Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Scout Cadet Aries slowly padded through the tunnels from the Garden back into Post Echo. Blue eyes glued to the floor, she only saw the paws of the cat in front of her before bumping into them. She lost her footing for a moment and clumsily danced around to prevent herself from tripping. Cadet Aries shook her head for a moment before turning away from the cat in front of her, face burning from embarrassment. "I'm... Sorry..." She softly peeped out.
Cadet Decimus took a step back when Aries ran into him. At first he started to apologize, but she beat him to it. "Oh it's alright! I wasn't paying attention so it was probably my fault." The young tom gave her a concerned look. "Are you alright?"
Cadet Aries looked up at her fellow cadet, though she looked at his forehead whe she looked up rather than in his eyes. Her orange tipped ears twitched as she nodded in responce to his concerns. "I'm fine, it wasn't your fault." Her voice was soft, almost like a whisper. "I wasn't watching where I was going, so I'm probably the one at fault here."
Not many cats took the time to make sure Cadet Aries was fine. She was used to her sister always badgering her, but consideration from others was a new concept to her. It was a rare moment when she looked into someone's eyes, and she stared her blue into Decimus's yellow. "I'm alright. My head hurts a bit, but like I said it's my fault I ran into you. I never watch where I'm going." The moment stopped as soon as she closed her mouth, going back from looking into his eyes to looking at his forehead.
Decimus wasn't fully convinced that she was alright, especially after she said her head hurt a little bit, but he also didn't want to bother her by being pushy or anything of the sort. "If your head hurts you might want to visit the guiders. They probably have something that can help with that." He had backed up a little more now. He had been planning on going for a walk, but perhaps it would be nice to spend a little time with one of his fellow cadets. Well, that was if she didn't decide to go to the guiders at the moment.
"The guiders..." She looked away for a moment. She had just left after seeing her sister, she didn't want to concern her with going back just slightly injured. "My sister Pisces is a guider cadet. I think I know what she would give me... Would you mind coming with me to get it?" Aries didn't really want to ask for his company, as she much preferred to be alone. Her plan was that maybe if she came with Decimus, she could hide next to him and avoid her sister. Pisces has a kind heart, but she could get a little too overzealous, especially when it comes to family. She didn't want to worry her sister with a slight bump.
"Well I suppose I could go with you." Honestly it was an odd request, but he had been thinking of asking her to join him so it really wouldn't hurt him to go. "Maybe we'll run into Apollo while we are there. He's really smart when it comes to medicine." Although the chances of seeing his uncle were unlikely since he was usually too busy to stop and socialize with his family, he had spoken to him at least once in his life when his mother had taken him and his brothers to meet him.
She smiled at him and nodded in thanks. Aries turned toward the direction she just came from and slowly started their journey back. As she walked, she scanned the walls and ceilings of the tunnels. She saw a small glimmer and stopped in her tracks, blue eyes locked onto the small sparkle.
Decimus would have kept on going, but he paused when he noticed that Aries was not beside him anymore and looked back. "What's the matter?" She didn't look like she was in trouble so it couldn't be that bad. Even so, he had turned and was heading back to where she was to see what it was she was looking at.
She felt a little embarrassed. "I..... Well, I like the shiny rocks... I found one..." She whispered, her face burning as she lightly scratched at the crystal.
"It's nothing to be embarrassed about. The stones are actually very pretty. I've heard one of the new tunnels that opened up are filled with them. They won't let us in them until the mercenaries check and make sure the tunnels are safe though." He had thought about sneaking out to see what they might be like, but he was too afraid of upsetting his mother so he had never been brave enough to do it.
She looked at Decimus in his face when he said she shouldn't be embarrassed. She gave him a bright smile, and asked him "Do you really like the shiny stones?" She asked him, continuing to slowly claw away at the one she just found.
"I do. They are pretty cool. I like the black stones though. They don't shine as much but that makes them unique." He sat down after a moment. "What about you? Which stone is your favorite?"
Aries paused her clawing and thought for a moment. "I think.... I think the blue ones are my favorite. My sister really likes them, so I really like them too." She looked at the stone she was currently trying to dig out- it was just a normal clear crystal. She had a lot already in her little collection, so she didn't really have a use for another. Then, she wondered. If he likes the shiny stones, would he liked one of his own? Even if it isn't the black one? She went back to clawing out the stone. Slowly, she dug at the wall until she was able to wiggle the stone out. It dropped to the ground and she swatted it over to Decimus, watching the dirt that kicked up in its trail.
Decimus watched her dig out the stone with a small smile on his maw. It seemed like more and more cats in the Regime were taking an interest in the crystals that could be found all over the tunnels. From what the older cats had said, they didn't have any crystals back in the old tunnels. He thought that had to be really boring, but from what he had heard, the Regime was very different now than it used to be. He looked down when she swatted the crystal towards him and smiled. "Thanks! I'll keep it for good luck!"
She felt her fur warm when he showed gratitude for her crystal. Aries smiled at him and gave him a small nod. "Hey.... My head is actually feeling better now. Thank you for helping me. Do you... do you want to look for more crystals maybe?" Aries really didn't want to visit her sister again, and she felt drawn to walk with Decimus for his shared interest in the crystals.
"Sure!" Decimus needed to gather a few more of the black stones anyway since he liked to use them to decorate his nest. "Lets head towards the underground forest. I've heard there are some crystals in the walls going down that way." He didn't head that way often, but he had been meaning to explore that way anyway so this would be the perfect oppertunity.
"Really?" Aries face brightened as blue eyes sparkled like the crystals she was so fond of. "I don't think I've been to the underground forest yet... Can you show me were it is?"
"Sure. It's a bit of a walk though since it's under DayClan." Of course Glowstar had gifted this underground forest to them after the Regime had helped to free them from SunClan's rule. It was odd since from what he had been taught of the Regime's history, they didn't tend to involve themselves in any wars or problems that started on the surface, but then again he was sure Commander Mars knew what he was doing. He hadn't done the Regime wrong so far so Decimus had no real reason to doubt him. He turned to head down another tunnel. "It should be this way."
