijou asked noticing the stick in Inksplash paws and wondered if it held a significance to her.
"It can't hurt to avoid stepping on any toes," Softpelt meowed nodding. "The other clans shouldn't interfere with us going to StarClan, but I imagine they'll appreciate the courtesy." She followed alongside Dovecaper, sparing a glance back over towards the land SpringClan occupied. Her former home. But surprisingly the only thing she missed was being able to visit her mate and son's resting place.
"And SpringClan ultimately will have to accept it," she sighed. Long ago SpringClan was such an accepting happy place, now it was but a shadow of what it once was. It made Softpelt a little sad. But she shrugged it off. "They are our clanmates now and we won't apologize for their presence in our ranks. To do so would sow the seeds of dissent and discord in our clan."

Inksplash: Medicine Cat Den
Inksplash hesitated, "I mean... The moon creek is where mother goes to speak to StarClan, like my father." She murmured. She wondered if you could just go up to the Moon Creek and speak to the cats who passed. Could she meet her father? Finally learn who was the cat her mother loved? "And mother went there with Dovecaper, so maybe, maybe if we go tonight we can get an audience with StarClan and you coudl see your father... and so could I." She looked down at the stick and then set it aside. It would be good to have closure on what had happened to Thrushstar. And the thought of meeting her father! It thrilled her a little, and her head and tail lifted.
"What do you think of that?" She asked. There was a chance it'd be wrong to do this, after all she'd be leaving the post her mother had tasked her with, but the thought of seeing her father for the first time made her giddy with excitement.
"I've noticed some of our warriors giving some of our newer members a hard time. I know they are just trying to make sure that the newer members are in Fallclan for the right reasons, but I will probably have a talk with them when I get back to camp. I've noticed they are giving Thrushstar's children especially a hard time." He commented.
Bijou: Medicine Cat Den
"The moon creek? Can we go there? I would like to talk to my father if he is in Starclan. I think it would give me the closure that I need and I would know what happened to him." Bijou answered jumping to his paws. The excitement that he could possibly see his father again was slightly overwhelming and made him smile.
Softpelt nodded. "It's hard given that some members know what happened in SpringClan and are very worried the same could happen to us if we're not careful. But ultimately it's up to us set an example and help soothe our clanmates fears while making sure the members feel welcome. After all, if the newcomers see us extending kindness and acceptance they won't have reason to let what they were taught define us. They won't see us as 'stinky clan cats' as some loners and kittypets I knew used to put it. And our clanmates will eventually come around to see that they aren't as bad as they fear.
Inksplash : Medicine Cat Den
"I mean, if we go and wait for my mom and Dovecaper to be done, maybe StarClan'll be open for a visit." Inksplash mused, her eyes lighting up at the happy look on his face. 'He looks kind of cute when he's happy.' She rose to her paws as well tail flicking behind her. "If we leave now and are quick we'll get there in no time." there might be some reprimanding for abandoning her post, but if she played it off as like her hunting with Bijou and being 'nice' to a cat, her mother would prolly forgive her.
“I’be come to trust Bijou and his siblings. They all proved their worth here in Fallclan. Regardless of what their past is I don’t think it defines them.” Dovecaper commented as the padded through the borders. At the end of the borders where the end of Winterclan and Springclan met laid the Moon Creek. From the distances it was breath taking. “We are here?” He asked questioning Softpelt.
Bijou : Leaving Camp
“We need need to hurry before the night is over. There is no time to waste Inksplash!” Bijou meowed turning tail and leaving the Medicine Cat Den and slipped out of the camp. Not turning to see if Inksplash was hot on his tail or not.
( hey I didn't know if you wanted to maybe after this thread is done sort of do an aftermath thread between Bijou and Inksplash and we could maybe start seeing how well these two mesh together?)
Softpelt nodded as she quickened her pace, the moon high in the sky, making her glow in the moonlight. "Yes," She meowed. "And our ancestors must be waiting."
Inksplash : Territory
Inksplash quickened her pace easily matching him as she ran alongside him. "You're not wrong, fortunately my mother's not the quickest cat, if we do bursts of speed we should be able to get to the moon creek before the ancestors... I dunno go back to resting or whatever they do after they meet with medicine cats and leaders."
(awesome okay I thought it would maybe idk be a place to build their relationship off of )
Dovecaper : Moon Creek
The deputy padded down the hill side towards the Moon Creek. As the Moon Creek came more into view and they grew nearer to the site. Dovecaper felt his heart begin to race. There was no going back now.
Bijou : Territory
Bijou hadn't slowed his pace. He was determined to get to the Moon Creek. His hope soared with each paw step. "I've never actually believed in Starclan, until I moved to Fallclan. When I lived in Springclan I thought it was a joke or some weird custom that the clan cats had come up with, and when I was younger I didn't understand it." He admitted.
