Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Cardinalheart sat at the WinterClan border with his tail curled neatly over his paws. They were going to warn WinterClan about Cicero and his band of rogues, just like he promised Dexter they would. His gaze scanned the WinterClan territory, hoping to catch a glimpse of a patrol in the distance, but he had no such luck. He had his reservations about just crossing the border but he also didn't feel like waiting around much longer either. With a sigh and a glance at his patrol he stepped over the border and waved his tail to them, signaling for them to follow.
Finchpaw was with Cardinalheart's patrol and hesitantly followed the deputy over the Winterclan border. She knew how vicious the Winterclan cats could be if they felt like it. The tabby she-cat scanned the territory with worried green eyes, expecting a Winterclan patrol to launch at them.
WINTERCLAN Mysterypaw was a brand new apprentice, even though she was a lot bigger than most average apprentices.
She'd finally been able to go explore on her own! Prove her mettle by doing some hunting.
And though she had yet to find prey she had found some cats. So immediately she straightened up and hopped up to take a perch on a rock so she towered over the springclan cats below. "Halt!" She said. "You're on WinterClan territory! State your business, and we'll decide what happens next." She said flexing her claws.
The deep turmoil boiling within SpringClan's hearts.
She had first felt it when she had passed by SpringClan's border this morning, before her meeting with one of the rogues. And then, she ran across Diesdrè, an enchantress who stunk of rogue, yet came straight from SpringClan's territory.
Not long after, a young tom by the name of Blackpaw came crawling to them, begging for sanctuary. She didn't hesitate to throw him in prison, not being able to trust a SpringClan cat so easily.
And so, when SpringClan's scent yet again drifted into her nose for the third time that day, Valleystar was up on her paws and heading straight for the SpringClan border. She was massive for a female, standing 12'' at the shoulder, with thick, long fur flowing elegantly from her form in waves of white and diluted grey. Crystal blue eyes alit with determination gazed around the area as she burst through the trees, having heard Mysterypaw's voice not too long before. She was surprised when she was met with a group of true SpringClan warriors, instead of rogues, and with them apprentices and kits.
"Mysterypaw, stand down," The Sovereign commanded, coming to stand in front of the recently-turned-trainee. "She is right, though. What is your business here, SpringClan?" She knew that these cats probably didn't know who she was; she was only a mere rumor for now, not having showed up at any of the recent gatherings. She had only been leader for shorter than a moon, though, and so she could understand as to why no one knew who she was. Deep down, she preferred to keep it that way.
SPRINGCLAN "Please! SpringClan has been taken! We need help!" Specklepaw's voice was shaking. He almost looked like he was begging, crouching low to the ground as his golden eyes watered. "A rogue named Cicero came and he killed Eternalstar and then he drove us out and now they're hunting us down and we don't know what to do and we're gonna die if we don't get help and-" He cut himself off with his own coughing, exhausting the little energy he had rambling like a madman.
WINTERCLAN Diamondheart slowly appeared over the snowbanks and took her place next to Valleystar. Her forest cat frame was way shorter than the other she-cat, though the massive amount of fur she carried with her made up for her short stature. They had discussed the sudden influx of intruders around their territory early that day and made up a little.... more than equipt patrol to scope things out. When the bumbling mottled apprentice started to bumble on about their clan being captured the Crowned immediately shot her gaze over to the Soveriegn. Her jade eyes widened slightly as she rose a browbone. She said nothing, of course, letting her body language do all the speaking.
WinterClan Mysterypaw's ears lowered, she'd wanted to handle the situation! Mother had told her how fiercely she'd protected borders back in the league, and Mysterypaw wanted her chance to do the same. Letting out a quiet huff she hopped down to stand behind Valleystar, a pouty expression on her face.
SpringClan Lightstep remained silent looking up at the WinterClan leader, her tail wrapped protectively around her three kits.
Dovekit huddled close to Lightstep, gazing shyly at Mysterypaw. The bigger she-cat had call ed her 'Mysteryi]paw[/i]' which meant she was an apprentice right? Dovekit looked Mysterypaw up and down and thought that the apprentice was rather big for an apprentice. At least, Springclan apprentices werent that big. She felt smaller than ever standing there while the adult cats spoke.
