Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Stormgazer stood at the mountain clan's gathering place, staring up at the sky. On one side, it was raining, the other side, it was snowing. It was quite an amazing thing and she enjoyed watching it. She was always fascinated about the weather and wondered what made it. Why was it warmer on one side of the mountain and colder on the other? Her mind was buzzing with possibilities and unanswered questions that she hadn't realized a cat was in her presence.
He stopped squinting his eyes and blinked, oh wait no, she was on her side of the territory, he had just narrowed his eyes and made it hard for him to see that. Friend!
Windyhurricane bounded over to the she-cat on the other side of the border, the snow barely capable of giving him so much as a shiver with his long coat of fur. Coming to a stop the snow sprayed up close to Stormgazer's face, "Hi there! I'm Windy. I saw you hanging around so I wanted to hang around. I don't get to talk to outsiders much. Do you have ghosts too?"
Stormgaze shot a look at Windyhurricane in surprise as he sprayed snow in her direction. She perked her ears. This tom...looked familiar...She stood up from a sitting position and padded closer to the border. She narrowed her eyes as she neared him and suddenly she remembered. She felt bad that she hadnt remembered his name but now it jogged her memory. "Windy!" Her eyes lit up in joy. "Its me! Stormgazer!" Then she realized that when she last saw him, they were apprentices. "I mean, I came into your camp when we were apprentices! Do you remember?"
"Oh! Oh, no wait, it was me that came into your camp. I was being a fierce warrior, well apprentice and guarding my mom. She's still medicine cat and has to go to neighboring clans for herbs, but now she's got a brand new apprentice! It's good to see you again, what's your warrior name? My warrior name is Windyhurricane," He boasted, before pausing, "It's actually a very strange name since we don't get hurricanes, but I think it's cool!"
"Oh yeah! Thats right!" she remembered, laughing. "I think it's cool too! My name is Stormgazer now!" She puffed out her chest as she told him her warrior name.
"I LOVE IT!" Windyhurricane exclaimed, his tail fur fluffing out in excitement, "It's like the eye of the storm or there are flowers called lily stargazers, it could be like a rare lily stormgazer flower. I don't know if that's a real flower, but I really like the sound of your name. If I didn't know you, I would picture a cat with cloudy hazel grey eyes and hints of blue hues. I love imagining what warriors would look like when I think of cool names. or imagining my name with a star at the end. Just little things I like to think about, do you ever do that? Imagine yourself as Stormstar?"
She purred, "Stormstar?" She thought about it for a moment. "I like the sound of that!" She laughed. "I like the sound of your name too! Windystar sounds great also!" She curled her tail happily. She liked this tom. He was silly. "I never thought about those things before until now!"
(Sorry, sorry, final projects. I got the whole summer now though!)
"Heh, if I was leader I'd think bigger than my clan. I don't want to be apart of a community, I want to be apart of a cause. So if I was Windystar I'd focus on helping others in need. I'd be the annoying leader who sticks their nose in other clans business if it meant helping someone. Like I'd be willing to turn WinterClan's prisons into a rehabilitation center and maybe my clan could work together to teach people to not be bad and be a lot easier on outsiders who accidentally wander onto WinterClan territory. We're actually usually pretty mad when someone like you gets too close to the border, but I think that's silly cause the snow is like water, it's hard to pick up scents and the wind carries scents away. A WinterClan cat is a proficient tracker, but all the other clans and outsiders just aren't cause they don't have this kind of climate. I don't know, I find myself often a bit mad at my clan, maybe I get that from my parents though, I'm sure you like your clan though," Windyhurricane said.
He flicked up his matted chest fur, "My furs so long I'd never be comfy in any other clan. And my whole families here. Plus I'm terrified of forests!" He laughed with embarrassment moving the fur out from his eyes revealing his blazing blue eyes, "Most clans have big forests, but in WinterClan the trees are really spread out, it doesn't feel dark and forbidding. If I moved to another clan I'd be sweaty pawed and with the forests I'd be um. Kidnapped by bears!"
