Head Cadet Ambrosia walked along the typical border patrol trail, "And of course don't eat any weird berries or walk off with any strangers. And remember it's always polite to question someone at the border and not to attack them because medicine cats sometimes travel onto foreign land and a medicine cat is like a chaman and you just don't attack those-"
Cadet Ambrosia had been babbling on for a long time now about safety and protocols. Even going as far as to quote past mercenaries and commanders. She seemed to finally calm down once they arrived at the border and began marking her scent. She lifted her head a bit in concern and waved her tail at her patrol. She caught the scent of SunClan at the border. Her eyes widened as she saw a massive pool of blood in the distance and let out a gasp before nodding to her patrol and sinking low to the ground and she began to approach. Normally if it was just SunClan's scent she would report back immediately to Commander Mars, but the scent and a blood? One of their own could be hurt or worse! They had to act now.

She had listened to the head cadet's speech with mild annoyance and slight amusement. Surely she wasn't this talkative as a cadet? Actually, she was probably a pain in the tail to Mars. A smile rose to her maw as she remembered her own training days. The commander had been her mentor when he was the superior. She had felt so honored to be chosen as his cadet. It was probably a similar feeling that Cadet Ambrosia had now.
As they neared the border, Beryl's pelt prickled in alarm. She had been instructed not to intrude on the cadet's patrol unless absolutely necessary. The stocky black she-cat braced her muscles for a fight. There was no way she could let these young cats fight a Sunclan border patrol, but she had a bad feeling about what they were about to meet.

"Could you just... shut up?" Kaisra mumbled under her breath as the Head Cadet just kept one talking, though it appeared Ambrosia either didn't hear her, or didn't care. When the familiar scent of her former clan, however, hit her nose, her ears pricked, and she racked her brain to try and place the scent to specific feline, or felines, who it might belong to. Unfortunately, the scent of blood made that a tad more difficult. Now the question was, who was hurt? A Regime cat, a SunClan cat, an outsider? The obvious answer was the first one, but they sort of had to wait an see. Until then, she crouched low, sliding slowly forward after Ambrosia, curiosity flickering across her face.
Honestly...How long was she going to talk? Did she even realize that he and Kaisra had lived in the clans before? They knew what a medicine cat was and they weren't idiots. Well...He didn't really want to start an argument either since Cadet Ambrosia did technically hold authority over them. He would just have to hope that this patrol went quickly so that they could return to the tunnels and get as far away from Ambrosia as possible.
Blood was the last thing he expected to find at the border. Was SunClan invading again and who did this blood belong to? Well, there was only one way to find out. They would have to track down the source. What if it led to a SunClan patrol though? Would they really be able to fend off an entire patrol on their own? They weren't even full Mercenaries yet. They couldn't go back to Mars without learning more though. If they didn't know what they were dealing with, how would Mars know how to deal with it? His gaze flicked towards Beryl for just a moment before he turned to follow Kaisra and Ambrosia.
(So I may actually know of an injured SunClan cat that is being sheltered on RR territory cx)
Xuxa was standing over the SunClan apprentice Duskpaw. Duskpaw's entire shoulder was damp and bloody with the wound already turning to a dark inky color. Xuxa's claw was inside Duskpaw's wound when she turned to look at the patrol. On instinct she hissed, the sound coming off wobbly and haunting, but recognition seemed to soar past her eyes as she dipped her head to the patrol.
"I found this outsider, I think he has information, sorry for the mess," Xuxa said.
"Oh yikes. Um. Mmm... Is this allowed?" Head Cadet Ambrosia asked turning to look back at Beryl.
Sure if the guy was a warrior she could understand, but the entire time approaching the scene before knowing what was going on she was fearing a SunClan cat might have one of their cadets. Now it was the other way around and this didn't seem acceptable either. What if the apprentice was just following orders? He wasn't old enough to just decide to leave his clan even if it was bad, he would never make it.
"Actually she dragged me onto your territory," Duskpaw corrected through a strained voice that otherwise sounded perfectly chill despite the situation.
"... Lies. Though like I said I found him," Xuxa said, "If you'd like you can observe what an interrogation looks like. Might be beneficial."
Xuxa was the type of cat everyone knew everything about before even becoming cadets and even to Serenity and Kaisra her story had been told due to her ties to Kotori. When she was a tyke Kotori murdered her mother in front of her and when she recovered and grew her confidence back she became a spy cadet only to get tormented by Innocentia leaving her with maimed body. Her right ear was gone entirely, there was one long scar wound that went from her eye to down across her flank. Her eyes were pink where they should be white. She looked like she could have been a very pretty fox figured cat if it weren't for her wounds and even her voice seemed to come off choppy and haunting from the choking and head bashing that messed up her speech. It was almost hard to see her as an abuser when every part of her screamed victim.
Perhaps it was hard to see Xuxa as an abuser in any other light, but in this situation, Kaisra couldn't particularly care less. She recognized the voice, the appearance, and finally the scent of her own brother, and before she really thought about what she was doing, she lunged, using half-sheathed claws to grab at Xuxa and push her away from Duskpaw. "Let him go!" Her voice had dipped instantly to a snarl as she forced her way in between the apprentice and Spy, protecting the SunClan cat. "You okay Dusky?" The ebony feline questioned, turning her gaze from glaring at Xuxa to looking at him with concern.
It wasn't necessarily a surprise she knew him, after all, she had been a SunClan cat not long before. However, to anyone who didn't realize they were related, well, this hardly looked good for the Mercenary Cadet, helping out a cat from the clan who'd attacked them.
"Don't hurt him! He's family!" Serenity at least knew that it would be best to explain themselves so they didn't get in trouble but he quickly followed Kaisra to stand in front of him. "Lets at least hear him out ok?" He had to have a reason for being here even if that reason was that he had simply been drug over the border. He didn't think that He would come all this way without a good reason though.
Xuxa hissed and with unsheathed claws clipped Cadet Kaisra roughly across the face, "Tr-Traitor!"
She could hardly keep her fur from spiking up. Ever since Sean's litter came back she had been trying not to judge them. Trying not to see them as anything, but potential killers like Kotori had been. Now they were siding with this SunClan cat. Who knew, maybe Serenity and Kaisra were actually spies, SunClan seemed to do pretty well in a battle with no light for a clan that lived above ground. They had to have been told some kind of information to fight so well, information from perhaps them...
"Hey! Don't hurt a member on my team," Head Cadet Ambrosia hissed at Xuxa.
Xuxa snarled at the cadets, "Cadets should know better than to interfere with a spies job. Regardless of relationships," She added coldly.
She watched the cadets every move noticing that they were still guarding her target, "Each of you move to a tree and stand facing it. Now."
Xuxa gave a warning look to Beryl for her not to interfere before waiting on the cadets to follow through on the order.
Head Cadet Ambrosia looked to Serenity and Kaisra, but her eyes gleamed with affection, "I will stand by you, whatever you choose."
Duskpaw looked like he could stand up, but whatever he'd been through he'd been going through it for a while. His wound was black because it had scabbed over, but was leaking red again from Xuxa reopening it. His gaze looked a bit unfocused and weirdly clouded when it usually pierced a perfect turquoise blue color, "I was just playing pretend," He managed to mumble out to Serenity, but things didn't add up. His wound was deep, but he looked like he could make a run for it, even now, but everything about Duskpaw seemed groggy, like he wasn't in control of himself.

