Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. It's an unfortunate thing to lose your identity to something or someone that perhaps, just maybe, doesn't deserve the kind of dedication and time spent on them.
This, Silverpaw now understands, because it meant that he lost the one thing that all children, even those learning to be adults, deserve to hoard for themselves: their childhood.
The tom stared into the puddle he'd found and swirled a claw in it, making believe – as quietly and inconspicuously as he could – that there was a tiny fish swimming in the depths, that the puddle reached far lower than it appeared, that if he jumped in, instead of hitting the earth, he'd swim beneath the depths and come up in a new land where he could explore and stop time.
Of course, as this was all fantasy, none of that happened. Which left him sitting by his little puddle with his imagination soaring as high as he allowed it to in this moment, trying with all his might to ignore the anxiety of reality.
