Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
When Servalpaw woke up after her first day sleeping in the Keepers Mansion she was immediately greeted by Wintersolstice's muzzle nuzzling into her. It had been two moons since she'd seen her spirit guide from being imprisoned in SunClan. Since being freed they found that they were completely snowed out of their camp and opted to move into the Keepers Mansion. It was right up against the border of SunClan and the tensions couldn't be greater.
"I missed you so much Servalpaw. I watched them walk you out of your camp and I watched you all the way until I couldn't anymore," Wintersolstice said with a broken look in her gaze as she looked Servalpaw over for any wounds she may have received during her imprisonment, "Are you okay? Did they hurt you?"
A crooked half-grin broke out on the spotted apprentice's face. "I'm a lot better now that you're here," she admitted. With no parents, her spirit guide was the closest thing she had to a guiding figure in her life. "I'm good, they didn't hurt me at all. Not physically, anyhow."
"That's somewhat good," Wintersolstice smiled, but was just happy Servalpaw was in one piece, "Maybe I should teach you endurance... Well what would you like to do today? We could do endurance, but it's very painful, however you only need to master it once. Or we could practice fighting."
"Okay, so you already know how to effectively escape from being pinned. However at times if you are pinned by a predator such as a fox or badger they may either give up fighting you or loosen their hold to play dead. This requires a lot of stillness despite massive amounts of pain, but can save your life. So we need to first practice a low breathing technique so you can concentrate on your breathing while feeling pain. You need to take small shallow breaths. It lowers your heartbeat, but also the oxygen going to your brain. You need to do it just enough to keep the darkness from edging too close to your eyes and remain conscious. I'll know you can do it when you can breathe lightly for five minutes straight. It's not as easy as you think though."
Wintersolstice moved over to Servalpaw placing a paw by her muzzle in order to tell how lightly she breathes.
