Chaicrisp took a deep breath in, letting the summer scents fill her senses until she could no longer sip any in. Fallclan's moment of glory was in leaf-fall, but many took the summer for granted. The sunlight that streamed through thick canopies of leaves and branches dappled the ground with fun shapes and colors. It was truly mesmerizing.
Chaicrisp knew her patrol was probably looking for her. Either that or they had given up and figured she would catch up later. It was usual for her to have these moments of daydreaming. "I should probably go back." She sighed to the wind before beginning the search for her comrades.
Dewpaw could appreciate this season as much as any cat. The summer showers that brought her namesake weren’t as biting as they were in the other seasons, and life seemed to thrive from them. Dandelions grasped her dainty legs as she streamed past, but she had to arch her head high to look over the wild grasses, in search of Chaicrisp’s tabby coat. She had never exchanged words with her clanmate, but today was a fine a day as ever to do so, seeing as they shared a patrol for the first time. Her mentor had commanded her to search for the Warrior when she’d been gone for an extended period, just to be cautionary. Almost a Warrior grown herself, it was tiresome to still be ordered around, but she had complied without a complaint.
“Hey, Chaicrisp,” she called when she finally caught sight of her. She bounded over. “Whatchu doing?”
