Shadowbard, paced anxiously at the alter as he waited on the wedding to begin.
He had waited so long for this day, that the whole thing seemed rather unreal. He an Nikko had decided to have their wedding in DayClan, both for his own comfort and the beautiful scenery. It also meant that they were allowed to have guests from every clan, since DayClan was so open to outsiders coming to visit. Shadowbard had taken careful attention to his appearance, black paint eyeliner bringing out the best of his golden gaze, his fur silky soft and groomed to perfection. He had incorporated a mix of SunClan and DayClan traditions, using body paint, feathers, and flowers. After so long fighting for his mate's heart, he wanted today to be perfect. Absolutely perfect.
The area was decorated with flowers and ribbons, with careful attention to each of the tiny details. The food was ready. The guests were seated....

winterclan babes: "Isn't this exciting?? I've never seen Dayclan before" Oriolelei was picking up every flower on the way over as she was running late and needed to pick up the pace to make it on time. She had also secretly snuck out the neutral territories and near the borders of other clans but hadn't yet been daring enough to even walk on DayClan territory.
"Yeah I really should've left way earlier if i knew I was going to be stuck with just you." Scaredbreath half-joked and half-.. well she wasn't used the bright and upbeat clanmate yet."But I mean, thanks for staying with me and taking breaks" The queen wasn't fond of leaving territory anyways it felt so close to PI to even think of going here. But.. the work-a-holic hadn't been able to do anything since she was taken off warriors duties and needed a change of pace, plus DayClan was rather noble and female-empowered making it probably on her list of favorite clans, not that she would admit that to anyone.
"Huh, oh yeah, I need to stop and grab all these great flowers to throw and OH make flower crowns out of it's gonna be great - do you think they'll need a bouquet?" Oriolelei rambled as the queen just mentally face-palmed as they finally arrived to the party. Glancing around she stopping a another glancing cat with peculiar indigo-eyes and both immediately broke eye contact. She and her arranged mate just weren't on the same page anymore and nothing including either of them were exactly fixing that- but also what was he carrying?
Indigochill ignored the newst arrivals as he carried his own batch of fermented berries and tried to determine where or who to place/give them if there was a gift section or perhaps he might be stuck holding them until after the ceremony and gift them during the reception.
WINTERCLAN Of course Reapingpaw was in attendance, not because he was particularly supportive of the couple because he was hoping to confirm a suspicion he'd had regarding her sister, Gardeniapaw. The dark-furred tom stuck to the shadows and glared at anyone who looked like they may want to talk to him. He was on a mission.
DAYCLAN "Why aren't you looking sharp?" Yuccablossom purred to the groom, her sunny hazel eyes bright and sparkling, same as always. She loved weddings especially ones involving her family, not that she knew Shadowbard well at all but they were cousins so it counted, "You don't need to be so tense, Shadowbard. This is a safe space and it's your day. There's nothing to worry about, so relax and let loose a little bit, okay?" racer

Viatrix had never seen a wedding but, the moment she saw the flowers and the decorations and the meals and the flare in general, she had her heart set on the fact that she would have one soon and it would be way better than this one.
"Hmmm..." She looked around the crowd with a new mission. What better place was there to find a mate then during a wedding? She began to prowl around, looking for particularly handsome toms so that she would have equally handsome sons.
"I don't get why you're doing this," Nikkohydrangea said as he lifted his head higher as Mistyrose licked the last of his fur into place, "Besides I think he likes the ruggish look I have."
Mistyrose turned, picking out silvers, indigos, and stormy grey painted colors, "Your father and I met in prison and lived a simple life of doing nothing, but loving one another and stuffing our faces. But if I wasn't in prison and I got to have a wedding day I would want to look hot and get fat at my special day. You invited your father and I to a place where we can lounge around and eat as much lavish food as we want. I don't mind giving you a makeover in return, now stop squirming."
Mistyrose pinched Nikko's cheeks together to hold his face into place, occasionally moving him roughly, but after a few careful placed flowers and feathers she felt satisfied, "There, you actually look like you put in some effort."
"Do I at least look good?" Nikkohydrangea asked, feeling weighed down by everything decorating his pelt.
"You're my kid, of course you look good, Nikko. Don't say I never gave you anything," Mistyrose remarked before turning to leave.
"Wait, aren't you going to walk me down the aisle?" Nikkohydrangea asked with a smirk.
"If I walked every one of my kids down an aisle I'd be as thin as a stick. Walk it yourself," Mistyrose said, but offered him a rare smile before slipping out of the den.
Nikkohydrangea took a breath, hopefully he looked good, there was nowhere to check his reflection. Emerging out he was a very different cat, his already unique blue grey fur looked completely blue now. There was a mythical look about him, long silver feathers gliding down where his tail would normally show. The back of his ears were outlined in silver feathers as well and the stormy grey mixed with silver painted gorgeously light swirls along his pelt like the winter winds drawing circles in the snow. He looked breath takingly mythical and didn't have a clue.
He didn't look at Shadowbard, he found himself weirdly... Excited to be surprised by what Shadowbard looked like today, he didn't want it spoiled to him yet. So instead he walked to the front of the party for Shadowbard to take his place next to him.

