Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Glowstar walked out into the moonlight, the fragile beams of light trickled across her fur illuminating it like sparks of embers. She felt alone, it had been a while since she'd seen Deal. There were people around her that cared, that looked out for her and knew her even more than him. But they weren't him and that made all the difference. She had gone out looking for him, as if she'd find him, but soon realized that all she wanted was just company. Him or not. Not everyone gets what they want after all.
Windchaser trecked through the forest, her mind busy. So much change had happened and her brain felt like it were going to explode. She suddenly got a whiff of her leader on the breeze. Perhaps talking to her leader would help with her anxiety. She followed the scent until she was in sight of the golden she-cat, illuminating under the moon. She admired Glowstar for not only her wisdom and great leadership skills but also because of her beauty. She was the legendary Glowstar, leader of Dayclan. And if all of the stories she had heard about her were true, her leader could probably take over all the other clans but she knew that she wouldn't. But not only was Glowstar a strong leader, she was also an assassin and a very skilled fighter. Windchaser had always looked up to her and would have given anything to have been her apprentice. Not that her mentor had been a bad one. She loved her mentor. But maybe she could have learned more from Glowstar.
"Glowstar" Windchaser greeted, approaching her. There was a question Windchaser had been dying to ask her leader for a while but wasnt sure if she would ever agree to her request. Perhaps now was the time to ask.
A smile parted across her lips like light filtering through sunlight, "Windchaser," she said, her voice was like a soft song ending in a whisper, "it's good to see you," She purred.
Glowstar pressed her head against the warriors shoulder in a friendly greeting. If there was any warrior who showed absolute loyalty towards DayClan it was definitely Windchaser. She saw her as a warrior who was fiercer than any DayClan born cat had the nature to act. Gentle, but wasn't afraid to stop someone at the borders when so many cats could care less. She followed the warrior code without the leniency she had. But still had the heart and mindset to ask for help. She would have never thought Windchaser would find NightClan and ask them for help, that she may have been too prideful to do so, but she and Illuminatedpath had and she was proud of them for doing so.
"My legs are better," Glowstar said, stretching her leg out to show.
"I'm so glad to hear that" Windchaser purred, touching noses with Glowstar in greeting. "And its so good to see you too. Its been a while since we enjoyed each other's company."
"Yeah, it was hard to enjoy even a breath of air in SunClan. Now there's peace again and more moments to enjoy each others companies. Not that I get any breaks from them," She said rolling her eyes.
She met Windchaser's gaze and let out a small laugh, "I can't blame the warriors of SunClan though. They were born there, that's the only world they literally know, they don't allow apprentices at gatherings to even learn about other cultures so by the time their warriors their egotistic self centered cult members. They honestly don't know better, it's why I'm proud that DayClan cats never tried to change who they were even when SunClan tried to force them to change."
She brushed off her shoulder a bit, "So what are you doing out this evening?"
"I could never be a Sunclan cat." She shuddered. Then answered her leaders question, "I couldnt sleep. I was hoping some fresh air would ease my worries. There is peace for now but I dont know how long it will last, you know?"
"I never liked peace much, too boring for my taste," Glowstar remarked, but smiled and gentle as a flower petals said, "But what if there is peace for moons and you worry all that time. Then when danger arrives you worry while there is danger and when that danger has passed you're back to where you started. We're warriors, not worriers," She purred.
Of course it was easier for her to say such a thing. In the league a peaceful day without savagery was suffering at best. The league were the thrill seekers and demons of this world and although she could let go of her violent nature it wasn't easy to get rid of that primal instinct to catch chaos and thrills when she could. Her pain tolerance in every aspect was far different than anyone else's and she knew her clan hadn't kept calm for as long as she had during their capture. At the same time now there was very little room for any clans to cause them trouble. They had joined NightClan's alliance and SunClan in their twisted ways had apologized to them by giving them MoonClan which... Really wasn't the kind of offering anyone wanted, but desperately needed.
Windchaser took a seat in front of her leader, wrapping her tail neatly around her paws. "Glowstar," she began. "Ive heard stories about you. About what you used to be. How skilled you were at fighting. At everything, really" she laughed. Then her smile disappeared and she looked at Glowstar with a seriousness that she didnt wear often. "Will you train me?" Her green eyes were pleading but she kept the serious face.
The images of battles from the past ghosted past her eyes. She could still remember the lights going out of her cats eyes and leading her cats out of camp and to moon creek announcing that they had to train as assassins with honor and not warriors. That their way of life was no longer enough, but much of DayClan hadn't been interested including Windchaser and she didn't blame her. Now the world felt altered like waking up in the summer and seeing the world covered in snow. It felt almost wrong? Scary even, how much had to be altered for Windchaser to ask that. Or was that just growing as a person? Trauma and growing up was usually a blurred line.
Her gaze shifted onto Windchaser and for a moment faltered before regaining a confident line of vision. Finally she landed on the question, "Your word choice is interesting. Are you truly interested in my fighting skills or are you interested in my assassination skills?"
"I'm interested in both. More so the assassination, though." She hoped her leader didn't think it was a bad thing that she would ask that. "I promise to use it only for honor. After what happened in Sunclan, I want to be sure that I can defend my clan. I felt helpless when we were captured. And I had to watch cats die in front of me. I had to watch the light leave their eyes and I could do nothing to save them." She searched her leader's eyes for some kind of understanding. She almost felt responsible for some of the deaths that had happened. She remembered the night, when she was a newly appointed apprentice, that Primal Instinct attacked and she saw Lionspirit murdered trying to protect a friend and his clan. And all she could do was watch. Then the flash back of Deal loosing a life was vivid. That was a time when friends turned on each other and so many cats suffered. Her mate, Illuminatedpath, was even attacked and injured for trying to escape. And again, she felt helpless. She wanted to protect the cats she loved and the clan she loved. Maybe if she knew more, she could save more lives.
"I don't think I could train anyone more responsible than you," Glowstar admitted, for once looking completely thrown off that Windchaser was interested.
She had successfully trained six out of eleven, a nearly fifty percent success rate and only one had gone insane... The rest were kind of sort of already insane. So training someone who was sane would be entirely new!
"I accept the offer, yeah. I'll do it!" Her smile widened when she said it, shifting into that genuine, contagious grin, but more focused now than she had been a moment ago she added, "But it's going to be painful at the start. You have speed so your next best strength is likely endurance. You need to know how to take a hit, how to handle yourself if you're tormented. How to stay sane through isolation. That's endurance few clan cats ever learn, but ever hunter and mercenary in the Revolution Groups have already mastered at your age. After we would get into strength because you'd have mastered speed and endurance, but at the start it will hurt. Are you sure you still want this?"
Windchaser nodded, "Yes, please. Whatever it takes." She could feel the excitement and the adrenaline pulsing through her veins. She didn't show her excitement but deep inside, she felt she was about to burst with it.