Finchpaw halted in mid step when Mysterypaw leaped onto the boulder. But before anyone could speak, more cats began to appear and wondered if they were going to be attacked. The multi colored tabby took a step back, lowering her ears.
Cardinalheart met Valleystar's gaze evenly. "What Specklepaw says is true. A rogue named Cicero has taken over SpringClan. Some of our Clanmates fled the Clan altogether and some chose to stay with Cicero. I have no idea what his intentions are from here so I wanted to warn your Clan."
________
Wolfspider stood between Finchpaw and Lightstep, his gaze jumping between every WinterClan warrior, watching for the first sign of attack. Truthfully, it wouldn't bode well for them if WinterClan did decide to attack. They were outnumbered.
__________
Shiningkit curled up next to her littermates, her gaze following Dovekit's and watching Mysterypaw.
Valleystar was taken back by the desperation in Specklepaw's voice, though her eyes remained unblinking as she stared coldly at the young apprentice. And then, she was reminded of her own children; what would happen to them if they were in the same situation Specklepaw is currently in? The thought caused a shudder go up her spine. Her features warmed, only a little, and she nodded her head as she thought about what to do.
They could take in what was scattered of SpringClan, and show them WinterClan is coming upon new times; would that be the righteous thing to do? But, WinterClan would require something in return. Would they hunt for them, or did Valleystar want something more? She pondered this.
"Diamondheart," She suddenly said, the Sovereign turning to her Crowned, "what is your opinion on this, hmm?" Valleystar might as well get Diamondheart's input on this, wanting to learn more of the she-cat and how her mind works. Maybe they would have similar thoughts.
WINTERCLAN "They will do no harm with kits around. That's a fact." While she didn't know who their father was, it was clear who bore the kits as she hid them behind her tail. Diamondheart would do the same if she was almost ambushed with her young out in the open. This was a clear indication they had no ill intention- not outwardly, at least. Most of them were just getting to the point were their ribs just became visible
And then there were the apprentices. They seemed to have a good bunch of them; how many were there? Three at least. There was the bumbling apprentice seemingly named Specklepaw and two others who weren't as bold as their friend to stand before the Soveriegn and Reigned. Sure, they didn't know who they were, but it was definitely very bold of him to speak up like that. She liked that. If any of them decided to stay, he would definitely be a good addition.
"Let them stay at the edge of our territory. We can put them at our FallClan border; FallClan is already too scared to even come close to our border line, and even if they do they'll be too scared to do anything. Just don't let them leave their little 'camp'- we will bring them prey and supplies in patrols through the week. Do you have any ideas, Valleystar?" If the group was brave enough to lurk around WinterClan, they should know who they were dealing with. WinterClan was known to bring the big guns; a great defence is always the best offence. Obviously they would post the knights there to watch them with as many soldiers as they could spare. Maybe a trainee or two for some experience. Sleetpaw would deffinitely appreciate being sent watch some prisoners of war.
Cardinalheart watched and listened to Valleystar and Diamondheart talk. It was generous of them to offer shelter on their territory but he also knew WinterClan's reputation and how badly it could go. But on the other hand they also had no where else to go. It would be nice to be safe for awhile while he figured out his next move and how to get the Clan back together again. "That is a very generous offer, one that I will gladly accept, as long as Valleystar is okay with it." Cardinalheart said, fixing Valleystar with a curious stare.
Dovekit stepped forward toward the Winterclan leader which was quite unusual. She was usually very shy. In a quiet voice but loud enough to hear, she said "Valleystar...please let us stay. I don't want to go back home..." Her voice started shaking and tears began to build in her eyes. "I watched a cat die..." she trailed off, swallowing back the lump that formed in her throat. "I-I don't want to go back there...there are bad cats living there now..." She shrunk back along with her siblings, looking back at her paws and shaking.
Topazkit, who had been surprisingly been silent this whole time, comforted Dovekit by wrapping her tail around her. Topazkit looked at Valleystar, "She is right. It would very generous of you if you would allow us to stay. Even just on the edge of the territory. We are tired and hungry and are in your mercy. We will never forget any kindness you show us."
