Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Ever since Foxstar was promoted to co-lead beside Glowstar there had been a divide in DayClan. Foxstar had been leader of SunClan when she raged a war against DayClan, enslaving them, killing their warriors, queens, and even Glowstar herself, as well as stealing their kits. Now Foxstar had supposedly changed, she wanted to do good and as Glowstar put it, the best way for her to do the most good is to give her the power to do more positivity. Like handing over the title of co-leader to her.
The clan wasn't the only one outraged though, StarClan was too. DayClan had already turned their backs on StarClan, but StarClan had hoped that DayClan would change their minds. Now that Foxstar was in charge alongside Glowstar though, there was no chance. So StarClan sent out a dream to every cat in DayClan, pleading with them to meet under White Tree at the furthest reaches of DayClan if they still believed in StarClan.
Flurryofstarsseeker Tigerlily walked beside Snowthorn, gazing behind her to check if Dartfrog was nearby, he was another cat she trusted. Looking back at Snowthorn she dodged his gaze last second, "There's something you should know... That maybe you and I should talk about it and maybe Dartfrog too, but that's it, no one else. We can just drag behind the group and talk about it, it's just not something that can wait..."
pLutostardance Lilacbane had been quick to pull her family along on this trip. StarClan was being ignored by DayClan, if they asked for them she would follow. She didn't want Coyotechaser to stay behind and think it was okay to neglect StarClan like so much of the clan believed. Snowcloak probably thought it was weirder though considering his MoonClan origins, but she hoped he would understand and come along anyways, "I know you two probably aren't heavenly into StarClan, but StarClan is what gives stability and safety to us. I think we at least owe them a visit if they ask for one, right?"
Snakeroothaven strolled toward the tree, his velvety ears back as he glanced around the group to try and spot one of his siblings. Following StarClan was an easy decision for him; after all, their parents were both medicine cats, even if they hadn't always followed StarClan, and they felt that the stars were in their blood. JadieHoneystorm
Swallowingsea pushed his way through the cats heading to the tree, determined to be there first.
Moltenmidnight waited until Fallingleaves showed her face then padded over to her side and quietly sat down next to her. Things between the two of them were still pretty rocky so he decided not to sit too close or say anything at all, hoping that his mild presence alone would perhaps bring her some comfort. A bengal tom was no fool. A storm was brewing and it was the kind that put all of their lives at risk. racer

Divinefavor was sitting alone but her odd eyes were scanning the crowd for a familiar face, mainly Harvestcharm. She wouldn't seek him out of course, that would be weird, but she'd at least like to know where her brother was in case things went sour.

Snowthorn's ears perked as he sensed something amiss with Tigerlily. If something was bothering her--something private--he wouldn't expect her to talk about it during a time like this. So it had to be extremely important. "Alright," he said, slowing his pace enough to allow them to organically fall behind. He managed to send a motioning nod to Dartfrog as well, allowing him the option to join them if he wanted to. He trusted him well enough, but he also knew the warrior wasn't one to involve himself in too much drama either. Still, it would be nice to have him along for this... whatever it was.
Once they were a fair length behind the group, Snowthorn turned his prying azure gaze to his mate. "What is it?" Faithseeker
Pumpkinking had accompanied Fallingleaves, and he was a step behind her. He frowned as when Fallingleaves sat down Moltenmidnight sat down near her. The ginger tom sat down beside his mate and glanced around at the others. He didn't really like that StarClan had opted to send them a message.
Though admittedly he was shocked to learn DayClan had cut out StarClan, as such was unheard of in most of the Mountain Clans. Except for WinterClan, but WinterClan was WinterClan. racer

Rubyflame had gotten up immediately to make a beeline for the white tree, but now that she was here, with her son Knightrunner and her mate Fang, she realized that there were more important cats missing than she'd like. Her eyes narrowing.
Dartfrog pads to Tigerlily and Snowthorn, amber eyes blank and void of all emotion. "Yes?" he asks gruffly. He steals a glance back towards the group, again, his face showing nothing. FaithFlurryofstars
Being raised in MoonClan and forced to believe in some deity named "Selene", he grew to resent the concept of religion. He felt that he was limited, restrained. Everything he did was predicated by something or somethin he had never even seen himself and that's not the one he would like to live, which helped him decide to leave his clans.
Snowcloak sighed. "Lilacbane, you know how I feel about religious things, don't you? I'm only doing this because you asked. Anything beyond just being there is going to have to be a hard pass."
