Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Barrenfrost had invited Juniperpaw to come hangout with him and Snakefang. Lately he felt that WinterClan was getting soft, the poor apprentice probably didn't know how or when to be tough. He doubted Juniperpaw had even tasted cat blood in a battle before so he figured having Juniperpaw hangout with them wouldn't be such a bad thing. He was really crossing his toes that Juniperpaw wouldn't be annoying... With him was Snakefang, the only knight that seemed to be around at the moment. He had really only run into Snakefang once which was when he was an apprentice and was attacked by a cannibalistic psycho league cat. So maybe he had only run into Snakefang once, but it was memorable enough he was hoping Snakefang would be cool with Juniperpaw hanging out with them. Especially because he told Juniperpaw to just swing on by when the apprentice felt like it.
"Soooo," Barrenfrost started, "I invited an apprentice to come hangout with me and I was wondering if you could hang back with me because I have no idea how well I'm going to be with an apprentice. I've only dealt with apprentices when they were my prisoners so maybe you and I could tag team it?" He asked Snakefang.
(Good callback by the way! I had totally forgot that happened but the name looked real familiar haha)
He shrugged. "I dont see why not," Snakefang replied to Barrenfrost. It had been some time since he had seen the young cat. The last time he had seen him, if his memory holds, was when a vile cat, Razorkiss, attacked the camp looking to prey on one of the prisoners. Back then, Barrenfrost was a sadistic young one, but now he's a Knight. In a way he was proud of him and curious to see what he had to teach his apprentice. Despite that, he was admittedly a little jealous of him, since he didn't have an apprentice of his own.
Juniperpaw had been confused when Barrenfrost had, out of the blue, asked him to hang out. It just seemed odd, especially since Barrenfrost wasn't his mentor, but he'd agreed and was even bringing a large bird he caught while out with his class. Hopefully, it'd help break the awkwardness if they were eating. The orange and white fluffy tom was surprised when he found not just Barrenfrost but Snakefang as well. Glancing down at his bird, he realized he didn't have enough for everyone, opps. "Umm...hi."
The tom turned his gaze toward the newcomer. "And you must be Juniperpaw, right?" he responded, acknowledging his presence. He looked over the apprentice, sizing him up. He's seen him around camp but due to his position, didnt interact much with the younger cats. He returned his eyes to Barrenfrost. "The little one is here. This is your idea so what's the plan?"
(Yeah, I loved that rp! It had been Innocentia that attacked them, I think Razorkiss was helping them out. I know she wasn't the culprit because she's secretly Barren's real mom. Also sorry for vanishing!)
"Sup?" Barrenfrost said casually before snapping his gaze onto Snakefang, "Uh yeah, I was thinking we just go to the border and show you what it's all about to protect WinterClan's reputation. Ground rules are no running off on your own and just follow our lead. I'll give you a little nudge if I need you to take it back a notch, but honestly I'll be impressed if you overkill this more than I do," He grinned.
Barrenfrost was the kind of guy that was great to be your friend and bad to be your enemy. Typically he put up with annoying clan mates, but anyone outside of WinterClan had to watch out for him. He was known for chasing cats for miles and even when the cats ran onto other territories he'd still trail after them never once getting punished for intruding. Few cats even attempted to travel near WinterClan's border after reports of cats going missing near there started to spread. Barrenfrost was originally training to be a prison guard after all.
He lifted his massive snow leopard looking body and set off.
(Oh yeahhhh, I remember now. We should totally bring that plot back. But you're fine; your wellbeing comes before all else)
Snakefang nodded and glanced over to Juniperpaw. "Well, let's get a move on then," he said as he started to follow Barrenfrost. In the back of his mind, he hoped there was an intruding cat that they could torture. Lately, things have been a bit too quiet and he was getting bored. It had been a while since he had gotten into some action. When
Barrenfrost led the way over to FallClan's border. Although they typically served the less amount of action they were also one of the few clans he could infuriate into stepping over the border. Summer and Spring were too docile and usually took his verbal abusing, although it kind of made them smart for not falling for his trick. Barrenfrost was almost certain that Summer and Spring had no idea it was a trap in the first place and were just too soft to stand up for themselves.
When they neared the autumn color border he tasted the air for any scents and surprisingly found a fresh scent, but instead of FallClan it smelled like rogue. He grinned for half a second, "Perfect."
His eyes narrowed on a small form in the distance, an apprentice aged tom. He nudged Juniperpaw, "Hey you could totally take that guy, he's a rogue. And if he goes crazy or whatever we have your back, but I don't know, want to give it a shot? You have the element of surprise after all."
Juniperpaw scrambled to keep up, a little confused on the back and forth batter the two had. To him, it seemed like an inside conversation that he didn't understand, oh well. Maybe they knew something about his mother. It wouldn't hurt to ask, and it would give them something to talk about. But maybe they wouldn't want to talk about her either, since she left WinterClan and all. That idea was thrown out the window when Barrenfrost spoke up. "What's perfect?" He searched for what the other cats saw, finding the blurred image of an outsider. He wasn't skilled yet, but he'd try; at least to attempt to impress these older and more experienced cats. "Sure, I..I can give it a try."
Snakefang smirked as he glanced back at the apprentice. "Go for it, Juniperpaw, you got it," he encouraged. He eyed the stranger in the distance. The cat didnt seem threatening but at that distance, he didnt know for sure. Looks can be deceiving. If anything were to happen, they at least had strength in numbers. But knowing Winterclan cats, there shouldnt be any problems taking on a single cat. He narrowed his eyes. Something felt off about this though but he couldn't place what it was.
The black apprentice in the distance seemed to be playing in the snow and was distinctly trying to stay near WinterClan's borders for this exact reason in case someone saw her and wanted to fight. Of course Sable-kun didn't realize that WinterClan wasn't afraid of going over the borderline to catch outsiders. Her white bengal paws blended perfectly in the snow as she bounced back and forth in the piles of snow, unaware of the WinterClan cats watching her.
Barrenfrost gave another encouraging nod, no problem, Juniperpaw could definitely handle this, especially with the element of surprise on his side.
