Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It was time she addressed her position. There was not yet a superior guider, she would appoint one soon. Now was time to speak to Lark, see how things were going. She made her way to the post, her paws quiet on the tunnel floors.
Raiser Superior Lark had been busy as of late, with the coming of Venus' litter- a large one at that- being such a prominent event in Post Kilo. The small calico cat was currently rifling through their remaining herbs, counting the borage leaves that they had in stock, and she didn't notice when the new Chaman arrived.
Instead of announcing her arrival right away, Roon hung back just a little. The chaman decided to watch how Lark worked. She knew they had once been superiors together, but hadn’t had much opportunity to speak to one another. She sat down, curling her tail over her paws and was silent.
Lark was methodical in her sorting, counting mentally as she pushed leaves into piles. The task didn't take her long, and she eventually stood and stretched, turning to see Roon. Her mouth parted in a pleasant smile. "Good afternoon, Chaman Roon. Congratulations on your promotion."
The She cat smiled softly. “Thank you. After I am gone, you are next in line.” She purred, eyes fond of the feline before her. “Are you getting on well, Lark?”
"I'm doing well, thank you." Lark flushed under the notion that she could one day occupy the role of Chaman. "I don't know if you've heard, but I'm expecting tykes. I'm not very far along yet, but it's still exciting."
She found herself purring in response. “That is wonderful, Lark. I know they’ll be strong members of the regime!” Roon found herself feeling a bit of jealousy, but the good kind. She wished that she would also find love one day, but found it unlikely at this point.
"Thank you." Lark dipped her head, offering a bright smile in response. "Is there anything you needed from me today, or is this merely a friendly visit?"
"I do, truly." Lark's voice rang with sincerity, a light sparking in her eyes. "I became a Raiser shortly after losing my first litter, and both the job and the Regime brought light back to my life. I couldn't imagine being anywhere else."