Flurryofstarsseeker Tigerlily stuck to the bottom of the hill while their clan mates moved to the top, but once everyone moved past them she lost her usual cool exterior. Her ice blue eyes glistened in the dawns light as she met theirs, "I murdered Fia Cendrillion," She said in a hush tone, "On the patrol when she was last seen. She was struggling to climb out of the from fence... And I shoved her into the mouths of the dogs because I thought she was holding me back. My cousins always put me in a bad light and let you get hurt Snowthorn and never saw me as anything more than a future murderer like my parents so I just... Gave her what she always knew of me. I thought Glowstar would promote me to the Immortal Council, but instead there was no new Immortal Council, I killed her and now it was all for nothing. I... Also chased off Dizzyclimb, she saw what I did and I scared her away, but she'll come back and tell everyone. Also doesn't help that I chased off Glowstar's daughter and murdered her granddaughter..." Tigerlily let out a slow, controlled sigh of breath, but raised her paw to signal that unfortunately that wasn't all, "I'm so sorry, I really screwed us over Snowthorn. I'm pregnant with our kits, I'm not showing yet... I thought that maybe, whatever happens up on that hill will be a new opportunity for everyone to get ahead. You can tell everyone we broke up and when I have our kits you can raise them and say the kits came from another she-cat you won't name. That way they won't have to grow up tied to a murderers bloodline like I was. That's the plan," She said rubbing her paw behind her leg. "I really do love you Snow..."
pLuto "You'll love StarClan though," Lilacbane tried to reason. The warrior code, StarClan, all the warrior values, they were all in the name of bravery and honor. If he gave it a chance she knew he would enjoy the more traditional clan lifestyle. There was still structure, but it was nowhere near as domineering as MoonClan had been, "StarClan is made up of ancestors, families, friends, past leaders, they're not gods thirsty for power, but those who walked the same earth as us and struggled as we have. I know if you meet them that you'll grow fond of them too."
stardance Lilacbane turned around to try and find their son Coyotechaser, he had to be around somewhere, she had woken him up to come along, but she was becoming worried when she didn't spot him.
"Thank-you for coming."
A StarClan cat made up of twilight and stardust moved down from their perch in White Tree, moving to the front of the crowd of DayClan cats. "I am Whispyfeather, a past DayClan warrior. I have seen firsthand the atrocities that Foxstar had committed when opportunities gave her power. She enslaved our clan, stole our kits, killed those who failed to please her and her god. Whether you believe a cat who has committed such war crimes can be trusted doesn't negate the fact that she has no right as leader of our clan from the sins she committed. Glowstar has made it clear that this is her decision, but I want to offer you a life that doesn't entail being forced to follow an ex dictator. StarClan is more than happy to give you a new clan with better lands, new leadership, a place where you can lead a clan peacefully. You can once again follow the warrior code so you can gather herbs from other clans as well as guidance and a peaceful afterlife in death."
Whisperfeather sat down in front of the group of DayClan cats that gathered, "If you wish for this new life stay at White Tree and I will guide you, but if you wish to return to Foxstar and Glowstar's leadership, then you may go back to camp." CleaverJadieFlurryofstarsJetclawseekerpLuto
Pumpkinking blinked bewildered as this starclan cat appeared before them all. He found himself straightening up, trying to look more proper in the face of one of their ancestors. Even though he'd only been in DayClan for a little while.
He listened with rapt attention, tilting his head. A new clan? New lands? He'd heard whispers DayClan had left StarClan behind which had shocked him, and he'd been surprised when Foxstar had been reinstated as a leader. A secondary leader of DayClan no less.
He'd gone along with it of course, he loved Fallingleaves, but he wouldn't deny he was wary of Foxstar. He'd been part of SpringClan when NightClan had attacked and handed them over to SunClan to be imprisoned alongside DayClan.
He knew what a terrible cat she was, and what an awful dictator of a leader she could be. And now could easily become again.
It certainly would be nice to not have to worry about her as leader anymore.
But... He glanced around noting that a portion of their clan was absent.
Were they all enough to start up a clan? Who would be leader? None of them were in the ranks, and there was no longer an immortal council to pick.
And if they simply went off who would be leader from the imperials. He cut his eyes to Moltenmidnight and grit his teeth having heard from Fallingleaves about what he'd try to do that Glowstar had helped her put a stop to.
Would he try to seize this as an opportunity to make what he wanted so?