He turned his head away in shy laughter before finally meeting her mistletoe green eyes, "Okay maybe not that, but you get the point, it's kind of freaky thinking about moving, you know?"
She looked at him like he had birds flying out of his ears. "Kidnapped by bears?" She couldn't help but let out a small laugh. "And your scared of the forest? Why? Whats so scary about it?"
A streak of pink crossed his grey cheeks as he gave a flustered look, "I mean- Well. Y'know, the forests so unknown! There's cat and monsters lurking in there. I prefer WinterClan where I see everything right in front of me with no hiding places."
His ears were hot to the touch as he gave a bashful smile with a deceivingly daring look in his eyes, "Okay miss fearless, what are you scared of then?"
She thought for a moment before replying, "Water. Thats my biggest fear." She turned her head away, her own ears hot with embarrassment. Water was life and most of the clan cats knew how to swim. The farthest she would ever go would to just be getting a drink. She would never step foot in the waters. Water may be life but it could also cause death. Perhaps it wasn't water that made her afraid? Maybe it was dying? But then again, she could climb the highest mountain peak and not feel afraid. She wasn't sure what it was about water that made her feel so vulnerable; so freaked out by it,but whatever it was, made that a fear.
"No cat in my clan likes water and honestly even a cat that does love water can never enjoy it in my clan. It's freezing, even play in the shallow end for longer than a minute and you could get frost bite and be out for a half a moon! You'd love my clan, you should rant to them about water at gatherings, they'd get a kick out of it and agree with you!" He purred.
"Okay, okay, what's the biggest thing you've ever gotten in trouble for? Mine was when I was an apprentice I stuffed eight mice into my mouth to see how many I could hold! I was trying to get ten total, but I was stopped and got lectured about the warrior code and not wasting prey and how no one was going to eat that now. I was forced to eat all eight mice and it turns out I think I'm allergic to mice cause that same day I caught and ate six more and threw up EVERYWHERE. Everyone was so mad at me for playing with my prey and eating it all," He laughed, "Sadly the story doesn't end there..."
He shook his head as if not wishing to talk about the rest, "Anyways, what's the worst thing you've done?"
She couldnt help the laugh that bursted from her lips, causing her eyes to water. She had to steady herself and take deep breaths to stop laughing. "Im sorry, but thats really funny! I havent really done anything too bad. But I know that when I was an apprentice, I was hunting and I slipped on some leaves and went head first into a two trunk tree and got my head stuck...they had to pour honey all over my head so I could pull it out." She looked down at her paws, a small laugh escaped at the memory.
"SEE! Forests are so dangerous, I can't believe that tree tried to eat you. Good thing you had comrades near by. I say comrades because WinterClan changes all the time. With every change of two leaders there seems to be a change in culture entirely. We used to have ranks that helped rescue cats from blizzards and such, now we're all just expected to know survival training. Before there were like dozens of different types of guards and now there's really only one type. Things are just so different than they were before. I am glad that we're nicer though, that's been a nice touch, but I know it might not last long," Windyhurricane admitted before tilting his head, "We should do something. Like go some place, but like. Together!"
She wanted to point out to him that his territory was much more dangerous with all of the cliffs and blizzards but instead, she just shook her head and smiled. "Where?" she asked when he suggested they go somewhere together. It was illegal for both of them to cross the border. It was pretty suspicious already with the two of them talking. If either one of them were caught trespassing, they could both get in a lot of trouble. However, when was Stormgazer ever to shy away from adventure?
"Oh, I was just thinking the gathering place maybe? But like the ancient one! Every group of clans has their own special gathering place. The mountain clans are said to have one that hasn't been touched in years. We should go there!" Windyhurricane exclaimed, "I've never gone, but I have good intuition and know right around where it's at," He boasted.