The low growl in Kaisra's throat was dangerous, entirely unlike her usual chaotic and happy self. Xuxa, for as long as she would insist on hurting Duskpaw, was her enemy. "The day I let you lay another paw on on my brother is the day you explain to my mothers why I am dead at your paws, the day you explain to Commander Mars why both the Mercenary Superior, and DayClan leader are out for your blood. We are taking him to the Guiders, and you will not stop us. You are not my Head Cadet, not my Superior, not my Commander, and you are most definitely not my friend or a member of my family."
Her head lowered slightly, a lethal calm to her shift in stance as she stared down the Spy without an ounce of fear. Blood dripped down the left side of her face, turning the white wisps gruesome crimson. She was a leader, born and bred, trained by her mother, the League's best assassin, and her other mother, the Regime's perfect soldier. "From this point on, Dusky is under my protection, and you can take your protests straight to Mars. We look forward to the Commander's arrival."
Confrontations were definitely not his strong point, but in this instance, he knew he had to stand his ground. "While we are supposed to listen to soldiers that are older than us, I cannot follow your order. "Doesn't the Regime take care of it's own? You can't attack us or deem us a traitor when we've done nothing but stand up for someone that has done nothing wrong that we have seen. Do you have proof that he has the information you need? Without proof all I see is an unwarranted attack when things are already pretty complicated at the moment. Do you want to risk our alliance with DayClan? I doubt the commander would react well to that."
Honestly, while his tone was calm and even, inwardly he was shaking. He had always hated direct confrontations which sometimes made him doubt his decision to become a mercenary instead of a scout, but at this point he was far too stubborn to change his mind. Sure they might be punished after this, but that was preferable to leaving Duskpaw to Xuxa. He had hardly registered Ambrosia's comment at this point since he was more focused on Xuxa and his brother but he did at least glance in her direction before quickly looking back.

