Slipkit whined as she felt a rough tongue running down her back, washing and smoothing her usually messy fluffy grey fur. It felt like she had been washed a million times over by this point, and the young she-cat was eager to leave the Nursery and go explore Waterclan's camp some more. Or maybe she could get some of the other kits to play a game with her! They could play moss-ball, and she'd leap so high and catch it so gracefully that Violetstar would have to make her an apprentice early by her skill alone! But they could also make up their own clan and play pretend! She could be Slipstar, the beautiful and enchanting leader that everyone loves! Or, or, OR!
"SLIPKIT!"
The kit was snapped out of her daydream, glancing upwards with confused clover eyes to see Tinybreath's annoyed glare. "What?"
The black warrior sighed; why was it always so difficult to get her niece's attention? After taking a deep breath, Tinybreath's frustration faded away, and she smiled amusedly. "I'm finished with your bath. Well actually, I finished about a minute or two ago, you just didn't notice. Anyways, you can go play now. Just don't leave camp, you hear me?"
Immediately Slipkit jumped up to her feet, nearly tripping over her feathery tail in the process, but managing to gain her balance. "Alright!" She chirped happily, darting out of her aunt's hold. The tiny she-cat glanced around the nursery, looking to see if anyone wanted to go outside with her.

"Finally!" Scorchkit huffed. "I've been waiting ages! I wanna go swimming so that when I become an apprentice, I'll be the strongest swimmer!" She exclaimed.
She began to follow Slipkit out of the nursery, shivering with excitement. She gave a glance at Tinybreath. "Uh, at least if it's okay with you?" She wasn't risking any trouble coming her way, at least not yet.
“No way!” A sudden voice came, scoffing. “I’ll be the best swimmer WaterClan has ever se-“ he cut off as he tripped over his own two paws, falling flat on his face. “Ow...”
Tinybreath rolled her ice blue eyes in exasperation; these kits certainly had larger-than-life personalities, just like their mother. Though in all honesty she never remembered Swangrace being so...clumsy. Perhaps that came from their father? Realizing that the gazes of her nephew and two nieces were still fixed on her, she gestured encouragingly towards the nursery entrance with her slender tail. "You can go swim by the waterfall," she instructed in her best 'parent' voice. "I'll be sharing tongues with the other warriors by the fresh-kill pile if you need me. And under no circumstances do you three leave camp, got it?"
Slipkit grinned with delight, bouncing excitedly around Scorchkit in happiness. "We can go! We can go!" But, of course, as she was jumping around, her front paw landed on a loose pebble, sending her flying to the side and colliding with Skipkit as her brother was trying to stand up again. The tiny kit let out an 'oof' as she landed directly on top of him, shaking her head to regain her senses before laughing sheepishly. "I-I'm okay! Skipkit, you okay too? Sorry!"

Scorchedkit rolled her eyes and laughed gleefully as she bounded out of the nursery and headed straight for the brook. She sprinted and took a flying leap into the water.
"WAHOOOO!" She screamed before going under the water and coming back up. "AH, IT'S COLD." She yelped as she waded back to the shore.
Skipkit gave an ‘oof’ as his sister collided with him, knocking the wind from his lungs. When he had finally caught his breath, he gave a weak,”Yea..” in return. His eyes shifted until he saw Scorchedkit leaving the water. “What’s wrong, afraid of cold water?” He teased with a small chuckle.
Slipkit shook her pelt as she got back up to her feet, giggling at her sister as she bounded after her siblings outside. It wasn't quite Newleaf yet, with small piles of snow scattered here and there, but the sun was shining, and it looked like the perfect day to play. Instead of getting caught up in Scorchedkit and Skipkit's chase, she delicately dipped her front paw into the water, giving a little shiver at the cold before sticking her entire paw in and swishing it around.

She slowed down as she saw Slipkit going into the water. "Come on Skipkit!" She called as she went back. "I'm going to actually swim this time." She stated as she stepped back into the water.
"Yeah Skipkit, come in with us! The water's not so bad if ya give it a while!" Slipkit called back, leaning over to brush affectionately against her sister as Scorchedkit approached. She took a few more cuatious steps forward, until all four of her paws were submerged in the pond's water.
“Okay!” He spun around then began sprinting to the water, not wasting any time now. He was too excited to test the water, and he flopped in with a splash, water spraying in all directions.

Scorchedkit began treading water before starting to paddle. "H-hey! Look at me Tinybreath! I can swim so good!" She said before starting to drop as she swam into the deeper area. "Oh, wait, AH, TOO DEEP!" She panted before trying to swim back to shore. "Ack! Help!"
Meanwhile, Tinybreath was resting over by the fresh-kill, lounging in the sunlight as she casually chewed on a freshly caught bluegill. Every so often she'd glance up towards the waterfall to check on the kits, stiffening in worry everytime they flopped over or tripped on the pebble-covered ground. Her ears perked up as she heard Scorchedkit calling out to her, and motherly instincts she never realized she had kicked in as she was ready to sprint over and help her niece when the kit began to sink. The black she-cat was only stopped when Elder Gravelshell's tail rested on her shoulder.
"Hold on, Tinybreath. Watch."
Sure enough, as soon as Scorchedkit began struggling in the deep water, Slipkit bounded in after her sister, the silver kit paddling with all her might through the water until she reached her. "D-don't worry, Scorchedkit!" She mewed as she grabbed her sibling by the scruff and pulled her back to the shallows. "I've got ya!"
Tinybreath let out a sigh of relief and slumped against Gravelshell, who was chuckling with amusement; being a parent was probably going to kill her someday. And she was only an aunt; she couldn't even imagine how stressful it must be for she-cats with their biological children. "Please don't drown!" She called to them across camp, frowning. "Stay where you can see the bottom! And don't go too close to the waterfall, the current can pull you under!"
Skipkit bobbed up and whitnessed the scene that played out with his siblings. He chuckled and paddles over. “What’s the matter, can’t swim too well?” He teased. Skipkit was lucky, and his instincts seemed to have taken over and showed him the exact way to swim, never having a moment of trouble.

Scorchedkit coughed a bit before giving him a nasty glare. "Thanks, sis." She sat there and huffed. "I can't swim. I'm a WaterClan cat that can't swim. WHAT IS MY PURPOSE ANYMOOORE!!!" She yelled into the void.
Slipkit rolled her eyes before cuffing her sister upside the head. "You can swim, dummy." She deadpanned, before bounding back into the water and paddling around alongside Skipkit. "You just need to practice more! Come on, try again! Skipkit and I will help you!" Giggling, she turned her back to Scorchedkit, swinging her tail and sending a soft sprinkle of water onto her sister's head.
