SunClan had lost...How was that even possible? They should have had the advantage. They were supposed to catch them off guard, but they had all been waiting and fighting in the cramped tunnels of the Regime had been nearly impossible. Her white pelt was streaked red by the blood of her many wounds. She was losing blood and it was getting harder and harder for her to keep up with her clanmates. "Frostcloud wait..." Her voice was feeble as she made one last attempt to call out to her sister. The white she cat paused and glanced back at her before turning back around and running to catch up with their clanmates. "Wait..." Her eyes had widened in dismay. How could her own twin leave her behind? What would she tell their mother who was waiting for both of them to return home? Did she even care? It was no use. She slowed to a stop. Her energy had been spent. She collapsed, unable to go any further. The last thing she saw as her eyes began to close was the image of her sister running, leaving her behind in her haste to catch up with the rest of SunClan.

Dread filled the guider from nose to tail-tip. How in the world was he going to cure all those cats from the battle? What if their wounds got infected? What if he had to take off one of their legs because of the infection? What if they DIED from the infection? His head spun with terrible scenarios and Anguis had to step out of HeadQuarters to grab some fresh air. He hardly went to the surface because it made him feel terribly exposed, but something led his paws down the path into the open air. Sunclan scent still covered the grass like a stinking fog so it took him a minute to notice the limp form of the white cat until his eyes fell in that direction. "A-AH!" He yowled in shock, nearly scaring the feathers off of some nearby birds. He ran up to the she-cat and his eyes widened with shock at the amount of blood she was losing. He quickly pushed her among a thick clump of ferns, hoping no one would find her and scuttled off to find some marigold and cobwebs.
Her eyes had opened slightly when she heard someone shout. Two sapphire orbs stared directly up at the strange tom as he began to push her. Even that slight movement was painful. He appeared to be moving her somewhere though. Maybe he was taking her back to the tunnels to become a prisoner or maybe he was just going to leave her to die. It was hard telling really.
A few moments later she was given her answer. He was leaving. So he had moved her out of the way and was now going to leave her to die. She let out a quiet sigh and closed her eyes again.
"Hm?" Ellison had come out shortly after Anguis. He had wanted a small break before going back in to treat the wounded cats, but he had been just in time to see Anguis pushing a limp form over into some ferns. He waited for him to leave before he trotted over to see what he had been doing. This was when he spotted her. It was a white she cat that was bleeding from several wounds. She carried the scent of SunClan on her so she had apparently been left behind. It didn't surprise him honestly, but he was curious about what Anguis might be planning and so he turned and jumped up onto the low hanging branch of a nearby tree. He should be able to watch him from here and see what exactly was going on.

His denim blue eyes scanned the undergrowth for any signs of cobwebs, moss, and other herbs to help the she-cat recover. He had to save her! Even if she was a Sunclan cat, he couldn't just leave her to die. Right? That was the right thing to do, yeah? Maybe? He shook his head trying to clear the doubts and gathered up as many herbs as he could find. Leaves stuck in his long black and white coat and his mouth was so full of different herbs that you could hardly see his face. He stumbled all over the place searching for where he left the feline's body until he accidentally tripped over her. "OH, I AM SO SORRY." He cried, then grew hot as he realized she probably couldn't hear him. As quickly as his paws would move, Anguis starting patching her up with poultice and cobwebs. He took the moss and glanced around, hoping to find a puddle nearby.
He...He was helping her? But why? She had been led to believe that the other clans were infidels. They would rather die than help someone that held the Sun God's blessing right? She was fading in and out of consciousness and the only thing she was really certain of was the pain she felt all over her body. He seemed nervous though. She was almost certain he had tripped over her. She had to say something. She would have to gather what little strength she had and break the silence that had fallen over them. "Why..." It took a great deal of effort but she did manage to get her words out. She had to know that much at least. Why was helping her?

