"Come on, you'll see!" He picked up his pace and eventually they were at the small waterfall that fed into the river cutting through Summerclan territory. "I like it here. It's a bit noisy, but the prey can't hear you." He told Sunpaw with a grin. Lupinepaw was also a fan of the water so the mist it gave off in the middle of greenleaf was always pleasantly welcome.
"It smells nice here." She purred. The scent of moist earth had always been a favorite of hers', and here it blended with the fresh aroma of growing things. She thought she caught the scent of vole as well but was somewhat occupied with all the other smells.

He grinned and glanced at the partially frozen waterfall. "We should come back here in greenleaf together, it smells even better and is a cool spot when it's too hot to even hunt outside." Unlike winterclan who had to brave harsh and cold conditions all year round, summerclan endured cold winters and brazenly hot summers. Most of the clan had thinner pelts to help beat the heat and they would even have patrols to fetch water for queens, kits, and elders as it was too hot for them to travel.

He watched her move away for a moment before turning and following the scent of a squirrel. It was odd to find one over here during this season but he wouldn't say no, they usually had more meat on them than a single mouse or vole.
After a few steps, She caught the scent again, much stronger this time and heard tiny feet in the ferns ahead. She dropped automatically into her hunting crouch and pricked her ears. There it was, just a couple foxlengths ahead. Making sure the breeze was coming towards her, she stalked forth, checking her stance before the pounce. Finally, She leaped, landing squarely on her quarry and snapping its spine.

It didn't take Lupinepaw long for him to locate the squirrel he scented. At the last moment, the small grey creature detected him but he pounced and managed to snag it with a neat killing blow. "Whew, I thought I was going to lose it." He muttered to himself before looking around to check she hadn't seen his slip. He grabbed it and stuffed it inside of a nearby tree to try and discourage other predators from taking it.

Lupinepaw search for more prey proved to be fruitless and he stomped a forepaw down in frustration. Glancing over to Sunpaw, an idea suddenly occurred to him. While she was distracted, he crouched and crept up to her before touching her with a forepaw and grinning. "You're it!" He shouted and dashed away, waiting for her to reciprocate his game.
Sunpaw nearly tumbled into the water from surprise, but leapt after him all the same. "Get back here ya furball!" she called after him, laughter in her voice.

The black tom laughed loudly as she sprinted after him and he looked forward, trying to stay ahead of her but not going too fast, it would be no fun if she fell behind. "You'll have to be faster if you want to catch me!" He called playfully in a sing song voice as he looked over his shoulder at her.
A playful growl rose in her throat as she charged after him. All the travel in her early life had granted her powerful legs, and as she lengthened her stride, allowing the rhythm of her paws thrumming against the ground to guide her, Sunpaw rapidly began to gain on her playmate. (Thank you! Primordialhaze went over most of the technical bits with me, but I certainly may reach out for plot help.)

He was alarmed by how quickly she gained on him and he tried to put extra speed in his paws but they were getting tired already and she was so close that it was almost inevitable she would get him.
Her eyes narrowed at the unexpected success. Was he going easy on her? He better not be! As Sunpaw drew within pouncing range, she glanced about to ensure there was nothing that would hurt either of them when she tackled him. Finding nothing, she leaped, using an exposed root as a launching pad.

Lupinepaw let out an off of surprise as she tackled him and they rolled a few times before they finally stopped and Lupinepaw lay on the ground with Sunpaw on top of him. "You surprised me!" He meowed with a purr and cuffed her ears playfully, but he was laughing nonetheless. "You're fast," he added. Not a lot of cats could keep up with him like that for so long either! "You're fast,"
She purred at him and flicked him with her tail. "Do you want to go back for our prey, keep hunting, or have you other ideas?" The last bit was added teasingly.
