Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It all felt so painfully familiar. Twistedecho felt like all eyes were on her all the time, waiting for her to slip up. She was glad for all the practice she had in the past to hide her concerns, but it was so much harder here. In SunClan she could always retreat to a place only a pawful of cats were allowed to enter. Here, the closest she had to that was her own nest. Far, far from as private as the Janus' camp. But for once, it wasn't her own life she feared for. Of course when alone the same old fear sparked deep down, but when settled in DayClan's camp she was far more worried about if she'd be accepted by the cats she still wasn't certain if she should call Clanmates. Hence why she curled up near the edges of camp, orange eyes half-open to watch the movements of the Clan around her. She preferred the low buzz of worry under the surface here over the overwhelming terror that stalked her almost constantly back in SunClan, but she couldn't help but wonder if she'd ever feel really comfortable here. She couldn't stop the rising certainty that a majority were less than pleased with her in the clan, and she couldn't blame them. She had DayClan blood on her paws. She may not have had a choice, the ruling for failed initiates laid out before SunClan even found the Sun, but she certainly didn't do anything to try to stop it all. Even now, she just ran from it. She didn't deserve to be trusted immediately.
Windchaser, one of the most hard core warriors of Dayclan, laid unforgiving green eyes upon Twistedecho. The ginger and white immortal council member swallowed back the words she wished she could say to the former Sunclan warrior. She knew Glowstar would want her to be welcoming toward Twistedecho. So she shook out her fur and approached the new comer. "How are you settling in?" She asked, forcing her voice to sound cheery and welcoming though inside it hurt. Mostly because she didnt trust Twistedecho and Windchaser was a very protective Dayclan warrior with fierce loyalty. However, she was unfortunately now limited to thing she could do now that she was expecting kits. Which supposedly made her even more protective. Not only did she fear for her clan now, she feared for her unborn kits.
Windchaser. The name rose automatically in her mind as she recognized the bicolored queen. She never spent much time around the short-lived SunClan initiates, but she was always aware enough of her Clan to know the cats that chose to learn of their customs. Her role forced her to especially remember those that chose to abandon it all. Her eyes flickered towards the tell-tale curve of her belly, just for a moment before she lifted her head and met the immortal council cat's gaze. It was all but instinct to search her gaze, picking out the signs of thoughts pushed to the back. It was familiar to her, even in the eyes of a stranger. For a moment she was tempted to urge Windchaser to drop the act. Nothing would ever work out well if she hid her thoughts. But Twistedecho was doing the same, and she couldn't dismiss the thought that perhaps she was imagining it. So instead she just replied, "Well enough. Far better than I ever settled in..." She trailed off, not wanting to so directly bring up her origins. She wasn't entirely certain the answer she gave was truthful. She felt like she had to learn everything all over again, from hunting to fitting in no matter how dysfunctionally, and she supposed in a way she was. DayClan was so different from SunClan, and it took effort to conform to customs she had never grown up with.
The ginger and white warrior sat down before Twistedecho. "Is it different over here than over there?" She truly was interested in the difference between the clans. She hated Sunclan with a burning passion. Perhaps she could get Twistedecho to leak some secrets.
She nodded. "Very. But you should know some of those differences. I recognize you, and I know you spent time with our- uh, their senators as an initiate."
She shrugged, "That was just a way to distract them. I wanted Foxstar to think I was going to join Sunclan so that we could escape. It was all a diversion." She licked one of her white paws and drew it over her ear before continuing. "I'm just glad to be out of that place. Foxstar will fall one day. And I hope I live long enough to see it."
She just gave a small nod at the reply she got. She assumed several cats would claim the same. The issue was how many were telling the truth. Perhaps one day she'd know cats like Windchaser well enough to tell the difference. She twitched an ear as the other she-cat went on, and before she really thought about it she added, "I hope so as well." Instinctively she glanced around the clearing, watching for cats that might be listening in on the conversation between the two she-cats. It took several repetitions in her mind of, 'You're not in SunClan anymore,' before she focused back on Windchaser. She didn't need to fear voicing thoughts like that aloud. In DayClan, most cats probably shared a negative opinion of some sort towards SunClan's tyrannical leader.
"You don't have to worry about stating your opinion here" Windchaser assured when she noticed Twistedecho casting cautious glances around after saying what she did. "Dayclan isn't like that. I just told you what I thought of Foxstar after I did an initiation. See? Nothing. No one is going to come after you and no one is going to judge you." She mewed, her voice getting more and more stern as she spoke. Windchaser wasn't really one for gentle speaking. She had a strong personality but a good heart. "Thats what makes Dayclan so great."
