Silverfringe had arranged a formal family dinner both litters of her children. She had taken extra time in the preparations, ensuring that everything was up to her standards. The food was prepared elegantly, the makeshift table of a fallen log decorated with glowing moss and flowers, the floor of the cave lined with soft feather and a twoleg blanket to ensure that everyone stayed comfortable and clean. She had asked everyone to attend tonight, and to get a little dressed up. Her paint was done immaculately, her long fur carefully groomed and curled into ringlets, nails sharpened and polished. Everything was perfect. Now all she needed was her family. The dinner was happening in the maze of tunnels that blocked SunClan's camp from the rest of the world so that it wouldn't be a far walk for the kits. She had had left her mate in charge of one thing and one thing only, brining the kits to the dinner... on time... It was probably a mistake, but only time would tell. They had been doing better about being more responsible for their kits, but it was the first time she had let them out of her eyesight since the kitting. They better not disappoint. Never being one to disappoint, Lacelily arrived before her father and siblings. She had a little farther to travel as she was now coming from the Janus camp, but she had taken extra time to groom her fluffy fur and make herself presentable. She didn't like to be unkempt anyways. On her arrival, the silver tabby noticed that Silverfringe anxiously waited by herself for her family. Only the sun god knew where the rest of them were it seemed. She sighed and smiled, "I'm here, mama!" Lacelily announced her presence with great enthusiasm.
Was Sorrowfularia going to disappoint their wife? Absolutely. And it wasn't even for lack of trying, really. Okay, maybe that was a lie, but they were trying to rush everyone still behind in camp to go to dinner. They intended to show up last, so at least if Silverfringe was mad... they could use their own kits as meatshields. That was totally okay, right?
Handsomeking was on time, at least. Well, close enough, because he arrived moments after Lacelily. Cherrypaw wasn't at his side though, which made him anxious. Usually, she never left him, when she had the chance. So being suddenly alone was disconcerting.

"Lacelily" Silverfringe beamed, bending down to nuzzle her daughter's cheek "How is your Janus training going? I do hope you are enjoying it so far. I want to hear all about it" she ushered her inside to where the spot she had prepared for her at the table was just as Handsomeking appeared "There is your brother, I need to greet him to" she purred, giving her daughter one last rasp over her ears before going to see Handomeking uniqcrim
"Handsomeking, just as I suspected. Early as usual" she seemed pleased, but she peered to one side of him then to the other "But where is your girl at? Cherrypaw, right? I liked her the last time that we met. You should have brought her along. I already made a place for her here as well" she purred, before realizing that he probably thought she wouldn't be welcomed at a family dinner "She is welcome to join us any time, once you are ready to introduce her" Honeystorm
"Oh god, she's going to kill me for not bringing her." Handsomeking didn't even think about what he said before he spoke, but the tom genuinely looked like he expected to be murdered. "Is it too late to go back? Maybe I'll be lucky and she'll just show." Half of his words were lost to murmuring to himself rather than actually speaking to his mom at this point.

Silverfringe chuckled, leaning forward and brushing the ruffled fur back into place “You can still fix this” she replied, moving backwards into the small space and placing a rose at his paws “There is still time before the dinner begins. Go and find her, give her this, and formally ask her to come to dinner to meet your parents. Tell her that you wanted it to be a surprise. We are already dressed for the occasion” b
Handsomeking didn't hesitate, grabbing the rose and turning to race as fast as he could away, well, without destroying the flower. Off to get Cherrypaw! Hopefully she came back with him.... Hopefully he came back.

Silverfringe sighed, before padding back over to her daughter "Your brother has a good heart, but he has his hands full with that girl" she chuckled taking a seat beside of Lacelily "But she is good for him. It is going to take someone strong to keep him in line and focused. She will make sure that he keeps up with his training and is involved in their relationship. What about you? Do you have your eye on anyone special?" uniqcrim

Lacelily purred softly at her assigned spot and watched the two with amusement. She sighed. They seemed so sweet and like they care so much for one another, she was almost a little bit jealous. He was practically tripping over his own paws in order to get out and find Cherrypaw. It was very endearing to her. Her brother was a softy. The silver tabby warmed and licked her chest a few times at her mother's embarrassing question, "I haven't had time to find anyone special. Learning how to be a Janus is very time consuming. I like it though! I've learned so many new and interesting things." In particular, she loved learning about the history of Sunclan. There was so much she still didn't know though.
"There's so much to learn sometimes I think my head might pop off!" Lacelily remarked with a chuckle.

The silver queen smiled kindly "Don't worry, there is the rest of your life ahead of you and you will never stopped learning. Even when you think you have mastered everything there is to learn, there will always be something new for you to discover. What is more important is that you enjoy your time learning, and take care of yourself. Don't push yourself to hard" Silverfring was known for being a perfectionist, but her daughter had enough pressure on her shoulders with her adding to her burden

She purred at her mothers words, feeling comforted by them. "I know you are right. I am just so impatient! Sometimes I wish it would just all flow into my brain by itself and I could live happily every after!" She laughed and grinned at her mother.

"If it worked that way, that would be nice" she agreed ,before looking at the entrance "Your father and siblings sure are late. I should have known" she let out a little sigh. As much as she loved Sorrowfularia he was also equally infuriating and was sure to get an earfull when he arrived. @lore @dot HoneystormNovaachromaticbiyuu ☆彡
Lifekit was most definitely the reason his father and siblings were late. He was late to everything and in turn caused everyone around him to also be late. He liked to do things at his own pace no matter how much it frustrated others. At the moment that meant the young tom was waking up from a very late afternoon nap. Only to complain that he was being rushed to dinner and stand at his father's side with a pout on his face.

Lightkit wasn't far behind. Despite his tenacious nature, he was a tentative kit...for now. He had always found the need to be completely certain and aware of everything around him before he could act on anything, and even in a family meal like this, he felt the need to listen first and speak later. Following after Lifekit, his ears perked up at the sight of his mother.

"Its about time!" Silverfringe marched to the entrance upon hearing their footsteps and ushering them inside "Sorrowfularia!!! " she called, only seeing the kits and not their father

Sorrowfularia, of course, cheerfully waltzed in, downright dragging Handsomeking with them. "Sorry I'm late! Our son couldn't find that Cherrypaw and seemed a bit frantic, I told him it was fine and he should probably get back here, but he didn't like that idea, so I had to get him to come along. I brought along everyone I could find, but it seems our kits can be even slipperier than me!"

Silverringe sighed shaking her head "So no sign of her?" she asked Handsomeking. She would have like the she-cat to join them, but he had been gone for a while now and if he hadn't found her yet he probably wasn't going to any time soon "you might as well stay, we can all search for her together later on" she walked over to her mate rubbing up against him, a little surprised that they had decided to show up at all...

Lacelily smiled as cats filled the area, bringing life to it. She knew this would make her mother very happy, and in turn that made the young cat happy. "Be sure to invite her next time!" She hadn't been able to interact much with Cherrypaw but it sounded like that was possibly her future sister-in-law which was exciting. "Hi Lifekit, hello Lightkit," She greeted the two kits warmly, leaving her parents to greet one another. She saw her father pretty often as they were both janus but still did not know how to feel about him.

With he son dealt with, Silverfringe intertwined her tail with Sorrowfularia's and guided him to the makeshift table she had prepared. She sat at the head of the table as her children took up their places, a warm purr rumbling in her throat as they all talked. She leaned in close to her mate "This is nice, All of us together like this" she pressed her nose to their cheek Honeystormachromatic @lore
