It had been a long day, but well worth it. The summer solstice celebration had gone over well, and now Littlestar had an entirely different celebration to handle. Nestled at her side was five small kittens that she had just birthed. She had gone into labor during the summer solstice celebrations, forced to retire back to her den for most of the day. She had given reign of the celebration over to Soaringlight, Bravewolf, and Mountainsound. She had no reason to suspect that there would be any complications, so she delivered with only the help of her mate. It had gone smoothly and both mother and kits were doing well other than simply being tired from the ordeal. She leaned into Skipstep, fighting to keep her eyes from closing "Born on the Summer Solstice, I think I have a pattern.." before trailing off to sleep.
.................................................................................................. The following day, visitors were allowed to come and see the newborns. As was tradition, kittings were celebrated by showering the queens with gifts for the family and newborns, followed by announcing their kit's names to the rest of the clan. Kits were always a joyous occasion, but when the High Priestess or Janus gave birth there was always even more excitement surrounding the event. Littlestar had brought her newborns out of her den onto the area just outside of it to receive the visitors. She and Skipstep had awoken early that morning to discuss names for the little ones so that they could be announced at the prayers that morning. The path up the slope had been divided in two. One for guest ascending, and one side for guests descending to keep things flowing smoothly. [Anyone is welcome to reply <3] JetclawJadieHoneystorm @atomheart ashestoashesstardanceFlurryofstarsNova

Lilypool had heard the news and went out to catch fresh prey. It wasn't the most creative gift but one that would help the mother get some well needed energy. It took a short bit but since she got up early the Janus was able to nab two plump mice and a vole. More than enough for a ravenous new queen. Walking over the Janus dropped the gifts infront of Littlestar. "I hope these give you the strength you need and keep your own belly warm and full. Congratulations on your new family Littlestar." Lilypool dipped her head in respect. She had to admit the kits were really cute.
Nightfury followed shortly after Lilypool, bloodshot eyes and all. He spent most of the night designing his gift to the new kittens and parents, and he was quite proud of how they came out. He made little anklets with an engraved, red, orange, and yellow painted fire zodiac on one side. The dark tom saved space on the back of each anklet for the kits to customize with Littlestar and Skipstep. He carried those with a larger, heavier clay tablet meant for the parents. He had painted Skipstep and Littlestar on the tablet with the sun perfectly overhead: the day of the summer solstice. He dropped them at the new family's paws before dipping his head to the parents before examining the kits at a distance. "Day's good. Bless them." He stayed for a moment longer before walking back down the other slope.
The kits mewed softly as the tried to nestle into her long fur to find her milk. At this age they were completely blind, death, and dependent on her for everything. They didn't understand the importance of being presented to the clan, only that they were not nestled into their nest and their mother was being wiggly as she accepted the gifts given to them.
Littlestar gave a slight nod of her head, as one of the newest Janus approached her with her gift. It was a simple gift, but one that was appreciated all the more so after everything SunClan had been through. The clan had been on the brink of starvation, and only now was their stock of fresh kill slowly being replenished. Had it not been, she would have requested for the prey to be divided amongst whom needed it the most. She accepted the gift with grace, "Thank you Lilypool, may the Sun God continue to light your path" ashestoashes
As Nightfury approached she greeted him with a small smile, and dip of her head. Before recently she would have been suspicious of the stones that he presented for her kits to wear, but this time she fastened the anklets around their paws with no hesitation. They were light enough that the wouldn't hinder the newborns, but big enough that they wouln't look odd as they began to grow. They were beautifully painted, and she almost teared up as the last one was gently tied into place. It reminded her of something Sunnysmiles would have crafted for them. Yet his gift wasn't over, the tablet that he presented to tell the story of their birth. The tablet was also stunningly painted, her and skipsteps likeness glimmering on the smoothe stone. He paw brushed over the image gently, before looking up to the Janus "Thank you Nightfury" she could only hope that he was right, that this time her kits would be blessed. stardanceJetclaw
Skipstep purred when he saw the tablet, "He managed to capture your radiance well." He told Littlestar as he rasped his tongue over her ear as he watched over his family, before lifting his gaze to Nightfury. "Thank you Nightfury, this is a wonderful gift." He said.
He nodded to Lilypool, as Littlestar had said it best, the tom was too overcome with the emotion of being a father again with the most wonderful cat in all the clans. They'd clawed their way back to this and it felt like a triumph that they'd reclaimed their little slice of happiness and brought new life into the world again,
