Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Now, if I just adjust this, and if the resin holds strong, it should bend just a bit," he muttered, slowly working through it. His tongue peeked for the corner of his mouth as he worked, and his hazy eye was focused in on his task. He carefully eased the stick further into place, gave it a little wiggle, and it shifted closer... closer... with a brutal snap the stick slid from the sap and broken into two, and his carefully constructed contraption crumbled before his eyes. His eyes closed as he bent his head forward, exhaling slowly. Alright, alright; he'd been wrong.
Wyverndelirium buried his invention on the banks of the river and held a short ceremony over it. The next one would be better. Turning back, the dusty orange tom trotted along the water and back toward the camp. He had been away long enough; if he didn't rejoin a patrol, someone was going to bring it up. Like his brother, he often missed out on clan activities, but it was because he was too distracted and often got lost in thought. His hazy eye never seemed to be focused on anything but his next playful or helpful scheme.
His gaze fell upon the she-cat as he turned along the bank and his green eyes focused, a mischievous grin sliding across his features. "Hey, Oddface!" he called, waving his tail as he picked up the pace and bounded closer. "Fancy seeing you here."
For a moment, the Warrior fur bristled with uncertainty. It was strange to her to be greeting in such a friendly way. The black and white feline turned to Wyverndelirium and reclined her head. "It may sound strange, but the water here tastes the best." Oddface admitted with a shy shrug of her shoulders. It was the first thing that came to mind.
She gave her chest fur an embarrassed lick, "It's very fancy to see you here," But not even the reclusive Oddface could resist adding "Considering we live in the same Clan and all."
(sorry for the late reply, i don’t have a computer until wednesday so i’m a bit behind cx)
“Does it? I never noticed. I wonder...” he mused, turning to study the water with fascination. What was here that made it taste better? Perhaps he could invent something that would bring the same good taste to the rest of their water, make it fresh and clear so everyone would wish for a taste. His ear twitched as she went on and he looked up at her with a sheepish half-smile.
“Yeah, good point,” he laughed, “I guess it does make sense we’d run into each other. Do you fish here too or just drink the water?”
If cats could flush, the black and white she-cat would have been beet red. "Yes, I also fish here occasionally." Oddface responded. "Do you come here often?"
"Nope. Is the fishing good? Maybe they like the taste of the water here too. Or maybe they're the source of the good taste. I do like the taste of fish." He dismissed her question and returned to the intellectual challenge quickly, focusing on pondering this riddle and perhaps finding a solution. He stopped by this portion of the river on occasion, when it was convenient, but he had never sought it out specifically. Should he? One day he ought to sample this water and the water further downstream and see if he could taste the difference as well.
