“Thanks for the chat,” the ginger tom told the mercenary as he was shuffled into the prison. He waited a few heartbeats for the sound of exiting paws before he turned and started to pace the entirety of his new home, examining it all with his half-stare, searching for a way out. Violetstar would kill him for being in here too long.
Chim scowled. She was the one who got him in here, anyway, her and her confidence and faith. Maybe if she wasn’t trying to inspire him all the time, or if he had the good sense not to listen, he wouldn’t be in this mess. Remedy his mistakes of the past? What a mousebrained idea he’d had.
The deputy stopped and lifted his head as he heard more cats arriving and growled lightly, suspicious. He was determined to keep his wits about him this time instead of losing it to nerves like he had when he met Evelyn.
"Quit dragging your paws and hurry up!" Sabre's annoyed voice could be heard from a distance as he pushed his former cadet ahead of him. He didn't care if he was the guider superior now or not, he was still the same hairbrained tom he had always been in his eyes. He had tagged along with him to see to Chimerahunt. He knew that the commander planned on removing him from the prison very soon and chances were he wanted him to be in decent health for that move.

"Okay, okay." Meepo's little laugh sounded after Sabre's, obviously accustomed to his grumpy demeanor. The guider superior skipped up to his former mentor's side. "So, do you think he's nice? I hope so. It would be nice to make a friend in Waterclan, don't you think?" He chattered on happily.
Chim scowled at the approaching voices. Two cats: they must be worried about him attacking and trying to fight his way out. Well, they weren't wrong; he wasn't stupid enough to think he could escape, but he might be tempted to try just so he could take out a few of his enemy before he went down. He knew he didn't have the skill to take down mercenaries, he'd learned that the hard way, but he wasn't a fan of picking on the easy prey of healers either.
"Yes because throwing one of our allies in the prison with Foxstar and Limavady is definitely going to make him want to be your friend." Sabre's voice was sour with sarcasm. "Commander Mars has lost his mind if you ask me, but he's always been a stubborn one, even when he was a tyke..." He shook his head but continued on to Chimerahunt. "We brought food and medicine." His voice was gruff, but not aggressive. "You will be moved from the prison very soon and the commander wants to be sure you are healed properly." Of course he shouldn't be here in the first place, but he supposed common sense wasn't something that appeared all that often in his family.
The ragged ginger tom looked up at the pair warily, his torn ears pulled back. "So you're taking me back to the surface? Excellent, I don't think I'd last another day down here in these damn tunnels." His lip curled with bitter mirth because he knew well the chances he'd be housed on the surface were extremely slim. The tip of his tail twitched irritably as he debated attacking them, then just straightened up and stalked closer to glare into Sabre's eyes. "And if I don't take your... gifts?"

Meepo giggled as he watched the exchange between Sabre and Chimerahunt. They were so much alike in so many ways that it was simply funny to him. He whisked his little tail and placed the prey down in front of the Waterclan tom. "Okay, if you don't want them then I'll just leave them right here in case you get hungry later." The small brown and white tom purred with a little wink. Even his belly growled at the scent of the prey. "The herbs you're going to have to deal with. It's for your own good. Nobody wants to die of an infection." He meowed lightly and took a step towards Chim. Innocence sparkled in his deep cocoa eyes, but he knew better than to just start working on the tom's scratches.
His brow furrowed and he growled lightly as the tom moved closer, but it was half-hearted at best. As much as he wanted to be spiteful and take the risk of infection he knew he would regret it once it set in, and there was no way he would attack a healer anyway, not even the older one. His tail twitched again before he let his hackles fall and nodded, sitting down. "Fine, but make it quick," Chim muttered. At least his scratches weren't deep.
"I doubt he will give you a place to stay on the surface, but surely you don't intend to stay down here with a prisoner of war and a traitor." Sabre honestly hadn't wanted to come in the first place. From what he head heard of Chimerahunt, he was convinced that he was going to be nothing but a pain in the tail the entire time he had to deal with him. "You'll have to take any complaints you have up with the Commander himself, perhaps Superior Shule or Superior Conrad could help as well, but your complaints might fall on deaf ears."
"My kind of people," Chim replied absently, though he didn't say it with feeling. His lip curled with bitter amusement at the names of the leadership. "Mighty difficult for me to talk to them if I'm stuck down here, isn't it? You going to carry a message for me?" He arched a brow at Sabre.
"Did you not just hear me? The commander is removing you from this area. You most likely won't be going to the surface, but you will not be in the prison." Sabre had rolled his eyes as he looked at Chimerahunt. "Honestly...The youth of today have no sense whatsoever." Of course, Sabre wasn't the oldest cat in the Regime, but he was older than most of the other guiders at this point. Of course anyone who actually called him old would most likely have clawed ears at the end of things.

"Ah, don't mind him." Meepo told the Waterclan deputy, flashing a cheeky smile to Sabre. "He comes off as all tough and gruff, but I know he's a softie at heart." The little tom let out a purr and continue to apply ointment to Chimerahunt's scratches. "Oh, eat this, by the way! It'll give you a bit more strength." He pushed a pawful of herbs forward as he spoke. "I know it must wear on a cat to be in this stuffy place. You'll be out in no time! And don't worry, the tunnels are even better than the outside!"
