Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Raiser Jasmine was wandering the tunnels. It was not out of the ordinary for the young she cat since she had always been a bit restless, but today she was looking for someone in particular. She was sure that Antediluvian would be training somewhere. He had always been such a hard worker. It was one of the things she had always admired about him. Sometimes she would urge him to take a break, but for the most part she usually liked to sit nearby and watch as he trained and offer support where she could.
Today was a bit different. She was excited, but trying her best to remain calm as she searched the tunnels to see if she could find him. Honestly she wasn't even sure that he was in the tunnels training. She hoped he was though as she knew she would most likely be scolded if she went above ground to look for him. She wasn't too worried though. She knew she would be alright as long as she stayed close to the tunnels if she could make it out without being stopped. Commander Mars had recently made it a rule that guiders and Raisers had to be accompanied by a scout or mercenary when they left the tunnels due to the recent SunClan attack on the tunnels.
She slowed as she came to one of the tunnel exits. Should she look above ground? Perhaps after another look through the tunnels. There were a few tunnels she had forgotten to check after all.
The grey mercenary padded into the main entrance, his paws weary. His new cadet kept him busy, which he liked, but he often found himself wanting to search for Jasmine. He had grown so close to her in such little time, even he was surprised. He ordered his apprentice to go find something to eat. When he saw she had obeyed, he left to go find her, the weariness in his paws completely forgotten. Antediluvian picked up Jasmine's scent, through several different tunnels as he tried to follow. What was she looking for? He padded quickly, weaving between tunnels looking for the freshest scent trail. His eyes clouded with worry, he didn't even see her until it was too late and had knocked their bodies together. "Are you okay?" he asked frantically, helping the she-cat up. He paused for a moment in her shoulder to drink in her wonderful scent. "What were you doing, wondering so many tunnels?" his voice was thick with concern, but a purr of amusement betrayed his worry.
"Ante I'm fine honestly." Jasmine shook out her fur as she got back to her feet. She was honestly just glad that she had finally found him. "I was looking for you actually. It's been a while since I came to sit with you during one of your training sessions." Her news could come later. For now she really just wanted to enjoy the fact that she had finally found him. She often forgot that he actually had a cadet now and that would of course keep him busy but this fact came to mind.
It was really hard to contain her excitement though. She doubted she would be able to keep her secret for very long. "Are you done with training for the day? If you are lets go out to the flower field. It's been a while since we've we've gone." That seemed like the perfect place to go and the walk would do her some good. She wanted to make sure he doing alright after the battle with SunClan as well. She had heard that there would be more battles to come, especially since SunClan had initiated the attack, but she really didn't want to think about that, not when she knew that it meant some of her fellow soldiers might not come back from battle. Instead, she would focus on her current news and what she thought his reaction might be.
Honestly, while Jasmine thought she was doing such a good job at hiding the fact that she had something to tell him, it was nearly impossible not to tell. She looked excited as if she could barely contain herself even though she had just been knocked over. She had never been the best at keeping secrets though. She was pretty open with most everything she did.
Antediluvian licked her shoulder after he listened to her words. He could feel the electricity in her body, as if she was so excited she could barely contain it. He narrowed his eyes playfully. "Yeah, I'm done with training for the day. I planned on training by myself a little later in the afternoon, however you can always join in of course." he said with a purr. He started to pad towards the main exit of the tunnels. It still smelled like blood and SunClan. He couldn't let his anger both him though; Jasmine was with him now. A few scratches still stung on his back and he padded away. He rolled his shoulders in an attempt to numb it. He hoped Jasmine didn't notice. "I've missed the flower field. I enjoy training my Cadet however I enjoy being in your company much more." he nuzzled into her fur.
"I heard that father named you as one of his sentinels after the SunClan battle." It was a great honor and she was honestly proud of him. She worried what that might mean in the days to come, but she was trying her best not to think about that. There was too many good things going on to focus on the bad. A purr rose in her throat. "All of your hard work is finally paying off. " While she was not ambitious on her own, she was happy for Ante. The scent of SunClan blood honestly made her nervous. She had been taught enough of self defense to protect herself, but she was no fighter. She found herself moving in closer to him until their fur brushed. Would they come back for Foxstar? It was possible. They had taken SunClan's leader as a prisoner of war.
Moments later she forced these thoughts to the back of her mind. She didn't want Antedulivian to worry about her anymore than he had to. The fresh air of the land above their tunnels helped to relax her. The smell of SunClan was gone and she was looking forward to reaching the flower field again. "Let me know if the pace is too fast. We can slow down a little bit if you want." She had of course noticed him rolling his shoulders and she was worried that he might still be feeling his wounds. She knew the battle had been fierce and SunClan had been relentless. They had heard the sounds of the battle from Post Kilo where those unable to join the battle had been staying
The tom flattened his ears in embarrassment. He was honored, however he knew his best friend Captam was jealous, and he didn't want his other friends to treat him any differently. Especially Jasmine. He glanced over towards her, watching her jaunting gait. It looked like she was stepping extra carefully now, as if she had thorns stuck in all of her pads. Shaking his head of the thoughts, he replied to her comment. "I'm fine. I just haven't really had a break since the battle. In between reporting to the Commander and training my Cadet, it's been hard being away from you." he said with a loving purr. "I just can't wait to finally enjoy the sun with you beside me."