Beryl was amazed at how quickly the scene unfolded and unraveled. Bunching up her muscles, she leapt between the cats and glared at each one. "That is enough." The jet black Mercenary growled. Her eyes snapped to Xuxa, furious but understanding in a way. All of the parties thought they were doing the right thing, sort of. She could not argue with the Spy's reasoning after the last Sunclan attack. However, the little scrap in front of them was just an apprentice. "Xuxa, Kaisra. Come with me. We will take this tom to Superior Shule and Commander Mars." She instructed the two she-cats shortly. "And I don't want to hear any scrabbling about it. I don't care what rank you are, I'm here to watch over this patrol and none of you are thinking sensibly." Her voice was harsh and offered no room for disagreement. Her eyes then turned to the head cadet and Serenity. "Would you two go fetch the guider superior or chaman? He needs to be looked at."

Serenity nodded, but for a moment, he cast an uncertain look at Xuxa. He didn't quite trust that she would leave Duskpaw alone. He also wasn't sure what Kaisra would do if Xuxa tried anything. Chances are it wouldn't be pretty though and their mother was probably going to be upset as it was. Well...He assumed she would be. He didn't quite know Shule well enough to truly judge what her reactions would be. After a moment, he turned and hurried off. He supposed Duskpaw was going to need medicine so he would just have to hurry.
"I'm not carrying him an inch further," Xuxa said.
She followed after Beryl, but refused to even touch Duskpaw. Duskpaw didn't look so good and was slumped over to the side, hardly the threat Xuxa claimed he had been. Cadet Ambrosia had looked in doubt before, but now she looked as confident as ever. Cadet Ambrosia quickly got underneath Duskpaw and forced her paws to stand up fully carrying him onto her back as she slowly began to wobble over to Beryl. She was an older cadet, she needed to be able to handle this.

Beryl rolled her eyes at Xuxa's stubbornness, but at least the spy wasn't beating the daylights out of him. She would just have to count her blessings where she could find them. Her paws veered towards the hidden entrance to the main tunnels. Frustration prickled in her belly as she thought of all the land they didn't get to patrol. "Mousebrains." She thought with a snort before ducking into the tunnels. The outside air was much more warm and dry than the underground, but she hardly noticed it anymore.
When they got to the tunnel entrance Xuxa walked in first. She truly had no doubt that Commander Mars would be on her side, no one liked SunClan, especially him. Plus he had misjudged a few cats recently, surely he'd know who's side to be on and it definitely wasn't going to be a bunch of brainwashed cadets taking the side of another clan. Especially when she barely tore into the apprentice, nothing compared to what she went through as a cadet.
Duskpaw was limp, but rather than being unconscious from exhaustion he seemed to be stuck in a restless sleep flinching and twitching ever so often. Head Cadet Ambrosia gave a worried looked, she hadn't seen a cat injured like this. What were they going to do if Commander Mars wanted him off their territory? They couldn't even walk him out, he couldn't even hold himself up. Would they have to drag them back again? Would SHE have to drag him back to the border, it seemed apparent that Kaisra and Serenity wouldn't.
In direct contrast to the Spy, Kaisra knew her mother, and perhaps even Commander Mars, would be on her side. This wasn't just any cat. This was her brother. The cousin of the commander, son of the Mercenary Superior... and the son of Glowstar. Neither of her mothers would condone the senseless violence Xuxa had inflicted on their child, and neither would Kaisra. Duskpaw wasn't even a fully grown warrior yet. By SunClan standards, he wasn't even considered a full member, and few cats would want to tell him anything, knowing his background.
Serenity had already ran ahead of the rest of the group and was actively looking for Chaman Lark or Superior Meepo since they would be the best ones to treat his brother at this point. Xuxa couldn't say anything out of the way if a superior took him in right?
Xuxa snorted out a breath of air that sounded suspiciously like laughter as she watched Head Cadet Ambrosia struggle to help drag Duskpaw over into the tunnels. Truthfully Head Cadet Ambrosia had no idea why they should drag Duskpaw along when the person that endangered him in the first place was right there, but Beryl was also here so she hopefully wouldn't let anything bad happen to anyone. Still her eyes stared anxiously ahead, hopefully the chaman would come and help or if not Commander Mars would be here to tell Xuxa to stop tormenting apprentices, it seemed like something that SunClan would do, but not them...
"Beryl, do we really have to ask the Chaman to come? Whyhyhyy waste our supplies on him? He'll g-g-g-g-et over it on his own, rub some dirt in it and what-what not," Xuxa said.

"You know Xuxa. You act just like Kotori, you're even a Spy too. Should we be warning your family to watch out?" It was a low blow. No, it wasn't even that, it was simply downright cruel, and Kaisra knew only too well what her brother had done from the stories. She knew how the kits had watched their mother, San die at his paw, but even so, she couldn't help the words coming out of her mouths, calm and nonchalant, though the side glance she gave the Spy seemed to say it all. Xuxa had hurt her brother, a mere apprentice at that, and suggested things that would almost certainly lead to his death. If that got her in trouble, so what. The older she-cat deserved it.
