Honeysplash purred and he jumped up on his back feet to head boop his new friend according to the bead match up. At least Naturalgift seemed pretty chilll and relaxed about things "DUDE" he chirpped cheerfully "How about we get out of here for a bit and blow off some steam?" Between helping Lionpride and his own kits, the little tom had been pretty much tied up in camp for moons. "Lets go on an adventure!!!" Flurryofstars

Naturalgift smiled at the tom’s enthusiasm, not finding the head boop invasive at all. If anything, it just reminded him of when his children were still kits. The fact that Honeysplash wasn’t nearly that young hardly mattered. “It’s been a while since I’ve been on an adventure...” he mused, recalling the most recent occasion where Anemoneshade and him nearly got crushed to death in the old ruins. It had been awful at the time, but now he could appreciate the experience a bit and he yearned for more excitement. “Sure. Why not.”

"Great it'll be nice to have another dude to hang out with, without a millions kits hanging off you. Let's hurry and get out of here before they notice I'm gone" even though they were all apprentices now, it hadn't eased his burden. It only meant that now all the kits could follow him out into the territory "Let's go explore all the new stuff the twolegs are building. Should be fun since they are not around at night!"

Naturalgift hummed in agreement, realizing that he didn't have a lot of close friends that were toms. This would be a nice change for the time being. "I don't come around the twoleg place much, so I'm not sure I'll be able to tell what's new," he said as they started off towards their destination. "Are you pretty familiar with it?"

"Unfortunately" he grimaced, his daughter had recently died because of an excursion there but no one would have been able to predict that she had such an extreme allergy to the food he had taken her. He just needed to avoid any twoleg scraps "but its a really interesting place. They are building something on the south side of our territory, but i'm not sure what it is just yet. There are a lot of monsters going in/out of there"

The other tom’s brief reaction to his question made Naturalgift cock his head, but he didn’t pry. It did make him curious though that if Honeysplash wasn’t entirely fond of the twoleg place, why he’d want to explore it for fun. “Alright,” he chirped, hoping to bring up the mood with some enthusiasm of his own. “Let’s go check it out then!”

To be honest this wasn't for fun, even though he made it seem that way. Honesystorm wanted to go investigate so that he could get a better idea of what was going on. After his daughter died as a result of the twolegs he always wanted to keep a close eye on their progress so that hopefully he could keep it from happening to any more of his clan-mates.
He raced ahead until the arrived at where the two-legs were building something. The land had been flattened, a shiny net keeping them out from were the monsters roared, tearing up the earth and placing it into piles.

Naturalgift didn't know what to make of the giant yellow monsters up ahead, but he was thankful for the net separating them. They were horribly loud and his nose scrunched up at the awful stench of gas that poured out of them. Even with his paws clamped tight over his ears, he didn't want to look away from them. They were terrifying and magnificent all at once and his blue eyes turned wide as saucers as he stared at them like a curious kit.
"This is crazy!" he shouted over the noise. "What do you think they're building?" What was it that twolegs ever built? He hardly knew.

"Who knows why twolegs do what they do" he stalked forward watching the monsters carefully "Good news is with all the noise they are marking, I doubt they will notice us" with the he began to wiggle under the netting "Come on, I want to know what they are doing"

“You’re going through there? Are you crazy!?” Naturalgift exclaimed. He was all for coming out here to check things out but to get closer than this to those gigantic monsters wasn’t something he was eager to commit to. “What if we get captured by twolegs or get crushed by something? It doesn’t exactly look safe, you know?” And Naturalgift would know. He had recent experience with almost being squished.

"That's a possibility" he replied, turning back to face the other tom "But I think the benefits outweighs the risks. What if one of our apprentices ends up getting lost in here and needs to be rescued? What if we can figure out what they are up to? We could potentially save a lot of lives. I understand if you are to afraid though, these monsters are really scary. I lost my daughter because of two-legs once. I just don't want any other parent to have to live through that pain "

Concern mixed with his fear, leaving him feeling confused. On one paw, this wasn't something he wanted to do at all. Having the ruins cave in on him was more than enough life or death experience he needed in a lifetime. On the other paw, he was a father. Anemoneshade had children of her own too and while their kits weren't kits anymore, Naturalgift would never stop being a parent. And he would likely mentor many apprentices in his days. He couldn't bear to think about any of them falling victim to the twolegs out here, especially when he could have taken measures to prevent it from happening. Any intel he could gather today might be worth it in the end if it meant saving a life down the road.
"Alright," he relented. "I don't have much of a choice, do I?" Without waiting for a response, the warrior ducked under the net and sidled up to Honeysplash. A strained but determined smile crossed his face as he turned to the tom expectantly.

There was a glimmer in his eyes and he slunk around the outside of the construction area. Watching the monsters carefully as they lifted and dumped the earth. It was loud enough to hurt his ears, but he wanted to at least get a lay of the land. At the center was a flat circle, he cautiously approached his paw touching the warm strange gray surface. But it was what was at the center that made him gasp.
A huge shiny creature rested there, its wings unfolded but unmoving. The sunlight catching on it's bright sales "Its the dragon"he whispered Flurryofstars

"The what?" Naturalgift asked, peering over the tom's shoulders. Weren't those like huge, fire monsters or something? He could barely remember from the tales he'd been told as kits but somehow he doubted he'd heard Honeysplash right. There was just no way something so small could be a dragon. Maybe he meant to say bird, but the more he stared at the creature the more he wondered if it was something stranger.

"The dragon" Honeystorm replied, staring wide eyes at the creature as it slept
"It looks like the twolegs have it in chains" almost without realizing it, he had begun to cautiously slink forward. One ear flicking back, as a twoleg passed by talking loudly to itself. He motioned towards the heavy chains tied to its, feet? He wasn't really sure what to call it

"Well, that's a... good thing, right?" Naturalgift asked, cocking his head. At least it meant that the 'dragon' wouldn't be able to reach them. He may as well be speaking to a wall though, with how Honeysplash started towards it. "Oh, nevermind. I guess we're walking to it. Of course we're walking to it." Sarcasm was only slightly present in his tone. Mostly, he was nervous and just filling the void with constant chatter.

Like if the twolegs are going to release it, and how much control they have over it" Honeysplash was nearly on the platform now, staring up at the beast that seemed to be sleeping soundly. The twolegs walked about it making a lot of noise, and seemed to be inspecting it's wings and feet "This is so strange"

Naturalgift hummed in agreement but it sounded weak even to him. As they got closer, the dragon seemed to get even bigger and he hated it. But he stood his ground. “I don’t understand,” he murmured. “How can the two-legs control something like that?”

"I guess the same way that they control monsters" he replied, the twolegs were climbing all over the dragon as he ducked down "What are the doing?!?!?! They are going to wake it up. Aren't they afraid it is going to eat them?"