Valleystar pondered for a moment after Diamondheart had finished speaking. Diamondheart was right, as always, and just; a part of Valleystar aspired to be like her. She always wanted to be the greatest leader she can be, and by showing that she has the compassion to take in those struggling would be an amazing feat for WinterClan as a whole. They were always known as the outcasts, those who hated outsiders and were mean as the Dark Forest itself; she felt as if times were changing, and with that, WinterClan must change as well.
What finally pushed her over the edge was when Dovekit stepped forward. The Sovereign lowered herself to the ground slowly, to where she was eye-level with Dovekit and Topazkit, and listened to them closely. "You poor things," She said, her gaze growing sad and thoughtful. With a sigh, she pushed herself back up onto her paws and looked Cardinalheart in the eye. "You will be allowed to stay within WinterClan's old camp, under one condition: you will operate under my rule. You will hunt for not only yourselves, but WinterClan as well. You will take part in patrols if need be, and you will do as I say. This is my territory, and I'll be damned if someone tries to show me up for it." With that said, she flicked her tail and turned around, beginning to disappear into the undergrowth of the alpine. "Follow me."
WINTERCLAN Diamondheart hummed in amusement. She knew Valleystar alwasy had good intentions, there just needed to be that extra boost to help her get them out. That's what Diamondheart was there for- the extra boost. She mimicked her leaders tail flick and followed the larger molly closely.
SPRINGCLAN These WinterClan sure were as scarey as they sounded. Specklepaw glanced at Cardinalheart and gave him half a smile. This was good, right? Did they make the right call by coming to WinterClan for help?
With one last sweeping look at his group, Cardinalheart followed Valleystar and Diamondheart into WinterClan territory. He had to fight the urge to sarcastically respond when Valleystar mentioned him trying to steal WinterClan's territory. He had a group of five kits, six warriors, and three apprentices, they couldn't take territory even if they wanted to, but he thought better of it and he was truly grateful for a place to stay, safe from the rogues. "Thank you. It is very generous of you to let us stay here and we will do our best to help WinterClan out in any way we can." he said.
Valleystar led the warriors, apprentices and kits of what was left of SpringClan up and through the bushes, to a steep hill, her claws unsheathed and digging into the Earth below to stop herself from sliding down. "Be careful and grab the kits," She threw her head over her shoulder, calling down the slope. Ducking her head to dodge a low-hanging tree branch, the she-cat started back up the alpine, finally getting to the top of the hill that they struggled against. Shaking her fur of rubbish that dare cling to her white-and-grey calico pelt.
As the large group pressed on, they had finally come upon WinterClan's camp, and Valleystar stood upon WinterClan's outer ring. With a sigh, and rolling her shoulders back, the Sovereign held her head regally as she moved through the clearing, to the giant boulder that sat in the middle. Lowering herself to her haunches, her belly lightly brushing the ground, she kicked off her hind legs and launched herself into the air, the large cat coming to land upon the boulder with ease. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Meteor for a Clan meeting," Her voice called out over her clan, alerting them to the news she had to share.
( @asterdeity rp with ussssss we need sum more winterclan soldiers out hereyaaa )
Hiddencrest melted through the crowd, his pale gaze sweeping the commotion with interest. There were more SpringClan cats gathering in the camp, now? Interested, he sat just a bit away and tilted his head as he paid full attention to his Leader.
WINTERCLAN The stench of SpringClan made Roaringsuns nostrils flare. He slipped out of the nursery and stood watch at the entrance of the den, dark amber eyes glued not to his Soveriegn but to the ragtag group of warriors that crawled up the mountain behind her. "Hmp. She was actually telling the truth." He muttered.
Diamondheart followed close behind Valleystar, almost like her shadow. She took her place directly below her leader, watching her clan gather before her jade eyes.
SPRINGCLAN Specklepaw didn't even have to step foot in WinterClans camp before he could smell him. Right inside WinterClans outer ring, there he was. Blackpaw, his brother, his hope. Without thinking the mottled tom barrled toward the twotone convict. "BLACKPAW!" He cried as the apprentice crashed into his kin, nuzzling his neck and licking his face all over.