Anguis let out a yelp in response as she spoke. She knew he was helping her? Oh no, no, no... He had hoped to help her and then send her back home before she even noticed. Then again, they didn't seem too concerned with her. What if she was a spy? But on the other paw, what if she died? He couldn't just let her die! What if Sunclan abandoned her? They wouldn't take care of her at all and her death would be on his paws! Not to mention, she was kind of pretty if you got past the blood and such... What was he thinking? What if Superior Shule found him now all mooning over this wounded she-cat? She would claw his ears straight off his head! Ah, what to do... "Oh, uh, I can't just leave a cat to die." He explained awkwardly after remembering that she had kind of asked him a question. That's all, right? There weren't any other motives like her pretty face...or the way her fur swayed in the breeze...
It wasn't long before Snowflight slipped into unconsciousness after that. The last thing she saw was the Regime cat watching her...
~~~
When she woke again she found herself in a cave nestled in a corner where she would be somewhat out of sight should someone look into the cave. She tried to sit up only to wince at the stabbing pain that shot down her side. She fell still again but she did manage to lift her head and look at the large wound on her side. She could feel the dull pain of another wound on her neck and more on her stomach and head. Just how many wounds had she received? She remembered being backed against a wall...The Regime was far stronger than she had given them credit for.
As her head began to clear somewhat, she registered the scent of herbs. Someone had treated her wounds...That's right! A regime cat had found her just before she passed out. He had helped her. Had he been the one to bring her here? She couldn't think of any other way she could have gotten here. She certainly hadn't moved herself. He was probably long gone by now though. She couldn't expect him to take the risk of treating her further.
As she put thoughts of the strange tom aside, she turned her attention to another problem. She was hungry and thirsty. She had no idea how long she had been unconscious. It could have been days for all she knew. Either way, she was still on Regime territory judging by the fact that their scent was very strong. This meant she would be needing to move as soon as possible. At the moment she was stuck here but if she rested a bit longer perhaps she would be able to move. All of her thoughts vanished and she tensed when she heard the sound of pawsteps followed by a voice.
"...Honestly you almost got us caught this time. You are lucky Diana believed me when I told her I wanted to bring my lunch above ground to eat it so that I could nap in the sun..." Honestly it wasn't a bad idea, but for now Ellison had simply told a little white lie to keep Diana happy so that they could get prey to their patient. She had been showing signs of recovery for the past couple days so he was hoping to find her alert today. He was confident they were out of the woods at this point, but they still ran risk of getting caught by their group mates. He had been doing his best to keep Anguis quiet about their patient. She was going to need water as well, but he would have to take care of that once they checked on her progress.
"I know, I'm really sorry." He apologized for probably the 12th time that day. He was extremely grateful for Ellison's help and that the other guider was keeping his secret. Anguis could feel the anxiety fluttering in his belly. As per usual, the 'what ifs' were playing out in his mind as the blue-grey tom spoke. "What if she is gone? What if one of the others found her? What if we get kicked out of the Regime?" He fretted out loud to his new-found, oddly-paired friend. They were certainly the dream team. A lazy guider and an anxious guider. Somehow they were the ones that decided to treat this Sunclan cat. Maybe he add other motives, but he felt it was only right to help her. Sunclan had abandoned her... He would never. Wait, what was he thinking? He hardly knew her! Anguis shook his head at the complicated thoughts and carried on. "There is some moss over here." He meowed, pointing to where the ground began to slope downwards to a small puddle.
Ice blue eyes watched as the two toms came into view. Regime cats? Well, she supposed it wasn't that surprising since she was still on Regime territory, but a part of her had been hoping that one of her own clanmates had stayed behind with her. She supposed that would have been asking a bit much. She didn't move as she watched them. Both were toms. One seemed a bit more nervous than the other, but he seemed familiar somehow. It was then that she found one of them looking right at her.
"Oh? It seems like she woke up." The bluish grey tom was approaching her now. He sniffed the largest wound that ran down her side. He wrinkled his nose at the smell. Even she could tell that it was infected. It reeked of illness and she could feel the effects of the infection still. "Anguis, did you bring the herbs? We probably need to reapply her medicine." He took the moss ball to go and soak it in the puddle. Once he had her medicine taken care of, they would be able to see if she felt like eating.
Anguis' feet seemed to stick into the ground when her eyes landed on him. She was awake. What now? What if she tried to run away? What if she sneezed and all of the Regime heard her? "Don't sneeze!" He squeaked out suddenly then felt his ears grow hot with embarrassment. "I-I-I-I m-mean." His legs still refused to move from their spot. Fear washed over him from nose to tail-tip as the moment grew more awkward. Ellison's question suddenly popped into his head. "O-oh yeah. I have the herbs." He answered, his voice coming out quieter than he had hoped. Finally dragging his paws forward, he approached Snowflight warily. "Don't worry. We are taking care of you. Uh, my name is Anguis. It's kind of a secret that you are here so please don't sneeze." Again with the sneezing? Why couldn't he form normal thoughts and sentences?
Don't sneeze? Snowflight opened her mouth to respond and then closed it again. What did he mean? Was he afraid she was sick and that he would catch whatever disease she had? He seemed rather nervous about something or other. She watched Anguis in fascination. He certainly was unique and something about him made her relax slightly. It was clear that this tom most likely couldn't hold her prisoner even if he wanted to. She had yet to make any conclusions about his friend, but it was clear that they had saved her life so for now she had no choice but to trust them. "My name is Snowflight." Her voice was quiet and perhaps a bit uncertain, but she didn't look as worried as she had before. "Umm...I'm sorry but, what happens if I sneeze?"
