Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Ever since coming to WinterClan, he couldn't shake the feeling that he had been here before. Each step that he took felt like a path he had walked a million times, even out in the territory he never struggled the way most newcomers did with the dangerous terrain.
Then there was Barrenfrost. One of the knights, and yet he had seen that cat before. Where he could not place, but he also couldn't shake the feeling either.
The resemblance was striking and being a God dropped from earth it felt like... It felt like this young cat in front of him was just like him. He could feel it in his bones, that power. He was lucky to have a cat like Goldenstar there for as short as it had been to guide him, Grey, and Viola. This cat looked just like Goldenstar and if there was ever a time he believed that this cat was a reincarnate, it was now. But if it wasn't he would go to sleep tonight with a very angry Goldenstar snatching his sleep into the Dark Forest to lecture him about now comparing his greatness to this outsider. But... If he couldn't trust his instinct there was nothing he could trust. Regardless if this was a reincarnate or not, he could tell that this cat in front of him had greatness ahead. Another deity to rule beside him.
"It seems the world has brought us together," Barrenfrost said, his massive body squished the snow beneath his hemming way paws. He looked like a snow leopard by his fur and big tail, "You are born with greatness, do you feel that sensation in your bones? It's real. Trust it. You know there's something different about you and it's because you're not like the other cats, you have a higher purpose."
He slid down the hill closer to inspect the tom. He gave no warning as he invaded his personal space sniffing at the strange cat and looking him up and down.
"One is not born into greatness, that is something that you must work and strive for" he replied gruffly, a look that could kill crossing his face as his personal space was invaded. Yet, he didn't move away, instead he moved forward until their fur was almost brushing and he was looking directly into Barrenforst's eyes
"even then, most are never able to achieve it. A King can fall in a moment of weakness, and even a fool can rise if the correct opportunity presents itself. Greatness is something that must be earned by those born into the correct circumstances" he paused, giving the other cat a chance to move away from the intensity of his stare
"I have seen the way you look at me" he said bluntly his eyes flickering across the other cat's body as if inspecting him. He left if open ended, wanting to see just what he would say next.
Barrenfrost for the first time in his life gave a sympathetic smile, he was a young God, he didn't know yet, "Legends tell that people who are born with greatness is only because they suffered, sacrificed, and fought in their past life. I don't know who I or my siblings were before, but all I know is that the power I hold in my claws is because I earned it. Even if I can't remember it I know I was given this for a reason. You earned yours too whether you believe it or not. Whoever you were the power of the universe saw it only right to reward you. Embrace it."
(Barren's Mom: Barren, are you telling strangers their Gods again? Barren: Ugh. NO mom, I'm telling a God that they're a God. Jeez!
Barren's Mom: Barren honey, you gotta stop calling someone a God every time you get a feeling about them
But really this is so like Barren to just be like, "YOU. You're the chosen one," xD)
"I don't know you think I am" he paused, taking a moment to take in his reaction "but I am my own cat. I don't need power or greatness from another life. I walk a path that I will create with my own paws, not some destiny that someone else has set before me"
He waited, but there was something about Barrenfrost that he couldn't place. It was like Barrenfrost knew him, and perhaps this was the cat that would hold the key to unlocking the dreams that haunted him. Why visions of bloody lions appeared in crystal clear pools, why each step he took in this land felt like he had been here before. "Yet in order to move forward, it is important to understand ones past and present. This land, there is something about it. Each step feels like I have been here a thousand times, I know things that I should not..."
Barrenfrost suddenly was playfully jabbing his side, "And that's what being a God is all about! You just have intuitions like that, you see past what other cats see. You feel on a deeper level and you know more than any mortal could share. You can be any God you'd like, I mean at your own risk. My siblings and I would normally kill anyone we thought held deity blood such as ours, or well... Confine them, but I trust you because my Godly instinct is telling me to. So. What does your instinct tell you about me?"
Lion moved the offending paw off of him with his own, placing it down upon the ground with a firm look of reprimand. Perhaps this cat knew something of his visions, but that didn't mean that he would put up with being touched by anyone "You know something more than what you are saying" he declared boldly and simply. "even though we just met, you dismiss all formalities. You speak of greatness and gods, even though you do not know me. Who do you think I am?"
"I don't know, it's just an instinct," Barrenfrost shrugged as if instinct alone was the decider of every large decision in his life and truthfully... It probably was, "Instinct is all we're given at birth, I always find it's best to listen to it. Honestly, I feel you're the one not telling the whole truth, I just haven't pushed you on it. You haven't even explained why you're here and on top of it you come here speaking all mysterious all like, "Ah yes, I've breathed this silver frosty scent before. You know Barren, there are two kinds of warriors, those who walk on ice and those who fly above it all. But no, for to be chosen I am not, I am, as we all are, but a speck, a snowflake really traveling on the motherly gust of hush lullabies and whispery howls." Like that's exactly how you sound, where are you even from to talk like that?"
The tom shook the snow from his pelt "It's not my problem if you don't understand the words in which I speak" he turned from Barrenfrost, his own thoughts swirling around in his mind.
