Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Dusk dampened the light and coaxed out deeper shadows to dance under the last of the sunlight, the moon already visible on the horizon. Paws moved across these shadows but did not scatter them for the shadows knew no fear. Not like those who walked through them shivered under their grip; coats bristling as the shadows caressed their pelts as they moved through their embrace. Though the particular owner of these steps did not shrink within their hold but instead grew emboldened. Picking up pace until they were trotting a brisk path throughout the thick evergreens that cut out the sky above them.
Blue eyes crystal clear like a summer stream stayed peering ahead, not daunted by the growing dark; not tempted to dart around looking for monsters hiding in the dark. For monsters were his companions and had been with him throughout life longer than most others had been thus far. The Siamese pelted tom slowed as he reached the determined meeting spot the last of the runs rays falling into oblivion as he settled within the clearing and wrapped his tail around his paws. The moon slowly carving it's way throughout the darkening night sky to claim its rightful place within the sky.
Marchosais E'tan was many things but he was never late, well except when he had more important matters to attend to. But if asked he would claim he was never late and tonight was no different. Sitting within the clans gathering place and waiting to see if any of the invited leaders would actually attend. He had given no ultimatum, had gifted no incentive to arrive, but he hoped curiosity would be enough. Was confident that at-least one leader would investigate why the new Primal Instinct nemesis had sent a messenger to invite them to a meeting at nightfall, a day after the new moon.
Even after retiring from the league somehow there still wasn't a Nemesis she never met.
Glowstar sashayed down the dusted dirt path into the gathering clearing. Glowstar's gaze always seemed to have the same look of trouble no matter which way you looked at her. Her eyes sparked with a storm of green embers that edged between burning out and transforming into wildfires. Her stature was tall and her form hourglass shaped. She had glossy fur like a WaterClan warrior, but her muscle toned body was perfectly crafted to league standards. She truly was a fire storm. Her fur was an ocean of wild auburn cinnamon waves kissing up against the shores of her auburn bombshell coat and her signature grass stained green streaks still sported against her paw and pelt. Interestingly there was a blue feather hanging from either side of ears seemingly pinned in place by a small black stone.
There was absolutely no clan leader she wasn't willing to meet and Marchosais E'tan was no exception. She was starving for something interesting and this discussion looked delicious.
A smile parted across her lips like sunlight filtering through clouds, "I'm Glowstar of DayClan, pleasure is truly all mine," She said as she strode closer to the nemesis before dusting off the ground and taking a seat near him, her satin smooth tail curled neatly around herself. Her voice was like a soft song ending in a whisper, there was a gentle playful rhythm to the way she spoke. Addictive to hear and pleasing to the ear.

Watching her arrive the tom wondered if he perhaps had made a mistake in his past, not experimenting with she-cats. The thought left him quickly after as no matter how stunning an enterance Glowstar made he was at his core no more taken with her than one might be taken by a pretty bauble. It was nice to look at but Marchosais felt no need to have it. "Oh! How delightful, flattery already, this early in the night." The tom laughed with a crooked smirk as he dipped his head to her in respect. Not ready to ruffle feathers until all that would arrive showed up.
"Marchosais E'tan, though I'm sure my messenger mentioned my name in the invitation. One of the few things they were permitted to share." He hummed as he glanced at her sitting beside him, soaking in the silence of the night for a moment. Glowstar had been an expected arrival, if only as the tom had heard tale of her. As the crickets sung their night songs he spoke over them once more, this time his voice holding perhaps a little more maliciously inclined glee, "now to see who else might grace me with their company for the night. Though I suppose this has already proven not to be a lost cause; with at-least you showing up." He let out a morose sigh and gave her a pitiful look, a compliment that was also fishing for assurance.
"I am impossibly certain someone else will arrive. There are twelve other clans, it would be an absolute anomaly if no one else entered. You and I are closer to the gathering place than most other clans after all. I dare even suggest that I'm a tad early," Glowstar purred, her words warm like soft beams of sunlight. There was such a prejudice positiveness she had towards the future that it was almost mythical. Like she carried the same confidence as someone who could see forward into time.
Her black pelt was hard to see at first through the large trees that lined the gathering place, but the white markings on her face and chest were hard to miss even in the darkest of nights. Diamondstar crept like a bug fluttering towards the light as she stepped into the clearing. Careful steps left her farther from the other leaders than what they probably would have liked, but she was a creature of caution. She couldn't help it, really, no matter how much she tried. It was the kittypet in her, still living and thriving deep down in her repressed memories and emotions.
