The little molly's chest ached with the bitter bite of cold. Her pale cream fur comfortably mixed with the mossy warmth of her nest; but it did no good in chasing the chill away. Her eyes peeled open in an unhurried way. She yawned, showing rows of pointed teeth before rising and stretching each limb in turn. She'd been settling in nicely with WinterClan, ever since she and her Uncle had proven themselves favorable. She was still cast doubtful looks from cats who probably still didn't trust her. But Opaldust wouldn't let that deter the will to prove herself under the eyes of these winter cold cats. She rose with Dawn, though she didn't know what she wanted to do with the day. Hunt, perhaps? Shaking her winter thick pelt out she decided she might as well play it by ear today. Might as well have a bit of fun if there weren't anything worth catching today.
From a distance, there was a set of skeptical eyes were watching one of the clan's newest members. While he himself was only half-winterclan, few questioned that he and his siblings belonged among the ranks of WinterClan. They had been brought here by their father when they were very young, and had been raised to be very loyal to their new home. He had never even met his mother, nor seen the group she was from.
Even he found it hard to accept that these two cats just wanted to join WinterClan out of the blue. They lived on a mountain, in a land covered in snow. It wasn't exactly the type of place that one went without reason. Melodykit had made it his mission to figure out the true reason why this cat was here. After a while of simple observations, he trotted over to her side. "Scuse me miss, but I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you. I'm Melodykit"

She twitched an ear in surprise as a much younger voice than her own called out to her. The dilute colored Siamese she-cat glanced down to look at the approaching Youth and she offered a kind smile. "Hi, Melodykit. I'm Opaldust," she greeted with a serene expression, sitting in one easy and fluid movement. Seems she would have to put a hold on hunting or patrolling today. Not that she minded, this was the first of cats to address her with a slight trace of formality. She'd take what she got. "Your very polite for a Youth."
"My aunt is the Crowned, so it tis only natural" he paused, with a little smile. "She taught me how to speak properly"he wasn't close to his aunt, but he often used his relation to her to his own advantage.
"I heard that WinterClan had some new members, so I thought that it would only be proper to come over and formally introduce myself. Opaldust is a beautiful name, but not one that I have heard before. May I ask why you choose such an unusual name?"

She felt her smile only sour slightly, being able to pick up on the tom's boast about his Aunt because she herself had been young. Though it probably wasn't any real harm, so she brushed it away and instead decided to amuse him by answering his question. "My mother named me Opalkit, when I was very young. I'd already been an apprentice when I left my old home. After that me and my Uncle came here, and I was given my name. After I passed the trials, of course."
"Hm, I wonder what Opal means...." he said aloud even though it had been meant to be an internal thought. "Well why did you leave and come here of all places? Were you running from someone? Family drama? and why here? it's cold and isolated"

She smiled half to herself at his questions, patient enough to answer most of them as honestly as she could. And though she wouldn't ever truly delve into how hateful her previous Clan and family had been, it had definitely been the reason her and Ghostmemory had left. Deciding to answer the first question, she said, "And Opal is a gem. My old home used to have a cavern full of them. They... kind of look clear, but they also look as if they hold a rainbow. I'm not sure why my mom named me it, but she did and I've been suck with the name ever since."
Sinking onto her chest so that she was more level with the kit, she answered his final question. Or, questions. "My Uncle and I weren't happy with how our previous Clan was being run. And by that I mean... if wasn't a safe place to be. Though we were initially searching for refuge, we found WinterClan to be a wonderful home."
"So you fled to here of all places? Just because you didn't like your old clan.. "he replied a skeptical look upon his face "As much as I love WinterClan, this is not exactly the most welcoming of places. Most cat's wouldn't brave the mountains, much less get to the top where it is so cold and icey. If you were going to run away, why didn't you go somewhere warmer?"
