Brightdawn hadn't quite recovered from her injuries during the volcanic explosion, though she was no longer in critical condition. The burns on her paws were extensive but beginning to heal with no signs of infection, but she she still remained on strict nest rest until she had been cleared by the High Priestess. She had even begun to take a few tentative steps on her own, but the pain kept that down to a minimum. When she heard the announcements about the beads, she hadn't realized that she was going to get paired up with someone, much less a kit. She wasn't exactly sure what the two of them were going to do, but she was going to at least try and make it entertaining for the them.
She had asked her mate to get her some painting supplies some food in preparation for the visit when she heard little footsteps entering into the treatment den "You must be Delicatekit" uniqcrim

She still wasn't entirely sure what she was doing here. Something about beads and now she had to spend time with some random cat she hardly knew anything about. The kit knew the warriors name was Brightdawn but did not know much else. She didn't expect to find her in the medicine cat den either. Was something wrong with her? Was she sick? The siamese she-kit approached a little hesitantly. She was greeted rather brightly, as fitting the cats name she figured.
"You're Brightdawn, right?" She asked as she approached carefully, glancing around at the supplied littering the floor nearby. What exactly was all this stuff? Was she expected to do something while here? Oh well. Deliciatekit figured she didn't have anything better to do anyways than entertain the other kits in the nursery. What would one afternoon hurt.

"I am" she replied with a kind smile, motioning for the kit to come closer since she couldn't exactly move out of her nest "I know you must be a little disappointed to be paired with me and stuck in the treatment den, but I will try and make this fun for you. I am stuck in my nest for the time being" she replied with a purr "so if you get bored and want to go do something else, I understand completely. I would like the company though" The black and white she-cat looked over to the stuff that she had her mate bring up for her visitor "I had Tawnyowl bring us some food and paint. I thought maybe we could share some food and paint each other's fur?"

She had only really ever painted her own fur since she was old enough and Deliciatekit suddenly felt a little bit shy. It was different, suddenly being expected to socialize and get tk know a stranger. She had never really been shy before and always the socialite so the kit pushed those feelings aside and nodded. "Sure, I need a new coat of paint so it works out well." She came closer and gasped when she saw the she-cats paws. "What happened to your paws?" She asked, they looked extremely painful. It was a rude question but she couldn't help it, she'd never seen anything quite like it before

Brightdawn purred, happy that the young cat had agreed to keep her company. Even when she questioned about her paws, she didn't get upset. It was only naturally that she would be curious about the horrific wounds. She wasn't able to wrap them, so they were out in the open for her to see "I got these when I was trying to escape the ceremony springs There were guards keeping us from using the bridge, so I tried to swim across. However, the water was to hot, and it burned me"

The young kits eyes widened in shock, "Water can get that hot? That must have hurt. You must have been scared." She didn't fully understand what the warrior was talking about but it sounded like a great adventure and a lot of work. She hoped she never had to deal with something like that as a warrior.
"Can you still paint?" She asked hesitantly, looking at the painting supplies next to them.

"It was scary" Brightdawn agreed, "but my dad used to tell me that the only time you can be brave is when you are scared" she flicked her tail to brush against the young cat's shoulder with a big smile
"I can still paint with my nose" she purred, trying to change the subject to something a little more lighthearted, "But I apologize if my lines are shaky"

She shrugged and sniffed around the materials, trying to decide which one she wanted to use, "Mine are still shaky too," Deliciatekit admitted a little sheepishly. It was unlike her to admit that she was not perfect at something but the she-cat would figure it out eventually and besides, she was still a kit so that have her a pass, right?
"What color do you want? I can paint you first." It only seemed polite after all since she was the younger cat.

Brightdawn chuckled "Well my pelt is black, so yellows and oranges show up pretty well" she commented, shifting her position to make it slightly easier for the kit to reach the parts of her that were not injured "as far as designs, just paint what every you think will look good. I can surprise Tawnyowl with them when he gets back. Its been a while since he has seen me with my pelt painted" She lowered her head onto her nest so that Delicatekit would be able to reach her head if she wanted to.

She observed the she-cats pelt for a moment, thinking and planning her designer. She would probably use both colors to really make the design pop. She readied her tools and got to painting, slowly and quietly. Wow, her fur was so soft and nice. It was different from Deliciatekit's, she still mostly had kit fur. Would her fur be like thag eventually? Probably. Her tongue stuck out a bit as she put her full concentration, swirling and following the natural shape of the warrior. "Aand there, I think that looks okay. What do you think?" She asked, holding her head high and puffing her little chest out with pride at her work.

Brightdawn closed her eyes and purred as the little kit worked on her pelt. It felt nice to have some pampering every once in a while, and the gentle touches of the kit felt applying paint felt very relaxing. When she was finished, she lifted her head to examine the work "It is beautiful" she purred, "There is only one problem... It is to good. Tawnyowl is going to pass out when he sees it! So you might have to help me get him up off the floor"

She brightened and purred, "He's just going to be jealous," Deliciatekit giggled a bit, imaging the adult cat laying on the ground from surprise. "I'm really happy happy how it turned out. Maybe I'd better be a painter instead of a warrior," she mused. Wouldn't that be fantastic if she could do art all day instead of hunting and fighting! She knew better than that but it certainly would be nice. "Will you do my fur next?"

"Of course!" brightdawn dipped her nose into the paint, before shuffling awkwardly forward to reach the she-kits pelt. She started at her forhead drawing swirls that wound their way down her back and around her legs and tail like ribbons. Without her paws she was limited, but these simples lines she could do. She paused before lowering her muzzle to the she-kits face and extending the lines across her cheek and down to her chest to join a heart that she had drawn there "A little sloppy, but I hope you like it!"
