Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
One moon in, and training had taken a steep turn from before. Mercenary Cadets were being worked hard, waking up early, going to bed late, and the disrespect was virtually nonexistent, lest they be given extra, more difficult work to do as a result. Shule had a few simple rules that every cadet understood, and by now, she didn't need to tell them for the Head Cadet to have ensured they were already informed.
- You will not speak unless spoken to. If asked a question, you will respond with 'Yes, Superior', or 'No, Superior', loud and clear so that I and all the other cadets can hear you. If I want you to elaborate, I will ask you to. I am not your friend, I am your Superior, and you will call me such while on duty. If the Commander, Chaman, Superior, or Head Cadet asks something of you while on duty, your answer will end with 'Commander, Chaman, Superior, or Head Cadet' in accordance with their rank. If it is a full soldier of the Regime, you will answer with 'Sir, or Ma'am'. Only with Cadets or Tykes may you use a cat's first name while on duty. - While at attention, you will keep your head up and forward, and stay absolutely still. You will not twitch your ear or swish your tail, you will not scratch that one itch or move into a more comfortable stance. Get used to this. - When I tell you to do something, you will wait until I finish speaking then answer me 'Yes, Superior', and do it immediately. If you do not understand what I am asking, you will say so. If I tell you to be at ease, you may relax your body, but you may not sit, move from your place, or speak. If you have a question, you will raise your tail straight up and wait to be addressed.
- Mornings will start at the same time every day. This time of day, no matter whether it is greenleaf or leafbare, whether it's dark for an hour, or five while we are training, is when training will begin. You will be up and at attention by the time I or another Mercenary arrive. IF we are late, Head Cadet Aisling will be the one to start training. Each morning is to start with a run, followed by breakfast, and then other physical exercise. I do not care if you are tired, you will continue whatever exercise we are on until your training leader states otherwise.
These were the basics she'd outlined last time, and ingrained them in each and every Cadet's head. Instructions were clear, and these cats were pushed to the full extent of their abilities and beyond. Recently, they'd had their new promotions, and that was the first test of every Cadet each moon. They had to make sure their fellow cadets were not only made aware of what was expected of them, but that they understood how to perform as well.
"GOOD MORNING CADETS!" The Superior's voice rang out as she entered the post, ears twitching ever so slightly as she awaited the inevitable chorus of 'good morning superior' to be shouted back at her, each cat standing in neat rows with Aisling at the head, all of them at attention. It was an hour before dawn yet, but that was standard these days, and if things went smoothly, they would already have been up a half hour or more by now, had their time to relax, prepare, and get into position before she ever even arrived.
Cadet Opal was up, ready, and at attention just as she was supposed to be. She was the commander's daughter after all and the last thing she wanted was to make a fool out of herself during her first training session. "Good morning Superior Shule!" She tried her best to remain perfectly still as she spoke. She was supposed to be at attention after all. What if she caught her moving though? Would she tell her father? No, it would be worse. She wouldn't have to tell her father because she had heard that Superior Shule was far stricter than her father had ever thought of being. She needed to get this right the first time so that she didn't make a fool out of herself on her first day.
