He awoke with mild bitterness to the cold, seeping in through the den like water soaking a sandy bay. Worse yet, it seemed to ooze into the skin and bone, leaving an irritable ache to his small body that gave an involuntary shiver as the kitten attempted to unfurl himself from the warmth of the moss nest he had been snuggled in. With a sigh that seemed to come more from a physical reaction than any thought, he gave a small stretch and brought himself out into morning routine of the Hollow. For a moment Givinchi-chan watched the casual back-and-forth, unamused by the common every-day banter that proliferated the discourse his ears caught snippets of. It was the typical conversations from the usual shades of personalities in the league; the bitter pessimist, the manipulators, the psychos, et cetera et cetera,. As young as he was he’d already become bored and disillusioned by the typical characters that made up the league’s general population.
Padding over to the fresh-kill pile, he pulled off a small bird that he nibbled on as he mentally made plans for trying to adventure off a little that day.
Gucci-chan had been in the territory between waking and dreaming, his small bengal form curled tightly beside his mother’s. He had felt the nest shift, and had raised his head to watch his brother leave. It wasn’t a warm morning, and he was loathe to face the unpleasant cold weather, but his curiosity had been stirred. So he extracted himself from the nest and followed, shaking off the sleep. “Why are you up?” He asked, padding up beside Givinchi-chan.
