Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Most days, Brilliance-chan spent her time training in a corner of the nursery. Even as a youngling, she worked exceptionally hard to prepare for her soon to be trainee-ship. No one minded, and she was left alone by most of the other younglings. Today, she wandered slowly through the halls of the main house, pressing herself against the walls as she watched everyone go about their days. Leaving, entering, interacting, arguing. It was what she expected, but it wasn't as terribly boring as it is around the nursery so she took it. Besides, cat watching was still work. Either way, she sat on one of the steps, leaning against the railing as her blue eyes darted from one cat to the next.
It was rare for Corax-kun to be left to her own thoughts. She wasn't bothered by her Leaguemates much, even if part of it was due to her power-crazed mother being proxy over the punishment district that she herself had little choice but to be a part of, but she didn't need to be. Oftentimes she'd have a sly voice whispering - sometimes growling or hissing - in her ears, eavesdropping on her deepest thoughts and leaving nothing untouched. However, for the moment the voice had nothing to say. That didn't mean the trainee was alone, though.
As much as she might hate the voice at times, at least there was one advantage to having another mind looking through her eyes. Outside of her own volition, her focus shifted from the steps ahead towards a bundle of pale-and-chocolate fur just far enough out of the away to be easily missed. The kit wasn't trained to avoid the gaze of a former nemesis, however, and so the silent voice picked her out easily. Corax shifted her route down the steps, eventually reaching the step Brilliance-chan was settled on. "What're you up to, kit?" she asked in a low voice, settling down right beside the youngling. She didn't look down at the younger she-cat - it was largely the silent voice's decision for her to keep an idle eye on her surroundings as opposed to the cat she was speaking to - but she did give her a quick glance as she waited for a response.

She jumped, turning to look at the other with wide eyes before settling down. More focused on those ahead of her than behind her, she didn't expect someone to come behind her and talk to her. She thought she was decently hidden, after all. And a trainee, no less. Still, she kicked herself some for letting it happen. Next time she'd have to press her back against the wall.
Shaking her nerves down, she turned to the other to give her reply, "Ah, sorry about that. I'm cat watching." Her voice was stiff yet genuine, tilting her head, "What're you doing?"
The voice forced a smirk into Corax's face at Brilliance-chan's reaction. Just the sort of response Raven loved, even if this time it was only surprise as opposed to the fear she longed to spark in others again. Corax forced down the sly look quickly, turning her mismatched gaze onto the youngling. She gave a low, thoughtful hum at the answer she got, glancing now towards the base of the stairs before she looked back at the younger she-cat. Cat watching. That would explain why she was trying to go overlooked. She didn't quite expect to be questioned in return and started at Brilliance-chan for a moment too long as she silently thought of how to answer. Eventually she meowed back, "Oh, my ma just sent me to go fetch something for her."

Brilliance-chan nodded. She turned back to stare down the stairs, blue eyes tracing one cat before shifting to another. She wasn't sure how to continue the conversation. Not entirely sure Corax-kun was telling the truth, but not having any reason to question her, she merely let that train of thought go. Her dark brown tail curled around her paws, the tip flicking about.
"Ok. If you need any help, let me know." She wasn't entirely sure why she offered. A trainee didn't need help from a youngling. And she could only go so far anyway. But she still offered it. Maybe she wanted to go do something else, despite only being here a short time. Or maybe she was curious about the she-cat with the mismatched eyes, like one was truly not her own.
The amused half-smile that crossed Corax-kun's face was her own for once. "I'm sure I'll be fine, but I'll keep that in mind in case I need it." Largely she turned down the youngling's offer due to her age, but it could be nice to have some cat willing to help her out. Assuming the offer stood any longer than this conversation, of course.
The black she-cat shifted where she sat, pressing her shoulder against the step above them as she leaned against the worn edge. Finally she took the time to give Brilliance-chan a proper look-over. She cast a critical gaze over the younger she-cat before giving her a warmer smile - far from friendly, but definitely much nicer than the norm for the League. "Name's Corax-kun," she meowed, moving a little closer to the youngling in the hopes that they might both go unnoticed by any more passing Leaguemates. "What's yours?"

Brilliance-chan wasn't surprised. There was no reason for her to offer it, and no reason for Corax-kun to take it. In a way, even she was amused by the whole thing, despite being the butt of it. She never had a lot of chances to offer help to others. Most were too prideful to take it and the rest didn't have the guts to approach her. Whether her offer would stand or not largely depended on how this interaction meant. She almost expected this to be the end when she felt Corax-kun move closer. Her fur bristled a bit, still sitting squarely next to the decaying railing. That errand must not be so serious if she had time to learn the youngling's names.
"Brilliance-chan. It's nice to meet you, Corax-kun." No one here was ever what they seemed, but she appreciated having a somewhat normal conversation with someone else.