"My Marquess advised me not to come, but I was just too curious for my own good. Twolegs say it's what kills us, I say it's what makes us stronger."
"Diamondstar, Sovereign of WinterClan."

"Wonderful to meet you Diamondstar. Are you named as such because you are comparable to a jewel or would it be more apt to compare you to a rock?" He wondered allowed, blinking towards her with a tilt of his head. He had never quite understood clan names, some cats held names that described them and others seemed to just have a name hinting towards what their parents aspired for them to become. It was all rather baffling; he had met some cats who boasted their names proudly and others who seemed uncaring towards them either way. But yet they had whole ceremonies where they earned their names; so were they proud of their names or did they not care?
"Sorry that was perhaps rude of me." He mumbled, almost to himself as he tried to puzzle out if asking about her name was rude. Was it?
A small, sleek dark ginger she-cat with lighter ginger streaking her fur in swirling patterns stepped silently in the clearing. Unusually colored turquoise blue eyes swept the area before landing on Marchosais and seeming to identify him as the one that had sent the invite to the meeting.
"Greetings, I am Phoenixstar, leader of MoonClan." She only recognized Glowstar from the leader's subjugation of MoonClan that had only ended recently but Diamondstar was a completely new face to her. "I'm guessing you're the one that invited us?" she asked, directing the question to Marchosais.
(Blankslate I'm really curious as to what your profile pic is from?)
[ it's from Sirius the Jaegar! It's a really good anime I recommend it, has a really heart-wrenching ending. Yuliy and Mikhail deserved better. ]
"Yes I extended the invite, I thought it was time the league stand up for themselves." He smiled softly, thinking that he was perhaps revealing a peek at his hand to early in the game but at the same time feeling he needed to secure Phoenixstar's audience. The Moonclan leader seemed as if she was ready to walk away already, barley engaged in this impromptu meeting and not curious as to why Marchosais had called it. But he needed participation, was worried about his fun being dashed before it could even really begin. For this game to truly be played he needed at-least one of the leaders to entertain going along with this stunt of his.
Sugary sweet laughter escaped from her jaws, "You're too much," Glowstar said with a playful wave of her paw, "I'm certain Primal Instinct stood up for themselves when they went around attacking countless clans, typically unprovoked including MoonClan and my own as only a few to start with. Theeeen when they were last here at this gathering and Vera was about to murder Foxstar and kidnapped my husband. But I suppose by league standards Primal Instinct was just playing nice all those times."

The Summerclan leader arrived, not feeling quite as friendly or chummy as the leaders who had arrived here previously. While she generally held a kind and friendly disposition, that usually did not extend to other clans or those she did not explicitly trust. Comical considering her mate was from Winterclan. Her grey eyes slid over each cat as she regarded them, her thoughts and feelings hidden behind a calm caution. She would have preferred to bring Fogeye or Tuskblood with her but had decided they were needed more back at camp. The journey was a bit long but wasn't that bad in the grand scheme of things.
"You are Marchosais E'tan, Nemesis of the League, I presume? I am Ravenstar, leader of Summerclan." She introduced herself quickly but firmly. She would be a liar if she said she was not curious about the Nemesis. News travels quickly and she had heard this cat had recently risen in the ranks.

"hehe," Marchosais laughed alongside Glowstar though his smile was sharp and his eyes frustrated. He barley notice the Summerclan arriving on the scene at all, intent on the Dayclan leader. "And tell me Glowstar, do you expect me to carry the sins of those past leaders on my own shoulders then? Should I judge you for your past and persecute Dayclan because things done in the past by you yourself?" He hummed raising a brow. Leaning forward, blue eyes chips of ice, "and what of Sunclan's Foxstar? A tyrant in her own right from my understanding? You clan cats judge us league cats as monsters under the bed but you are all hypocrites." He pulled away with a scoff and looked away, unable to contain the shaking anger in his tone. "If I wanted my hunters to be monsters I would have them take lessons from Sunclan, from Winterclan, from the clans that persecute those who share different believes about fake gods." The rage a surprising emotion when one considered that the tom had only been a member of the league for less than a moon now. Though he wanted to say more, point out how there had been multiple clans that sacrificed their own cats for some nonexistent gods.
