Some time had passed since the Rays had been sent out to the other clan's, but the time had come to hear their reports. She and Soaringlight had asked them to return to SunClan for the day for a meeting of the rays, a chance for them to check in on their progress and address any concerns that the rays might have. They would be arriving back at SunClan throughout the day, and would need to report to the High Priestess Den to make their reports before being allowed to return to their posts. It was also time to announce that Soaringlight would be going to visit them in their assigned clans, to ensure that nothing was amiss. JadiestardanceNovaHoneystorm
Soaringlight was actually really looking forward to managing the Ray program. Once she was out of Littlestar's watchful eyes, she could breath easy and more or less have a vacation visiting other peaceful Clans. She'd agreed to be strict and whatnot but she didn't really plan on it, "What time did you tell them to meet up with us, Littlestar?"

"Just before Sun High, since they are coming from different clans I wanted to give them each enough time to arrive" some of the Rays had quite the distance to travel which is why she rarely forced the rays to return back to SunClan. They would arriving whenever they were able to, most of the cats setting out at dawn from their given clans once the morning prayers were complete.
Before they could speak further the first of the Rays had arrived, nearly skidding into a wall "I'm not late right?" he replied with a sheepish smile at the two she-cats. Tangledcurls had been selected because of his good and hard working nature, so that he would better fit in amoungst the NightClan cats. He was still young and inexperienced, but his passion had made him a shining example of a Ray "Oh, I'm the first on here, well that is a relief" Jadie
"Not much of a surprise given that we share a border with your assignment," Soaringlight teased, motioning for Tangledcurls to take a seat next to her, "Although I've heard NightClan is nocturnal, so maybe it was harder for you to get here than it seems. Looks like you certainly didn't have time to groom yourself this morning, give the unruly state of your fur!"

"My fur always looks like this when it gets wet, and unfortunaly you can't get anywhere in NightClan without going for a swim so its not matter of grooming" he complained lightly, though he obviously wasn't to bothered by it. He had a very unique that resulted in his fur forming little ringlets when it was groomed out and allowed to air dry, but it also meant that it tangle incredibly easily...hence his name
"I knew NightClan had water, but I didn't know that they had that much water," Soaringlight replied, her surprise genuine. She'd only been to the border of NightClan before and it wasn't like there was much gossip about the secretive Clan available to her, "What's stopping them from building bridges or something? Other Clans have done it, it can't be too hard. It would certainly save your poor pelt and your body paint."

"The water is to fast and unpredictable when the rains start. You could build a bridge, but the next big rain it would just be washed away" he shrugged his shoulders "besides im not really in a position to be making suggestions anyway. The cats in NightClan are nice enough, but they are all suspicious of me. It doesn't help that I have to wear body paint all the time, because it just makes it even more apparent that I'm not one of them"
Soarlinglight thought it was a strange excuse, after all SunClan had had a couple different iterations of bridges, one of which lasted several generations before it was destroyed by a volcano. But she decided to let the topic go, Tangledcurls was right, it wasn't his place to suggest something like that and it certainly wouldn't do her any good to keep discussing it with him.
"Well, we may as well start the meeting. I don't think anyone else is coming," Soaringlight said, deciding to change subjects. She thought that at least her mother and father would have attended which annoyed her, but at least it meant she'd be obligated to go pay them a visit in the Regime, which wasn't such a bad gig, "Do you have anything more to report on the going-ons of NightClan?"

"Well.... There is a story going around NightClan, but the details are kind of fuzzy. Something about Aspenstar and a big fish?" he shrugged his shoulders "She gets angry anytime anyone mentions it, but I haven't figured out the full story yet. Also, NightClan cats don't know how to handle cactus juice very well...." the young tom was grinning, thinking about the time that he accidently gave all of the warriors and apprentices that visited him the intoxicating substance
Not exactly useful information, but Soaringlight figured it was better than northing. At least Tangledcruls actually showed up, which meant she could maybe drag something more out of him if she asked the right questions.
"Umm, thanks Tangledcurls. Do you have any information about, say, any special projects? Unusual patrol organizations? Strange scents?"
