Lupinepaw darted towards her "Lean on me if you need to but we need to get across quickly." He told her, glancing around and hoping that the monster was still far enough away for them to get across safely.

As the monster approached faster, he had no choice but to grab her by the scruff and half push, half throw her off of the thunderpath. She was off and safe and he flattened his body against the hot ground as the monster passed over him. His breathing was heavy and labored and his brown eyes wide as he came out the other end terrified, but alive and intact. Taking this chance, he sped the rest of the way and joined his companion. "Holy Starclan, I thought I was a goner."
Sundapple let out a bit of a grunt as she landed, but struggled to her paws to watch for Lupinepaw. She'd never forgive herself if he was hurt saving her. She let out a sigh of relief as he came to nestle besides her. "I'm so sorry..." was all she could get out as she pushed her nose into his fur.

He gave her cheek a few comforting and friendly licks and shook his head. "Don't be, I'm okay and it wasn't your fault.. Accidents happen. I'm sorry I told you to run across the thunderpath it was reckless of me." As the situation settled in her burned with shame and embarrassment. He could have gotten Sundapple killed and it would have been his fault. What would the clan think if something had happened to her? What would his mother and Brightwing say? His shame and guilt only burrowed deeper at the sentiment.
"But I shouldn't have frozen up like that. What kind of warrior am I going to be if I can't even handle a simple stumble?" She wanted to go hide in a hole and pull the earth in behind her.

He shook his head. "No, don't do that to yourself that's not fair. Those monsters are terrifying. I froze up the first time I tried to cross myself. I'm just used to it now." The tom admitted. He wasn't a warrior just yet but he would be promoted soon and so he felt extra responsible for what had just happened.
"But it's not my first time. I've crossed plenty of thunderpaths with Brick!" She sighed and shook her head. "We should get moving. No reason to linger here."

He nodded, watching her carefully. "I'm sorry. You're right though, let's go. It's not very far off the thunderpath." He said a bit awkwardly, leading the way towards the red tree while also keeping an eye on her. He was worried she might be injured or something.

He nodded, concern in his eyes. Man, he felt like dirt and this was his fault. "Come on, we're almost there and then we can rest. My paws feel raw from the thunderpath." He wanted to make sure she rested but it was true, they felt raw and scraped as if there was nothing left on the pads of his feet.
She eyed his paws worriedly, trying to remember what Graythorn used for that kind of thing. Unable to recall, she sighed and gave his ear a lick. "Alright."

He smiled at her affectionate gesture and led the way, carefully picking a path that was more smooth and did not have a lot of rocks or twigs so that her feet would not hut or get reinjured. Just as he said, they arrived at the tree quickly and he stopped, smiling at her with a large and enthusiastic smile. "We're here!" He announced, curious to know how she would react.

He shook his head. "Nope! I thought they were too but then I just sort of... stumbled across it when I wasn't really even supposed to be over here." He admitted sheepishly.