Expression smoothing out he turned and nodded as Ravenstar grew close enough and spoke her introduction. "You're correct and it's a pleasure to meet you. You've arrived at the perfect time in fact as I believe you will probably be the last leader to humor my request for a meeting." Taking a deep breath he composed himself, soothing his ruffled feathers so to as approach this more commonly. "I suppose now would be a good time to say why I wanted to meet."
"I'm hoping to change the way the league is perceived. I'd like to propose a cultural exchange of sorts perhaps?" He hummed.
I mean my best friend literally kidnapped and murdered me and I don't carry any hard feelings with her from that so like, you're totally okay... Aw man he's still ranting, poor guy.
"Mhmm," Glowstar mewed politely even though, yeah, Primal Instinct did attack DayClan for her sins and yeah actually DayClan would trust Primal Instinct way WAY more than SunClan. Not to mention he would be a liar if he'd say there weren't monsters in the league. She had been one and she knew that no matter what new nemesis came to the throne, the monsters born in the league would never be warded out.
"Go on," Glowstar gestured with a flick of her paw, but the interest was written all over her face.
Like exchange apprentices and trainees? Or maybe they'd exchange flowers or juicy pieces of gossip. The possibilities were endless and she found her mouth almost watering for that sweet sweet scrumptious info.
Marchosais pouted, such an about face one might glanced around to see if he had switched himself out for a twin he had hiding around. Seeing as Glowstar hadn't been moved by his theatrics he gave a petty little sigh and slouched some before rolling his shoulders and moving on as she requested. Well, he had enjoyed himself at-least there was that. "I was hoping to get one or all of you to agree to a cultural exchange. With out cats of-course. In the sense that I send a trainee to your clan for a month and I get an apprentice. Or if you're uncomfortable with that, an apprentice and a warrior for a hunter and a trainee. Or I could just send you one trainee if you're worried about violence."
"We of-course swear on one of our lives that those visiting won't be harmed in any way and I will treat your clan cats as honored guests. It's my hope we can learn more about one another and evolve." He hummed with a sweet little grin and a crinkle on the corner of his eyes, early pout and theatrics wiped away. Though he did resist the urge to bow for no particular reason other than feeling like it might be a fun thing to do.
Burningstar had slipped in to join the group of leaders, mostly unnoticed. She gave a friendly nudge to Glowstar with her muzzle before sitting down next to her friend while Marchosais described his plans for cultural exchange.
She liked the idea of it, she was always eager to have opportunities to interact... But Primal Instinct was still an unknown to her more than anything. She just knew the danger surrounding it, and though Glowstar had once reassured her that the league was just cats, she didn't think NightClan would be okay with it.
"While I am all for an exchange of this sort, you have to admit PI does have... a reputation for brutality." She said mildly. "though this discussion is nice, and I do appreciate the opportunity for us all to sit down, I'm going to need a bit more than your word alone before I send NightClan cats to the league. After all we have plenty of lives to lose and trade away," She thought of the scar on her throat that Foxstar had given her when she'd finally tried to make up for her guilty conscience in leafbare and set out to help free DayClan and SpringClan.
She wouldn't mind going to the league herself, or even perhaps sending Soaringbird if she absolutely could not... but an apprentice? One of her children or her nieces and nephews? Absolutely not. At least without something more than the word of a cat she didn't know.
She brushed up against Burningstar carrying two scars on her own throat, one from Foxstar and one from her mate. At this point Burning and her wore them like friendship necklaces, even Foxstar probably had hers from when she took her life underneath all that fur. For a moment she listened to Burningstar and was about to make her own vague statement about how they couldn't do this before realizing that even if she refused that Burningstar was her allies. If she also didn't refuse this and things went wrong this was bound to be her problem in a few moons. They either both agreed to it or both disagreed.
"Heh, excuse us for a moment, a little alliance talk," Glowstar purred to Marchosais E'tan before walking Burningstar far off to the side of the gathering place.
"Whatever decision you make, I'll make with you because if things do go wrong, we'll both have to be involved with it anyways. So maybe we should do some pros and cons listing?"
"Pros: New people! We make Marchosais E'tan happy and some of our apprentices get to visit somewhere they never got to go before."