"But where would we go, surely you're not suggesting we drive out Foxstar and the other cats of DayClan with her?" Pumpkinking asked.
Rubyflame's ear twitched, her eyes narrowing as she considered this offer. "I know first paw what you speak of Whispyfeather, you are absolutely right that Foxstar can be trouble. But if StarClan has the power to give us new everything, why not simply give us the power to get rid of Foxstar?" She questioned.
"DayClan is my home," Rubyflame went on. "I refuse to let Foxstar simply have it, while we all go elsewhere and strike out anew in somewhere unfamiliar."
Snakeroothaven's eyes narrowed as they considered the proposal. He had no hard feelings toward Glowstar, she was a kind cat and she was genuinely trying her best... but he couldn't deny that she struggled to make the right choice sometimes. His family had fled to this clan because it was a sanctuary, but when she let murderers run rampant in her clan and put one in a position of power, he had to question her judgment. Maybe they would fare better with a fresh start, and a new clan in a new territory was a good start.
How could StarClan promise peace? He doubted they could be so certain of the future unless they had everything planned out already. A good leader would make or break the clan, and they did not want to be trapped in the same bad position the clan was currently in...
Cutting through the other cats, Snakeroothaven wove his way to the front of the StarClan cat and tilted their head back, contemplating her raptly. Their other questions were too small, but he knew the right thing to ask. "Who would lead this new clan?"
Whispyfeather immediately raised a paw at Pumpkinking's inquiry of driving out Foxstar and their current clan mates, "We would never think of it. But our influence is guidance only, what we're proposing is to start anew, not guidance on how to overthrow your leaders. Through the stretch of desert is a large oasis surrounded by long lush landscapes. That is where your new clan can thrive."
Turning to Snakeroothaven Whispyfeather nodded, "Your new leader shall be Lilacbane. She is the daughter of the legendary figures of DayClan, Windchaser, ex immortal council member and Illuminatedpath. Both cats have proven loyal warriors when they ran fast enough to get reinforcements for DayClan. I believe that Lilacbane can lead you with the same bravery, resilience, and values as they had."
With that Whispyfeather stepped forward, "Are we all ready to leave then?"
pLuto Tears welled up in Lilacbane's eyes hearing the StarClan warrior state her name to be the leader of their brand new clan. She no longer had family, but every life lesson they imprinted on her spirit lived within her. She hardly spared a glance at Snowcloak, too afraid he would look at her and beg her not to take it, but this was everything she never knew she would get in life, "I accept the leadership role. I know I can do this, we can follow the warrior code again, but still hold onto our traditional DayClan values of allowing outsiders in, but we'll do so with more safety precaution in mind. And we'll be safer because we won't roll over to enemies like the old DayClan did, I know we can do this!" Lilacbane said staring at all of her clan mates before more shyly adding, "Are you all with me?"
The tom continued to give her a skeptical look. "We shall see, we shall see." Maybe she was right, he might grow fond of them. Only time would tell.
Snowcloak could only look on in awe as the StarClan cat addressed his mate.
Lilacbane? New leader? What's going on?
He was under the impression that they were just there for a visit, not the selection of the new leader of DayClan. He wanted to question her about what was going on but he was still in shock. He had no idea what was going on. What would this mean for them? Would something change? There were too many questions he wanted to ask, but he had to wait. Lilacbane turned to the crowd that was gathered there and called out to them and asked for their support. It stung a little knowing she didn't talk to him about this beforehand, but regardless he would know he support her anyway. He looked around at his clanmates to see what their response would be to her question.
Divinefavor had always been loyal to StarClan. It hadn't even been a question of whether or not she'd go to White Tree, it had been a compulsion, but, as she listened to Whispyfeather speak with rapt attention, she could help but feel sick to her stomach. It was one thing to crown a new leader and start over. It was something else entirely to leave DayClan territory. This was where she was born and raised, where many of her family members were buried, and the only place in the world that would feel like home for her.
"I don't want to go to a new territory," Divinefavor said, stepped in line next to Lilacbane with glowing odd-eyes set on the StarClan spirit. Her paws were trembling slightly - she was very anxious - but she felt strongly about this and had to make her voice heard, "DayClan is our home. Even if we split off into our own Clan, I can't imagine Glowstar rejecting us. We may not agree but surely we can coexist."
Rubyflame nodded stepping up beside Divinefavor. "I agree wholeheartedly. If anything she'd welcome a shake up in the status quo." The ginger and white she cat said with a purr of amusement.