“I’m not worried, I’m…” Shadowbard didn’t get to finish his sentence, looking up to see his mate approaching walking across the flower petals that had be strewn across the ground to set the mood. Nikko always looked great, but it was the first time he had seen his mate look like this. He wasn’t just handsome, he was stop you in your tracks and give you a heart attack gorgeous. His heart was pounding hard in chest, standing their with mouthy agape before clearing his throat awkwardly “excuse me” he tipped his head to Yuccablossom before striding over to greet his very soon to be husband.
The two of them took up their positions at the front of the aisle, silence falling over the gathered crowd. Shadowbard placed his paw on top of Nikkos gently, trying to resist the urge to kiss him right there and then “Nikko” he’s mewed softly so that the other cats couldn’t hear what he said next
"I know, that's literally why we're getting married," Nikkohydrangea reminded him, but his mind stalled for a moment, he should probably tell him something kind too. Something in Shadowbard's language, "Your butts extra cute today," Nikkohydrangea complimented, pushing his fur back with uncomfortable embarrassment, but was trying his best to toss a compliment that his future mate would like. However as a second passed he wasn't able to stand there any longer, "Alright, let's get this wedding ready!"
Mistyrose made her way between them to begin the ceremony, "Friends, family, hot pieces of booties," She began.
Nikkohydrangea could bury his face anywhere so instead opted to plummet his head into his paw at his moms comment about his awkward compliment.
"We're gathered here today to celebrate the love between Nikko and Shadow. Nikko, do you promise to love Shadow through sickness, health, and idiocy?"
"..." Nikkohydrangea fell silent, "Can we take out the last part?"
"You cannot rewrite the sacred promise," Misty Rose said with a firm nod, "The price of marriage."
There was a long string of silence from Nikkohydrangea before he finally spoke again, "Yeah, alright. But maybe on the acting like an idiot part."
"There are no may- Alright fine, do you take Shadow in sickness and in health?"
"Yes," Nikkohydrangea confirmed.
"Wonderful, and do you promise to love Nikko through sickness, health, and idiocy."
"Okay, now you're just making me look bad if he says yes to the idiot part and I didn't," Nikkohydrangea muttered.

Shadowbard wasn't embarrassed by his mate's comment, instead he was grinning from ear to ear, even as his soon to be mother and law commented on it
The blue tom straightened up now that it was his turn to speak, clearing his throat but was unable to hide the mischief in his eyes
"I promise. Through sickness and health. I promised to Always treasure our time together. I promise to Enjoy every moment. I promise to Include you on all my adventures I promise to to organize our nest when you leave it messy. I promised to try and Understand, even on the hardest of day.
I will always love you, and these are my wedding vowels to you"
"Wow, that was way longer than that ever needed to be," Mistyrose said before lifting her head up to address the crowd, "If anyone objects to this marriage, for instance because they both have blue grey fur, which is such a unique trait that they look like siblings in public and it makes everyone feel uncomfortable, please say so or forever hold your peace."
"That's weirdly specific," Nikkohydrangea whispered under his breath.
After a moment of silence Mistyrose spoke up again, "If no one objects to the marriage of Nikko and Shadow then you may exchange collars."
Nikkohydrangea was stuck on his words when he managed to mutter out collars when Mistyrose gently pushed forward two identical collars. Soft, thin willow branches were woven together in a perfect halo with a white gem in the center of the branches, "Just thought it would be something special, since you're WinterClan and feathers there might be a bit taboo." Mistyrose explained.
Nikkohydrangea lifted his up, but looked to Shadowbard first for approval that he liked the collar, "Should we?" He asked him.
Bloodyhearts's voice wasn't raised, just slightly louder than a usual conversational tone, but it carried plenty well enough given how hushed the crowd had become when he made his entrance. He stood in the shadow of the Wisteria Throne, careful not to put a single paw over the border between lighter and darkness, a hallowed, hungry expression on his face and dark rings beneath his eyes.
The former High Priests' fur was well-groomed but bare of any body paint or any other extravagant decorations he had formerly been known for, not even his trademark earring was present. The lack of distractions served to highlight the various scars sprinkled throughout his body from the many battles he had won and lost.
TLDR: He looked like the misunderstood bad boy you dreamed of dating during your emo phase.
"Nikkohydrangea is mine," The ginger-furred tom continued, his voice somehow deeper and sexier than it had been in the past, "It took me losing everything to realize I had misplaced my priorities from the very beginning."