"Okay and cons, the league could brainwash our apprentices and or possibly do SunClan's tactic where they get them to fall in love with someone so they don't want to leave and then the clan they originally came from doesn't want to attack them because the league has their past clanmate in there. There's also the fact that if the league trainees get good enough at training they would join the bright brigade and learn y'know. The secret thing. AND my biggest problem is that they'll know about the whole apprentices seeing ghosts thing. Okay maybe the biggest problem is the brainwashing, but you get the point, there's a lot of cons. I don't think we should go for this. I mean. Can you imagine Soaringbird sending her kits to this? Or your own?"
What she didn't say being still close enough to Marchosais E'tan that she could see him in the distance was that she couldn't endanger her family. There were family secrets and she didn't want the league to know about them. Especially when her kits still lived in the league, she couldn't let it endanger their lives.
(Imagine if Foxstar was here and agreed. Marchosais is just like, "Hey, here to pick up the trainees." And Foxstar's like, "Oh them? They didn't pass. They're all dead, sorry." xD)
Burningstar nodded along to what Glowstar was saying, her expression growing grim at Glowstar speaking aloud Burningstar's biggest concern. The fear for her nieces and nephews and her own children.
"I would love for there to be an exchange, but honestly, I'd really only be inclined to do an exchange of apprentices with DayClan, because we are allies, and I know you'd likely only show them things they never knew before. And a bit of excitement and chaos, all of which they'd truly benefit and learn from it..." She glanced back towards Marchosais, "For me, with sending them to the league; there's too many unknowns. I'm admittedly not entirely confident they'd return the apprentices, and as you said it's easy to trick a young cat, rather than an older one who will know when they're being fed lies. It feels like there's more at this current point in time for the league to gain, than for my clan to gain by sending apprentices to here. Even with a warrior. If I wanted to do an exchange, I'd go myself, not send those most vulnerable (aside from kittens)."
"So ultimately I agree with you, though could we perhaps come up with a watered down opportunity? For if the league, and Marchosais is truly interested in a cultural exchange between the groups, maybe there's something else we could try? I know gatherings are the typical fare, but maybe something a little different? A little bit more interactive?" She wracked her brain, a suggestion of small groups interacting and mingling between the clans... but then clans would fear the patrols sent could be attacking. On neutral ground, you'd just have a gathering. She pondered it for a moment longer before she shrugged. "Like I said, as things are now... probably best to say no. If another suggestion comes up for interaction that could be more beneficial and poise less risk though, I'd be open to hearing it."

Marchosais E'tan sat behind them humming lightly to himself, giving a goofy smile to Ravenstar, Phoenixtar, and Diamondstar. "I suppose they're going to turn me down. But what about any of you? wanna trade a few of your warriors for a few of my hunters? Or trade a few of your warriors for a few of my trainees if you think the trainees are less threatening to have within your camps." He sounded unbothered by the prospect of them all turning him down; he had expected his much. But Quartz and him, or more accurately he, had decided they should at-least give it a shot. If nothing else it opened up their thoughts to the prospect of the league becoming less monstrous than it perhaps was under Vera's reign.
Of-course this also didn't mean he wouldn't return to the league and pitch a fit, but he could put up a serene front until he at-least got home. He had enough manners for that at-least. Perhaps he would shove one of the trainees into the crypt and lock them in to see how long until they went insane to make himself feel better.
"Do you think that maybe he just wants an alliance? Like he's not asking for that, he's asking for an exchange program so cats gain a better understanding of each other, but I don't think either of us think badly about the league. But maybe he feels he needs to prove that they're not like they used to be. Maybe we could have a feast and invite the league to come to show that there's no hard feelings about anything?" Glowstar offered to Burningstar as an idea.
She remembered when she was a league cat she had gone to a feast that invited all cats to come. When she had arrived to DayClan she had immediately fallen in love with it. Maybe other league cats would feel the same if they held another feast.
Burningstar's ears pricked forwards at the suggestion amber eyes lighting up with interest at the idea. "That sounds like a splendid idea, I like the sound of it." She purred. "Cats tend to be more open and friendly when bellies are full." She said.
"I like this idea as well." Phoenixstar said, having taken her time to consider the proposition and what it could mean for her clan.
"You already have a former MoonClan warrior among your ranks as it is. My cousin's daughter went by Flamingsoul while among the clans but I believe she goes by Flame now."
