Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. Kits to Apprentices "It is with great reverence that I, High Priestess, Littlestar, stand beneath our Great Protector today to help the next generation begin their journey in SunClan. As SunClan apprentices you must study meticulously, work hard, and make wise decision for your future. With his permission, it is now that I give our youth their new names"
"Your first step towards becoming a SunClan warrior will be deciding upon your first mentor. Take your time, and consider your options carefully. You may pick whomever you like to become your mentor, other than the Janus, Soothsayer, and Priestess. Each ceremony you will be allowed to switch mentors as you see fit. All current apprentices please step forwards and make your selections" [current apprentices can switch mentors at this time. All new apprentices tagged above must make a selection]
New Soothsayer Promised & Janus "Cats of SunClan, the day has come for our Great Protector to choose his new servants. For what we currently lack, he will provide. As you all know, we are in need for Soothsayer Promised and Janus. Some of our sharpest minds and strongest paws have been chosen to serve the Sun, and have nominated those who they believe to be worthy in their own right for future leadership. Let us not forget, however, that all in the clan are subject to consideration, for it is our mighty ruler who decides all. Janus, please step forward from the crowd with your nominee, so that your hearts and commitment may be judged."
Littlestar gazed down upon the Janus and the cats they had nominate for the open positions. She waited for a few moments, before the clouds opened up, a shaft of light beaming down up Nightfury(stardance ) and the kit they had selected for their nominee (uniqcrim )
"We thank the Sun God for blessing us with these cats. May they lead us well and bring honor and glory to Him. Nightfury from this day forward you will begin your studies under Paintercanyon as our Soothsayer Promised. ___(uniqcrim ) you have been selected to serve as SunClan's newest Janus. I give your full name here under the light of the Sun God. From this day forth you shall be known as ______ "

There was no doubt or hesitation on whom she wanted as her new mentor...it should have been obvious. After all he was the one who took her out of camp when she was a younger kit. Wickedpaw walked straight up to the Burntpheonix, once again right in his own personal bubble, sat down in front of him and pointed at the warrior. "Him. I want him to be my mentor!"
(I offer Mottledheart as a mentor if someone is struggling to come up with a mentor to choose :3)

Burntpheonix chuckled looking down at the newly named apprentice "How did I know that you would choose me? before he lowered his muzzle to touch her forehead with her nose. "Of course I would love to be your mentor" ashestoashes (Any of my cats can be mentors, but I will reply in character so XD)
Skipstep watched as a new janus was announced, eyes lighting up when it was revealed to be one of his grandchildren. His tail rising in delight. Finally an occasion of their kin joining the janus and it being a good thing!
Resilientbloom watched as the cats were promoted tail curled around her paws an unreadable expression on her face. She hoped the young janus did all right. At least she was going into it better prepared than she had.
(Resilientbloom, Tenebrousrequiem, and Goldengrace are all available to be mentors and I will also reply in character)

Asterpaw picked up his sunflower, after having been subjected to a quick grooming from his adoptive mother, and quickly headed towards the perfect mentor. He was big, strong, and very big. Probably the biggest cat he ever saw next to Slipperyslope! The dark tabby quickly made his way towards Crownedstag, puffing out his pelt and ruining all of Shadeflower’s hard work as he tried to make himself look just as big. He quickly dropped his sunflower at the tom’s paws and puffed out his chest.
“I want you to be my mentor!” The tom cat said quickly, before adding a softer, “Please” racer
Anxiety was clear in the tom's eyes; if there was one thing he didn't want to do, it was pick his own mentor. It wasn't a stretch to say that the tom was a little bit... rejection sensitive. But, it didn't seem like he had a choice. The tom, a little shaky on the draw, found himself padding towards Resilientbloom. He was drawn to her because of her nature; Freckledkit- well, now Freckledpaw, was fearful, anxious, always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Maybe the she-cat would provide him good advice on how to manage his fear. That was what she was known for, right? Resilience in the face of diversity? Letting out an awkward cough, he looked at her, and with the tiniest voice, the tom muttered, "Will you be my mentor?" Jetclaw

