Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Chaman Lark. The she-cat had known she was next in line for the position, but it had still somehow blindsided her when she received it. Lark had spent most of her time in the Regime feeling like a background character- she was reserved, quiet, sweet. Unimportant. But she had climbed the ranks quickly, from Raiser to Chaman in a little over 13 moons. She had a mate and five kits of her own now, after losing her first litter.
It was weird, moving out of Post Kilo and into Headquarters once her kits were old enough. She had received enough training in herbs to be ready for the position, but she still had far less experience with sickness than other Guiders. She did have a special affinity for birth and kit raising, but she wasn't sure that would be enough. Only time would tell. The calico had wandered out to the garden to restock her herb stores, and was currently meandering among the plants, lost in thought.

"Good afternoon Chaman Lark." Zahira had decided that it might be time to come and congratulate the former Raiser Superior on her promotion. She was a newly promoted raiser herself so it only made sense for her to try to remain in the chaman's good graces. There didn't seem to be any sort of emergency going on at the moment after all so now would be the best moment to speak with her.
Lark turned to see her visitor, giving her a bright smile. She had trained Zahira in mass trainings, and was fond of all her former pupils. "Good afternoon Zahira," she purred lightly. "How is your new rank treating you?" The Regime had been relatively quiet lately, despite Limavady's betrayal and trial. The battle with Sunclan hadn't harmed any of the Raisers or tykes, which was a blessing. Ceremonies and promotions had always delighted Lark, watching the tykes she had formerly tended to rise through the ranks.
"I have been well. Post Kilo is much quieter now that Venus's tykes were promoted to cadet." Honestly, she had gotten used to having Post Kilo overflowing with tykes. It was a bit odd now that they had a smaller group to look after. It wasn't a bad thing, but she had to admit that she did miss the chaos of having over twenty little ones to look after all at once.
“I can imagine. They were a lively bunch, and it makes me feel old to keep seeing tykes promoted. Are my own children well?” Lark did feel guilty about moving out, though she was intentional about visiting her family daily. She trusted the Raisers who watched them, and they seemed to be adjusting well enough to her move. But she couldn’t know for sure how they felt about it.
"They are doing very well. Ares-tyke and Athena-tyke don't seem to get along very well at all, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they might actually be closer than they let on." Zahira was smiling as she said this. All tykes tended to have little arguments here and there. It was only natural. As long as they didn't get out of control, she tended to leave things be honestly.
“Good,” Lark breathed, still not quite believing her luck that her children were healthy and energetic. “And the other tykes in the Post? There’s no illness or behavioral issues?” Until a new Raiser Superior was chosen, she still had to keep fully updated on Post Kilo.
"Nothing has really happened that sticks out. Things are mostly peaceful for now at least." Of course that was subject to change at any given moment but for now, all was well.
"Good, good." Lark nodded to herself, glancing around the gardens. "Do you have a love interest, Zahira? Or do you have any interesting news for me? I must admit I'm behind on the gossip these days. It'll liven me up to hear about the romantic trysts of the younger generation."
Zahira's eyes widened when she asked if she had a love interest. "N-no! I haven't even thought of romance honestly." Of course she knew most talk here lately involving romances revolved around Cadet Pike who had just given birth to adorable twin toms. She was certainly young, but she and Mercenary Serenity seemed happy enough so she really couldn't bring herself to scold them.
"Why not?" Lark's voice was gentle and amused- she had come to enjoy learning about other's lives, now that she was fully content with her own. She had been at Pike's birth, and she had tried her best to put the she-cat at ease- she knew from her own life that giving birth young as a taxing experience.
"I suppose it really just isn't something that interests me. I have my work and the little ones to look after so for now that is enough." She was still young after all. She had time on her side and she was in no rush to find a mate or settle down. She didn't have to have tykes of her own to raise little ones after all so for now she simply didn't see the need.
