Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Altayr-chan was in a relatively good mood, his small Siamese form curled in a ball in a warm patch of sunshine outside the den. The small tom, supposed son of the Proxy Altaire, wasn't quite napping but wasn't quite awake. He drifted between states of consciousness, waiting absently for something more interesting to come along.
"Enjoying your nap?" came a rather sharp tone. A black trainee stood before him, grooming herself. Her piercing blue eyes watching him as she smoothed her fur. Mellori-kun wasn't usually one to make friends. Most of the time, cats her age ran from her. She didn't blame them though. She was a beautiful cat but her sharp gaze and morbid tongue usually left kittens crying to their mother. It was rare that she actually found someone who would talk to her. However, she didn't mind making kits cry. It was actually quite pleasant to her.
"I was." Altayr lifted his head, sizing up the trainee with a quick glance. With a faint sigh he clambered to his feet, sinking his back into a deep stretch. "Who are you, anyway? I haven't met you yet." Usually he was in the Shaman's den with his mother, Morgana, and his siblings. But today he had needed a change of pace, so the handsome yet tiny tom had made the decision to doze outside.
"Altayr-chan. Morgana and Altaire are my parents." The tom sounded a little braggy- he only knew that Shaman and Proxy were important titles and thus he was, by association, an important League cat. "You're a trainee, right? That's what -kun means?"
"My parents are Corvus and Driscal" she stated though her father didnt come around very much. She only just found out that he was their father and it was just a fling between her parents. "Yes, I am a trainee" she answered.
"What's that like?" Altayr-chan seemed genuinely curious- he was still rather young, and was far off from starting his training. And Mellori-kun seemed willing to chat, so he sat down near her, eyes focused on her.
She looked at him like he had bees flying out of his ears, surprised that he wasnt running away from her. She then narrowed her eyes and accepted the company. "Its nothing special." She replied with a shrug. "Its just training. Your muscles get sore though." Why was she even talking to this tyke? She was a trainee. Clearly she was better than him in her thoughts. She was lowering her standards talking to him. However, it was better than just sitting there, plotting out the best ways to kill a cat.
"From what?" Altayr-chan was admittedly unexperienced in what a trainee went through- he had only seen his sister being trained to become the next Shaman. "Do you like, run a lot or something?"
"Lots of running, lots of swift and sharp movements. A lot of motions that your body isn't used to." She explained, rolling her own sore shoulders to increase blood flow to them. "It hurts but you get used to it."
"Okay, watch this" she mewed as she braced herself. Within a swift movement, she leaped at a boulder nearby, bounced off of it, and landed squarely on Altayr-chan, pinning him down.
Altayr-chan crumpled under her weight, his lean form squirming under her grasp. He seemed pleased by the demonstration, though. “That was cool! Can I try?” He knew his weight wouldn’t be able to hold her down, but he wanted to try bouncing off the rock.
Altayr-chan nodded his affirmation of his own trust in his skills, standing and moving to where Mellori-kun had jumped from. "So I just jump onto the rock and then off of it?"
Rolling his shoulders, the tiny tom crouched into a ball before springing up, clumsily bouncing off the rock in a passable imitation of Mellori-kun's move. "I did it!"