The newly named Lacelily stood stiff as a board, eyes wide as she was selected. This had certainly been a surprise. Was it a welcome one? Sure, why not. It would be an honor to be a Janus and join the mysterious band of cats. She was a part of them now. The kit thought she would be waiting seasons to hear her full name but not in this case. The silver tabby dipped her head in respectful acknowledgement, stunned into silence by the suddenness of it. She looked around for her mother, hoping that Silverfringe had been there to witness the moment. While scanning the crowd she did notice notice her grandfather's obvious delight. That certainly put a smile on her face.
Deliciatepaw had wasted no time and had been carefully deliberating who she wanted as a mentor for quite some time now. Truthfully, her first choice was Brightdawn. She had felt unusually comfortable chatting and painting with the she-cat, but comfort was not the goal here. It wouldn't benefit her to think like that. So instead, she had been watching and observing the warriors as they came and went. One cat had caught her eye in the way that he held himself and always seemed so sure of himself and what he was doing. That was the kind of warrior she was going to be so of course she should pick someone like that. With confidence, the siamese apprentice padded over and placed her flower in front of Silverdragon. She did not say anything like her fellow apprentices but instead watched his reaction with an intense blue-green gaze. Nova
Who to choose... who to choose... Wisteriapaw didn't have an inkling on who would be a half reasonable mentor. Should he pick the most interesting looking cat? Hmmm... he glanced at his adopted mother, Shadeflower, before carrying his flower over to a random cat. Any one would do, really. They'd all be able to teach the basics and that's all he needed. The cat in front of him was Lionpride, and Wisteriapaw thought he looked pretty cool with all that long fur and tall build. "Are you up for an apprentice?" He asked, relaxed and clearly enjoying his ceremony. racer
(Wasn't sure if any cats had apprentices so I just picked a couple I think would have stood out to my characters c:)
Resilientbloom blinked, startled when Freckledpaw came up to her and set his sunflower before her. She blinked, and then she let out a purr the white she cat nodding. "It would be my pleasure to be your mentor Freckledpaw." She assured the young cat.

Crownedstag looked down at the young cat whom had dropped their sunflower at his feet "I will take you as my apprentice, but you must promise to be dedicated to your training. I will require you to work hard, but you will learn a lot from me if you are ready to put in the effort" the shaggy black tom shook out his pelt, giving the cat a much needed smile to show that he wasn't as scary as most of the other cats saw him as "If you can promise me that, we will make a warrior out of you in no time" Nova
Silverfringe was beaming, as her daughters name was called to be Janus. She cheered her daughter's new name along with the others as she pushed her way through the crow, shoving anyone that stood between her and her daughter "LACELILY" she cheered leaning down and showering her daughter with affection "You are going to be an amazing Janus, just like you father" it was obvious that the silver queen was pleased with this turn of events "I'm so happy for you. Are you excited?" she babbled on, before turning and catching Sorrowfularia's gaze "Aren't you proud of our daughter?!?!" she purred warmly uniqcrimHoneystorm
Lionpride hadn't been expecting to be chosen as a mentor again so soon. His own son and apprentice had just been promoted to a warrior, so after he congratulated him and his other children "I am very proud of all of you. We have been through a lot together, and I hope that you all continue to work hard as SunClan warriors" he touched their noses FlurryofstarsNovastardancePhantom he was about to fade back into the crowd when the young cat approached him. He knew this was one of Shadeflowers kits, who probably had no idea that he and their mother used to be very close to one another "Very well, but we begin immediately. I have some errands to run out in the territory before nightfall so will start with that" uniqcrim
Sorrowfularia totally remembered they had a daughter named Lacelily. Yep. Hadn't forgotten the she-cat at all. Still, when Silverfringe turned to him, they flashed a cheeky smile, stepping up beside their mate with a purr and touching their nose to Lacelily's cheek. "Of course. Now I have an alibi next time I disappear." That was absolutely not what to say, but Silverfringe probably wouldn't kill them at this moment. The Janus would likely pay later, however.

Naturally, Lacelily pretended like the exchange hadn't happened. She knew her father was prone to disappearing acts and he had never truly been present with any of them. Despite all of that she loved him and adored her mother. The small she-kit stood as big as she possibly could, her white chest puffed out as far as it would go. She had no clue what her life would look like as a Janus but she was determined all the same. "I'm very excited! Kind of nervous. My paws are aweaty," Lacelily giggled and held up one tiny pad, spreading the toes as if to make a point. "I'll still come visit you as often as I can!" She purred. It would probably be a little lonely In the camp without her littermates or mother nearby. Since she was still so young it was all the apprentice knew. racer
Wisteriapaw hadn't been paying enough attention to even know the cat just finished mentoring. "Okay, sure. Sounds good." Out and about was better than being stuck in here for sure.
