Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Rustyheart had been placed on 'mandatory medical rest', as the clan liked to call it. What a fancy name for a prison. She sat in the back of the medicine den, the entrance guarded by at least one warrior at all times. Thus far, she hadn't left her nest, just stayed curled up and refused to eat or drink anything for two days now. The former Guardian half wondered if they'd force her to eat or drink too. Right now, she didn't really feel like it. Not to mention, she was content to sit here, watching the rotations, silently figuring out how she'd go escape. She could go to the Regime. They had been WaterClan's allies. If anyone could help her find Chimerahunt, it was them, right? She just had to figure out how to convince them.
Her green eyes only just barely peeked over the moss of her nest as she heard the sound of someone unexpectedly entering the den, only to bury her face in an instant, body stiffening as she recognized 'deputy' Wyverndelirium.
Nodding solemnly to the warrior on duty, the deputy brushed past and into the medicine cat’s den, pausing in the entrance to look over his younger sister. He loathed to see her brought so low, but what could he do? She had done this to herself. She had fought longer and stronger than she should have, and she could have died, and she was lucky to still be here and healing.
“You should eat. This isn’t the first time you passed out recently, and is this really the hill you want to die on? You want to give up your life for what— pride? Honor? Chimerahunt?” He shook his head slowly. “He’s not worth that, and it won’t help him.”
"Riverwolf is a traitor. Think anything else, and you're either dumb, or willfully ignorant. By agreeing to be his 'deputy' in this farce of a leadership, you're just as bad as he. I'd say go back to SummerClan, but mom might just die of disappointment." Rustyheart was bitter, and while Chimerahunt was not here, she'd do well enough as his replacement. "If you're not going to let me out to patrol, at least leave me alone in my prison." Though she'd been angry at him before, in her youth, and when he refused to support their brother, she'd always loved him. When her head rose to lock eyes with him now, there was none of that internal warmth left. The orange feline's soul was devoid of any sort of love for the cat before her, he may as well have been dead for all she cared. Her clanmates, she could understand being blinded by Riverwolf's charm. Her brother turning on not only his brother, but his own leader, was unforgivable.
His jaw clenched as Wyverndelirium sough his calm. He knew she would be angry, that she would lash out at him and his leader, but he had to control himself. He was a deputy, and better was expected of him; he would not bow to the insults of a fallen guardian.
"Chimerahunt is missing and he's not coming back. Violetstar has proven herself incapable. Do you expect us to support no leader? Riverwolf volunteered, and we should be grateful to have such a strong and loyal warrior looking after us," he reminded her patiently, tail tip twitching. "Once you're feeling better you can go on patrols again and rejoin the clan. You're not a prisoner, you're just still... adjusting."
His stance shifted and he sighed. "I know you're angry," he told those hateful eyes, "but you'll understand soon enough. I did the best I could, for the clan."
"Violetstar would have been fine if you'd believed in her. And if you ever cared about Chimerahunt, then you'd be worried sick about where he is. Even I know this is odd for him, and I saw him when we were dealing with ripple cough. He wouldn't leave. As for leading, I said I'd support any cat but Riverwolf, said I'd even step up myself, since you refused to trust Violstar. Instead, you ignored me. So I don't want to hear it. You're not doing the best you can, you're supporting a coup. Talk to me when i can go on patrol again." She'd patrolled in far worse conditions than she was currently in. Wyverndelirium was deluding himself if he thought she was here because she needed to be.
"Of course I care about him," he snapped back, "I've spent far too long caring about him when he doesn't care about any of us. He's my brother, I know him better than the rest of you, and I'm telling you he left. He was never meant to be a deputy." He hissed between his teeth and took a deep breath.
"I would have supported another leader if there was an option, even myself, if the clan wanted it. But the clan wanted Riverwolf, so we should respect their wishes. He had the most support."
