Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Bear, the tortoiseshell colored manx cat, trotted through the alpine forest. The winter breeze barely got through their thick winter coat as the continued further towards the mountains.
"There has to be cats out here; I know there are", the words whirled around in their brain like the snow falling around them, "Would they accept me, am I heading in the right direction, what if they attack"? Despite their thoughts bear bolted along the dense forest.
The lean silver tabby spotted Bear and tilted his head curiously before bounded toward them. "Hey," he called, relaxed but with an edge to his tone. They were too far apart still for him to recognize the other cat, so Sleetpaw picked up his pace a bit to close the distance.
After hearing a distant call, Bear slowed their pace, their heart beating faster. Perhaps these are the cats Bear was looking for?
"Time to asses the outcomes" Bear mumbled under their breath. If the cats tried to fight Bear, their victory could win them a spot in a clan; they kept the possibility of defeat out of their mind. Or even better, Bear thought, the cats might recruit them right on the spot.
They try to make their pelt lay down flat as it had begun to bristle in fear, "I mean no harm!" They exclaimed shakily as they did their very best to look calm and keep their claws sheathed.
As he loped closer he could tell this wasn't one of his clanmates. Sleetpaw narrowed his blue gaze but remained relaxed otherwise as he skimmed Bear over and took him in. The apprentice was lanky and tall, nearing warrior age, but he was too bony and lazy to be intimidating. "Yeah, I can see that," he replied, taking in his shaky voice and somewhat fluffed pelt. "You lost?"
He circled around him from a distance, trying to decide what to do. His tone was friendly but he knew he was supposed to attacking right now.
Bear watched as the cat circled and had kept one eye on him always, "I have run away from the life of a kittypet. I heard of cats living in the forest; I wish to hunt among them and learn from them." Bear hesitantly bowed his head. Noticing the cat's fluffed pelt they added, "I do not intend to do harm, and I would comply with whatever rules are intended for this land."
