Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
For over two moons Strawberrypaw had been locked up in SunClan and worse part was that even when they were free they were snowed out of their territory. No one could get in and without any other options Glowstar had moved them into the Keepers Mansion as she had done last leafbare. Strawberrypaw's entire family survived the ordeal all except for Eclipsepaw who stayed behind in SunClan. She seemed afraid to leave more than anything almost worried that if she did leave that SunClan would find her and punish her. Perhaps even if Eclipsepaw chose to come back with Strawberrypaw her fears would come true. After all Keepers Mansion was located off the cusp of SunClan's border. Maybe there really were cats that would drag her back and it wasn't her choice. Or maybe Eclipsepaw really did abandon Strawberrypaw. Either way it was Shaleeempyrean who stood in one of the mansions doorways when Strawberrypaw entered. Her brown eyes were warm and gentle. She seemed to hold an understanding, one that suggested that she knew all that happened, "Come here Strawberrypaw," She said soothingly the way a big sister would.
She had been Strawberrypaw's mentor for moons now and having watched DayClan be forced to leave hurt. It hurt her even more to realize that her own clan SpringClan had been captured as well.
The light blue-grey she-cat stared back with a dubious look in her enigmatic green eyes. These days, she could barely bring herself to trust anyone. She took a tentative step forward. Though she saw the understanding in her mentor's eyes, her heart screamed at her not to trust her, and that she'd get hurt. But Strawberrypaw was desperate and finally came forward, tail drooping despondently.
Shaleeempyrean embraced her. Her head lowered over Strawberrypaw's body and her paw gently brushed against the apprentices back as she whispered soft comfortingly, "I'm sorry..."
Apart of her wondered if anyone missed her back in Toxicity before she left for SpringClan. She was too afraid to return back to Toxicity because she didn't want to get beaten. She wondered if Eclipsepaw left in some sort of fear too. The more Shaleeempyrean thought the more she realized that likely some of the rookies and sucklings likely did miss her, maybe they were hurt without her just like Strawberrypaw. It felt almost like destiny for such a thing to happen so long ago and be repeated once again now.
"I just... I just wish I could do more, but I'm not here like a real mentor. If I was here I would have held your paw through it all and I would have given you warmth in the cold, but I can't. Sometimes it's hard to get that reality check you know? But I'm here for you now and I want to make up for that lost time," Shaleeempyrean offered.
"You are a real mentor," Strawberrypaw insisted. "And of course you can make up for that. It's not your fault that you physically were not able to be there." Yet sometimes the blue-furred apprentice wished her mentor was alive, so that she'd be able to see her even after Strawberrypaw became a warrior. Part of her was scared to be promoted, to be without her mentor. It wasn't as if she didn't have loving parents, but she longed for the deep life-long connection that other Clans' mentors could have.
She smiled warmly at her apprentice, "You know, back where I was born, Toxicity. When kits grew up we didn't have mentors, only cats with good families that had connections would be able to train. Any rookies that failed were sometimes killed by the chief. It's why I ran away. So I guess in that perspective having a mentor is better than nothing at all, but still. Guess I should have hoped for reincarnation," She laughed with amusement.
Her white and red tabby tail swished to the side, "Come on, I want to teach you something fun, like maybe some hunting training? If you want I can teach combat, but you know how I love to hunt."
