"Almost... got... it...." Flyingpaw's tongue stuck out between her lips as she stood on her back legs against a tree, reaching as far with one of her forelimbs as possible. The cobwebs were just out of her reach but she didn't want to return to her mentor without something to show. They needed cobwebs after all and this was the season to get them. She tried to jump a bit without losing her balance but the odd colored blue merle she-cat was still just short of the sticky webs.
"Need some help?" chirped a voice from behind Flyingpaw. The short-legged cat that spoke up was still several tail-lengths away, but Trailpaw quickly crossed the distance until she was just to the side of the other apprentice. Yellow eyes traced the tree upwards, following the medicine cat's gaze until she noticed the tangle of cobwebs just out of reach. "Are ya trying to get some of those sticky strings?" Trailpaw asked, sitting down at the base of the tree, head tilted to the side.

Flyingpaw looked behind her to see Trailpaw sitting there and watching her reach for the sticky white webs. She nodded, placing all four of her paws on the ground thoughtfully. "I'm just short enough that I can't reach." She admitted. "Would you say you're bigger than me? Can you reach them?" She asked hopefully.
She couldn't help a soft purr of amusement at Flyingpaw's question. "I don't think I'm much bigger than anyone," she meowed, sticking out a too-short leg for emphasis. "I might be able to see if I can climb up there, though. I used to climb fences sometimes when I was younger, and this big, blocky tree with fur all over it." She gave a shake of her head, brushing off old memories to stop herself from rambling, before getting back to her paws. "I haven't done a lot of climbing in DayClan, but I'm sure this tree can't be too hard to climb up." Trailpaw narrowed her eyes a bit as she eyed the tree, wondering how difficult it actually would be for her to get up to the cobwebs.

"I'm not a great climber myself but be careful. If you get stuck, I don't think I'll be of much help." She purred with amusement. "I would appreciate the help but are you sure?" She didn't know Trailpaw well and had yet to see her climbing abilities but she wasn't about to doubt her clanmate without giving her a chance.
Her attention was still on the tree as her fluffy tail gave a small, almost dismissive flick. "Sure I'm sure," she meowed, scrunching up her face in thought before she scooted back a couple pawsteps, crouching down against the ground. Then she pounced at the tree, using her initial momentum to scrambling up about a tail-length. Not a lot of height, but at least she hadn't immediately slipped off. She dug her claws in tight, glancing back over her shoulder as she meowed, "See? I can totally do this." Then she turned her attention onto the tree, looking over the bark as she muttered, "Now, how do I get higher...?"

"Be carefuly!" Flyingcolors called up to her, flicking her tail in the air as she paced nervously near the base of the tree. Glancing around, she spotted a nearby branch the warrior might be able to use. "There's a branch not too far away, you might be able to use that."
She had definitely underestimated this tree, claws already starting to ache as she clung to its side. She was used to a mad scramble for the top, used to already being at the fence's peak by now. But she was going for something on the tree, so she couldn't just blindly scramble upwards. Trees also weren't nearly as smooth as a fence. Bad for what she was used to, but good for what she was trying to do. One ear turned towards the other she-cat as she spoke, yellow eyes brightening as she picked out the mentioned branch. Carefully she picked her way towards it, trying to use what little knowledge she already had that could be applicable. Maybe her past experience wasn't as useful here as she thought. Regardless, Trailpaw eventually hooked her claws around the branch, digging them in deep as she crouched on top of it and looking over the tree to see how close she was to the webs. "Think I could reach 'em now?" she asked, only half to herself.

[ Ah, sorry I didn't realized the threads tracker deleted some of them and I forgot to bookmark this >.> ]
"Maybe. Be careful. It's not worth it if you get hurt." She called up. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. What if Trailpaw got hurt? Not only wa=ould a cat be hurt in front of her but it would be the young she-cats fault to boot.
An ear turned towards the other she-cat as she spoke up, determination hardening her gaze at the other's words. She shifted on the branch, digging her hind claws in to make sure she was stable before she reached her forepaws up towards the webs. She was just able to catch a claw on it, carefully tugging on it to pull it closer. Eventually, slowly, she was able to wad some around her extended paw. She dropped down heavily onto her other forepaw just as her hindlegs began to ache from the strain, claws quickly digging in to maintain her balance. Then she looked back towards Flyingpaw, holding up her web-covered paw. "Got some!" she chirped, eyes bright for the moment before she looked towards the ground. Her ears turned back flat against her head as she muttered, "Now, how do I get down with only three paws...?"

"Put it on your head. It frees up your paws and makes it a lot more convenient." it was something the medicine cat had begun doing in her apprenticeship and honestly made everything more convenient. She looked foolish doing it, of course, and some cats did not let her forget that but it made her life oh so much easier when she had a large haul of herbs to bring in.
