Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Likely just wanted to put on a tough front," Electricwolf grunted. "But we made it to the medicine cats now, so she'll be okay." He assured Safara, "Vixenpaw and Flyingcolors are trained to help cats that are injured."
Electricwolf gently wrapped his tail around Safara, "She's going to be all right, they're good healers they're going to fix her right up. Are you hungry? Do you want me to go grab you and your sister a mouse to share?" He asked.
Safara gave him a surprised look. "Um... actually." Her ears flicked back somewhat, as though in embarrassment. "We don't really know anyone else here. I'd... prefer if you stayed. We can eat after her injury has been seen to."
Electricwolf nodded slowly shifting to sit back down. "Okay, I can stay." He said, "But we don't need to wait, Illuminatedpath," He said the tom having been just about to depart. Illuminatedpath turned to him. "Could you fetch a mouse for these two? They've been through a lot." He said.
Illuminatedpath cast his gaze to the two young she cats, and then he nodded. "Sure I can do that." He said turning and trotting away.
Electricwolf turned to Safara, "You're both going to like it here. I know it will take some getting used to but DayClan cats are very friendly, just wait till you meet Glowstar. You look about apprentice aged, so you'll likely be able to start training as soon as your sister heals." He said. "But you don't need to worry, you're among friends." He assured her.
"Thank you, Electricwolf." Safara mewed. "Yes, thank you." Kamara managed. She didn't like to talk as much as her sister, but even she knew how much they owed the tom.
"You're welcome." Electricwolf said, "I'm just..." He trailed off. "I'm just glad you both were able to make it out mostly okay, thank StarClan for that. Though one thing we can discuss while we wait for Illuminatedpath to get back is you two can come up with new names... if you want to that is." Electricwolf said. "Or Glowstar can bestow upon you your clan names if that's what you'd like. Or she can confirm your names. Or- I think I'm getting ahead of myself."
"So In DayClan we have all our kits start off with a prefix, like for instance when I was a kit, I was Electrickit." He meowed. "Then when I became an apprentice, which was when I was about your age, I was Electricpaw. Then when I became a warrior I became Electricwolf." He meowed. "Now if you want to stay Safara and Kamara, that's entirely all right, but if you'd like to take up a new name. New name, new life, it's not uncommon for some cats to do that. You're free to choose to pick whatever prefix you'd like, and then when Glowstar accepts you, she can grant you that name and your suffix of paw, and thus making you both apprentices of DayClan," He said with a purr.
The two sisters turned to each other. What passed between them, it was hard to tell. They turned back to him as one. "I shall be Firstpaw." Murmured Safara with absolute confidence. "I'll be Lastpaw." Kamara said.
Vixenpaw made her way over to the injured she-cat and examined the wound before going back to the storage and grabbing the herbs she needed. She checked the wound again when she got back. "Does that look infected to you?" she mewed with a tilt of her head, not even really looking at anyone. It was more of a question to herself than to the other cats. She shrugged, better safe than sorry. She applied the herbs that were needed to stop an infection and reapplied fresh cobwebs.
Kamara, or Lastpaw, as she had chosen to call herself, grimaced through the process, but uttered not a peep. Firstpaw watched worriedly, clenching her jaws to refrain from questioning the medicine cat, and forcing herself to trust Vixenpaw's judgement.
Vixenpaw could sense that Firstpaw wanted to question her judgement. She glanced over at the newly named apprentice. "Is there something you wish to say?"
Vixenpaw gave a short nod of acknowledgement and went back to dressing the wound. After a few minutes, she said, "No doing anything that might reopen the wound. Take it slow when you walk, and come back at least twice a day to have the bandages changed."