Shadowbard smiled, picking up the collar carefully examining it. It was stunningly beautiful, the branches woven together so tightly, the unblemished gem at the center "Oh most definitely, it will only make us look that much hotter" he replied with a wink, lifting the delicate collar up and over Nikkohydrangea's head. He was starting the process to fasten it around his newly named husband's neck, when a voice rang out over the hushed crowd
His head turned, eyes landing on the all to familiar face of the former High Priest. Wasn't he supposed to be dead?
No absolutely not. This was their day and he wasn't about too allow the stubborn mouse brain to waltz in here and ruin it. Shadowbard finished the last snap of the collar, before answering "A little to late for that now Hot Head" he replied, wrapping his tail firmly around that of his husbands and staring down at the intruder "You had every chance to prove yourself worthy of Nikkohydrangea, and all you did was disappoint and break his heart. I have stood loyally by his side for all these moons, through thick and thin. I moved clans to be with him. Faced down cannibals for him. Was thrown in prison for him. Name one thing you have done for Nikkohydrangea that wasn't to your benefit. Just one...." he paused, giving the tom a moment to answer, as silence once again fell over the crowd
"That's right, you can't. Do you know why?" Shadowbard turned to his husband, refusing to let go "Because Bloody never loved you Nikkohydrangea, not in the way you deserve to be loved. This is OUR wedding day, Nikkohydrangea. This is OUR moment" he leaned in closer trying to get his mate's attention back onto him "Nikkohydrangea, are you even listening? Nikkohydrangea?"no, this wasn't happening. He wouldn't allow it, not now.
The blue tom placed his paws on either side of Nikkohydrangea's face, pulling him into a deep kiss. He wasn't going down without a fight
It was strange feeling. In the past if Bloodyhearts had been challenged like this, his blood would have boiled and he would have made sure to make the offender suffer. All Shadowbard's words did was make him smirk and flick his tail. They came across as embarrassingly cliche statements based on uninspired insults. In other words, uncool and pathetic. This was the guy that had captured Nikkohydrangea's attention? Really?!
But then Shadowbard went in for that kiss.
Bloodyhearts's hackles raised and a growl escaped him, but he was trapped in the shadows, unable to dig his claws into the back of Shadowbard's skull and rip flesh from muscle as his instincts told him to do.
"I see much of myself in you, Shadowbard," Bloodyhearts growled through gritted teeth, "Which isn't a compliment."

"We already did the whole, does anyone object bit," Mistyrose said to Bloodyheart's who she already predicted didn't care.
Nikkohydrangea didn't look in Bloodyheart's direction, he didn't need to. The voice was like a song caught up in his head. He was sure the melody was one he was addicted to or one that was so catchy despite all the rigid, polluted lyrics that he couldn't get it out of his mind. Despite himself he smiled to himself, because for the first time, it wasn't just a song in his head, it was playing out loud. Every bit of passion, love, even possessiveness he longed for sung out when before it was a tune only he had known.
Even as Shadowbard spoke he was pretty certain he would be content if Bloodyheart and him had a toxic relationship. Not that it would be good or that he would love it, but that Bloodyheart was addictive, no matter how bad he was for him he wanted more even if it put him in a worse place. He knew his nature, was comfortable with it even, but Shadowbard always wanted to save him. Looked at him in a way few had, like someone worth saving. For some unbelievable reason, Shadowbard loved him. Loved him despite that he would always love Bloodheart more, loved him despite all the trouble they got into. Maybe he was Shadowbard's addic-
it was probably a few seconds into the kiss before he was shifted out of his thoughts and into reality. Shadowbard loved affection that he was willing to give, but felt nothing for. But the moments before, when Shadowbard stood his ground for him, because he was worth fighting for, that was more sexy than any kiss.
"Thanks," Nikkohydrangea said after the kiss. Turning to Bloodyheart's he would be lying if he said he was interested to talk to him more. "Shadowbard has a point Bloody, this is our day. You might be right that I have affections for you. Ones that I've always been honest to Shadowbard about, but I wouldn't want to interrupt today for it. Unless you're only around for today, I'd make an exception for that."

"Through sickness, health, and idiocy - oh that's good. Orio, make sure you say that one day; I wish I had" the older female advised the contrasting she-cat who seemed star-stuck at both the communication and overall beauty of the wedding. Somewhere in the further background and on the other side, Indigochill was too far to hear her as he was actually quite engrossed in the wedding as well.
/ which is such a unique trait that they look like siblings in public and it makes everyone feel uncomfortable / Although it wasn't said out loud, a few of the WinterClan cats also felt this was weirdly specific and giving questionable glances tot hose around them, well except Oriolelei, she didn't hear or pay attention to any words that wasn't 'love' or gushy nonsense.
/ I object. / Murmuring this time even Oriolelei snapped out of it to look shocked and mildly horrified, Scaredbreath secretly enjoying the festive looking hostile and even a bit disgusted like she saw a mistake a much younger her would have very much so greatly regretted, and Indigochill... just and wanting to get back to the good time so they can all drink and eat already.
"Yeah!" Oriolelei cheered in support for Nikkohydrangea's decision to stay with his fiancé and probably would be clapping right now if her paws allowed it.