But then she became serious. "I have no desire to leave Glowstar and our clanmates behind. I've seen what Foxstar can do first paw, and while she kept me away she twisted my kits against me. If we leave the rest of our clanmates and our home to her, we will see it drastically changed, perhaps even lost if she is left unchecked."
"And most importantly... why should we be the ones exiled rather than Foxstar?" Rubyflame questioned. "I have no love for Foxstar, but Glowstar... I wouldn't be here, living this life, as messy as it's been," She turned and rested her tail against Fang a fond look on her face as she looked past him to Knightrunner the only one of their kits to stay. "I wouldn't trade it for anything."
"This is my home," Rubyflame went on, turning back to the others. "This is our home, and if we can house the regime underneath, and have allowed cats to come and go you can be certain we can handle splitting in two on this land if we must. But I won't give up the connections we have here, to DayClan, to our land, to our home."
"A new territory will be rife with dangers and risks, not to mention the journey." Knightrunner added stepping up a little awkwardly beside his mother. "We have young kits here," He said nodding towards Pumpkinking and Fallingleaves kits. "They'd be safer staying than risking untold dangers where we have to go to get to this new territory."
Lilacbane's tail drooped lowly to her side, curling it around her, crestfallen as her clan mates all agreed that this land was home. Her mother was very loyal to Glowstar though, always claiming she didn't understand outsiders well, maybe they were right. Especially because right now none of it made sense, this was Glowstar who had chose Foxstar, it was her stupid mistake. Still... Her green gaze moved to Snowcloak, her mother considered their love a stupid mistake, but it never felt that way to her, maybe Glowstar felt the same way about Foxstar.
"Understood," Whispyfeather said, dipping her head, "perhaps if disagreements wind up dividing the clan you can each claim half the territory, coexist peacefully, but live in the way you desire."
With that the StarClan cat faded away in a glisten of light followed by nothing.
Lilacbane turned to the rest of her clan mates, "I suppose we should just head back, StarClan's as useful as always," She retorted. The orange tabby started walking past everyone, but leaned her head up against Snowcloak, "I guess you were right about religion, it's just dumb," She said, knowing that he didn't phrase it like that, but that's how it felt.
When the clan arrived back to camp from White Tree they discovered that all their clan mates were gone, but the stench of two-leg was strong.
"THERE."
"YOU..."
"are!"
Leucisticcrow staggered over to the group huffing loudly before collapsing to the clearings floor. "UGH. WHERE WERE YOU!? I went to White Tree and EVERYTHING," he said, his exhausted voice coming out more like a squeak at the end. Given that his mother was Glowstar it was no surprise that he lacked the same running endurance she had.
"We walked back, where is everyone?" Tigerlily asked.
"These two-legs came in and took everyone away, I was looking all over for you to get help. They're trapped in two-leg place, but we can still help them," Leucisticcrow said, standing back up to his paws.
"I'm sorry, what?" Lilacbane asked in a horrified tone.
Snakeroothaven walked at Lilacbane's heel for the journey home. He was silent, but his watchful gaze never moved from the new leader. It was a curious proposal to have her lead. Unlike Rubyflame, he had no real attachment to their current territory, but if living here was the only way to start fresh, he wouldn't mind that either.
His ears perked as Leucisticccrow delivered the news, and then he grinned. "Hear that? StarClan cleared out the territory for you to rule over. Just like you asked for, Rubyflame," he mocked.
Divinefavor began to panic. It wasn't a normal type but the cold, frightening kind, where breathing was no longer automatic and every movement felt as if she was wading through chest-deep ice water. Constricted, trapped. DayClan's core principles all related to freedom of choice and expression. She'd chosen StarClan, but that did not mean that she had given up on those who did not.
She didn't stay anything but continued to grow more and more pale. Her eyes wavered slightly but otherwise she was completely still, running through multiple different scenarios in her head, none of which guaranteed she'd ever see the other half of the Clan ever again. Twoelgs were too unpredictable and there was no point in fighting them...
Leucisticcrow's ears flattened at Snakeroothaven's comment, but recovered quickly, "Listen, you're either in or out snakey bakey, so got on board or jump ship because I'm heading off. Well I'm heading off to the dumpster to get some of those McNuggets, but after I'm going straight to two-leg place to find them. If you're in follow me," He said, swishing his tail for the group to follow.