"I've kept myself busy by helping around Post Kilo. We have more tykes there than I've ever seen in my life." Of course this was true. The raisers had their paws full at the moment with two new litters and another on the way since Lark would have her tykes soon. Then if you added the fact that Jasmine herself was going to have tykes, Post Kilo was overflowing at the moment. "Father won't let the raisers and guiders out of the tunnels without an escort now. That is especially true of the origins." She paused for a moment, worried that this might have given away what she had wanted to tell him at the flower field. She hoped he hadn't caught on just yet. It wouldn't be a bad thing, but it would ruin the surprise. She was awful at keeping secrets though. She always had been.
Antediluvian narrowed his eyes at the she-cat once more, however after falling into a deep sigh of happiness he shook off the feeling. "Well, let's just get to the flower field and forget about all of our responsibilities. And you can tell me whatever you're so excited about." he said with a laugh, flicking his tail playfully against her flank.
Their trip to the flower field was the longest trip Jasmine had ever taken in her life. It was so hard to keep her secret even long enough to get to the flower field. "How is training going with your cadet? Is it difficult since the battle is still so recent? I do hope you will still find time to visit me in Post Kilo. I may not be able to get around as much in a few moons." Honestly...She knew she could be impatient at times, but she couldn't help it. She was just far to excited to hold it in any longer.
Antediluvian shook his head. "No, it isn't too bad. I can't tussle too much, just until I'm fully healed," he said, padding along slowly. It was taking them rather long to reach the field, so he quickened his pace. "And of course I'll be able to come see you. Why do you say that? Are you sick, or injured?" he asked, his eyes narrowing in fear and worry.
"No, I'm not ill or anything like that." She couldn't hide a small note of amusement in her voice as she spoke. "It's just that they don't like Origins traveling too far from Post Kilo, especially with tensions with the clans as high as they are. Too much stress is bad for unborn tykes." She wasn't sure if he would pick up on what she had just said or not. She was waiting now, excited to see his reaction to her news. Would he be happy? He had to be right? She couldn't imagine the news affecting him any other way.
"Wait what?" it took Ante a moment to realize what she was hinting at. It all made sense when he thought of everything. "You're expecting?!" he asked, excitement flooding his voice. He sounded like a kit!
His reaction made her laugh. She should have known he would be happy. It was silly to expect any different. "I've known for a little while honestly. I just wanted to be sure before I told you." She knew her father was protective of her but she also knew that he had grown to respect Ante over time. Surely he would be just as happy as they were about this news.
"Does anyone else know?" he asked. He tried to keep the nervousness out of his voice. Although Commander Mars had named him a sentinel, he still felt like he would not be happy with the news. He held a good position in the Regime, and he was afraid even that wouldn't be good enough. Jasmine's entire family laid here in the tunnels.. he was glad he could soon say the same. He still held a small pill of anxiety in his stomach.
"Not yet. You are the first one I've told." She could tell he was nervous. Her father had been very overprotective during their early relationship, but she knew that he meant well and she knew that he would be happy for her now as long as Ante didn't do anything to hurt her. Of course she knew that he wouldn't hurt her. She trusted him and the relationship they had built. She had to laugh after a moment. "You realize there is nothing to fear right? For one, my father loves tykes. They are one of his weaknesses actually." Her father's love of little ones was becoming somewhat of a joke in the Regime, but this was just another sign of her father's gentle spirit. "You should take the time to actually speak with the commander. He's not as scary as you may think. Even Basil isn't all that bad once you get to know him."
He nodded his head. She was right. "What if I asked them to go on patrol with me?" he asked. Would that be a good idea? He would be alone and at the mercy of their questions, maybe some he isn't able to answer yet.. He shook his fur out. "Maybe that would be a good idea."
"He might go. It depends on what he was doing at the moment. Make sure you ask him in the mornings. He usually goes to see Momi and my younger siblings in the evening." She doubted her father disliked Ante. He wouldn't have made him a sentinel if he didn't trust him, especially with the recent events. Limavady's betrayal was still fresh in her mind. It had shocked her honestly. She had heard the rumors but still. she hadn't expected that he would attack her father in the middle of a battle like that.
He saw Jasmine's worry in her eyes; Antediluvian couldn't help but share her worry. But he laid his tail across her back and continued walking to the field. "Everything will be alright," he murmured in her ear. "There is nothing to worry about now. We are the strongest group on this entire land that is laid out for us. There is nothing to worry about." he said.
"I know...I just never expected that we would have trouble from within like this. I mean, I was never really sure about Limavady after what Venus said, but I never thought he would go that far..." She then shook her head. She didn't want to ruin the moment with her worries about the future. With her father at the head of the Regime, she knew they would overcome their enemies. "It really is exciting though. I haven't seen Post Kilo this full before." Not only would the Regime be growing strong, but her own little ones would have plenty of other tykes to play with.
