Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"H-H-H-H-Hey, would you like to h-h-help me find some herbs?" Penguinpond stuttered.
The tom was new to DayClan and like most outsiders joining DayClan he was accepted practically the moment he asked. It took a lot for someone to be denied citizenship, even Foxstar's daughter had been allowed despite Foxstar having taken over DayClan only a few moons ago. But Glowstar and three fourths of the Immortal Council were outsiders so it wasn't too surprising that they were so welcoming to those not in DayClan. Penguinpond was from WinterClan and had wanted to live in DayClan after his older sister had been sacrificed to a deity. Which if there was any reason to grant someone a safe haven it was definitely that reason. The tom had dark grey and white fur and was currently shifting his paws nervously, his eyes trained to the ground unsure if the warrior would be interested in joining him. He had just become an herb reporter, but it wasn't known if he was even talented in finding any.
Coulterspring stopped mid-lick. "Sure!" she said excitedly. She didn't recognize the tom, however she knew DayClan was known for being welcoming; especially in this time of need. "How long have you been in Dayclan?" she asked.
"Oh um," He looked up in thought, "I-I-I-I suppose it's bee- been two days. My mo-ther is a medicine cat off in-in WinterClan. She told me to come here after older my sis-ter was essentially murdered by them."
He tried to slow down the best he could at words that he noticed he was struggling over to pronounce without a stutter. His yellow gaze shrank looking back at Coulterspring and immediately he darted his gaze in any direction that wasn't her. Before she probably passed his stutter off as being shy, but now it was obvious that it was an actual problem. He didn't want to be a charity case that she'd only help out of feeling bad for him. The tom had only recently become a warrior three moons ago, although, not truly. He had been apart of the rescue team, his warrior training was low, but thanks to his mom he was able to help DayClan by recognizing some herbs and reporting it back to the medicine cats.
"S-S-Sorry. I have a-a-a stutter and it gets annoying fast to some people. Like me," Penguinpond admitted.
Coulterspring shrugged. "I don't mind. I used to do it really bad when I was kit. I also gnawed my tail a lot.." she said with a chuckle. "It's okay. I can wait a few extra seconds for someone to speak." she said with a smile. "I'm not the greatest at recognizing herbs. What about you?"
"I-I can recognize them just fine," Penguinpond said, "My mother taught me that. She would sometimes want to sle-eep or eat and tell me and my siblings to pitch in. She-e-e believed that one of us could grow up to be a med-medicine cat apprentice. Bu-u-u-ut my sister Plumeria became one. She's no-no-no-no longer one though. Not after my sister was mur-murdered."
He stared down at his grey paws, still disappointed he wasn't able to speak a clearer statement than that.
Coulterspring stayed silent for a moment. I asked one question.. not for a whole biography! Coulterspring chuckled. She hoped with this endeavor she could help the warrior become more confident. She always liked helping others, whether they wanted it or not. "Well that's good then. Shall we get going?" she asked.
Penguinpond gave a firm nod and began heading out, but slowly he began to lessen his pace, before Coulterspring could ask why they could hear a rustle not far from them. Emerging out from the bushes was a cat that resembled that of a snow leopard, silvery and white fur patterned neatly in leopard markings with a plumed tail and icy blue eyes licked with gold around the edges. He smelled of WinterClan and seemed to be following some kind of scent.
"That's Barrenfrost," Penguinpond whispered, but decided to stay low to the ground so the tom wouldn't see him, "He used to be a prison guard and would b-b-basically enslave innocent c-c-cats."
So sorry for the late reply! I also get paid Friday and will be able to show you some ideas for the maps ~ ]
Coulterspring raised her head to look at the tom. "Hmmph." she grunted and continued forward. She motioned to Penguinpond to follow. Bullies were not her forte.
Barrenfrost's hackles raised at their presence, but immediately he dropped his guard recognizing the tom, "Oh, so this is where you moved to, it's a little too humid here for my tastes," Barrenfrost said, fanning himself a bit, he seemed relatively comfortable for being on another clans territory, "Who are you sweetheart? Or is that an actual warrior name in DayClan?" He grinned.
Penguinpond stepped slowly back, his ears flat. In every way Barrenfrost made him uncomfortable, but he realized he hadn't exactly explained in full detail to Coulterspring why that was.
Coulterspring narrowed her eyes at the tom. "I'm Coulterspring. Penguinpond and I are collecting herbs for our Clan." she said. The fur her back continued to raise. "Is there a reason you seem so comfortable passing borders?"
