Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Blushing flashed a flirty grin up towards the kittypet tom that had been their company for the evening. "And here we are gem your humble abode awaits. This was a great evening, but while the moon is high I must be on my way." The cream and grey patched hunter stated as they brushed up against the tom. Planting a quick lick to the tom's cheek and along with a flirty wink. The young hunter headed towards the fence line. Slipping under the gap behind they walked down the side walk with little to no care in the world. Humming a small tune to themself as they went.
Bermondsey hadn't been back long. In fact, he hadn't planned on coming back at all. One could wish for a happy-ever-after, where he had finally gotten away, completely intact with the remainder of his family in tow, but luck was rarely on the side of a cursed one like himself. At least they were alive, he thought. There were worse things to be than alone again. He had never wanted kits in the first place, and in a way, wasn't this better? That he could be free to do as he wished now?
The tall cat was deep in thought, still prowling the edges of the city–neither a Primal Instinct cat nor an outsider–unaware of the she-cat heading his way until her melodic tune could be heard and his expression was once again as cold as steel. "Who goes there?" he spoke, a commanding tone to his voice, not quite fitting for a cat who didn't exactly belong in this territory.

A question interrupted Blushing’s happy little tune that they had been humming to themself. Annoyed by the interruption, but still relatively in a good mood from their evening adventures. They let out a deep frustrated sigh and sought out the cat in question. “Keep your claws on I’m Blushing” Blushing answered as they passed underneath a street light. Not seeing the cat in question. Their body language was relaxed but guarded.
“I guess the real question is who are you? Friend or Foe?”
Bermondsey was used to scouting an area–his initial reaction had been to climb something higher, to look upon the other cat without revealing himself. It was harder to do so without the thick cover of trees in Primal Instinct's old forest–his father had trained him mostly to leap from tree to tree, never touching the ground–but his long legs gave him an advantage in leaping up onto a low stone wall, his green eyes narrowed at the other cat.
They didn't look like a threat. No ambush would start with a cat humming a tune unless they were bait, but he knew better than to let his guard down just because someone didn't look dangerous; that was how he operated too. Lanky and thin, he rarely looked the part of a dangerous cat either.
"Let's just say I'll attack if you do," he replied smoothly, revealing his position as he sat regally, a tail curled across his paws, "back from a little excursion? I didn't know the suburbs were...so fascinating for a city cat."

“Who said I was a common city cat. You know I can enjoy the simple things in life. Like the company of the common folk to gain allies for later use.” Blushing replied glancing up at the tom that now sat high above their head. Still exhibiting relaxed body language their face contorted into a strange look. They still were displaying a friendly smile, but the level of threat had changed in the depths of their eyes.
“Now I do believe I introduced myself and I hate repeating myself. Who might you be? Friend or foe? I would really hate to have to chase you off of the League’s territory if your an enemy. I am in a fairly good mood at the moment and would hate to have it ruined because I had to use my claws. I might end up break a nail which would be a shame. So state your business and name.” Blushing spoke, and followed it up with a wide smile spreading from ear to ear.
(Idk I’m going with the idea they probably never met?? And Blushing has like 2 brain cells so they probably wouldn’t notice if someone new joined)
(yeah that’s fine! Bermy hasn’t been back to PI since years back so I’m having him drift into their territory so we can consider him as like, not yet joined maybe?)
His beady eyes held Blushing’s gaze evenly, contemplative of her answer. So this was what Primal Instinct was now? Parties and kittypets and cats that seemed to care more for their pampered lives than anything else. Bermondsey couldn’t say he was surprised; the city had its reputation for being...indulgent. This was nothing like the league he had left in his youth.
“The name is Bermondsey,” he spoke, standing up as he descended the higher wall with a certain grace unfitting of his lanky form, “I suppose I could be a threat if others wish me to be. My business is to see what’s happened to the crypt I once called home. The league has left the forest for the city and I suppose, left some kind of sense back in those blasted ruins, hm? My business is my own, but I’m only a threat if you raise a claw first. I’m here to....observe for now.”
He was standing on level ground with Blushing now, amusement in his gaze. “Though I suppose I never thought I’d hear a league cat complain about breaking a nail; that’s new. Were you born here or are you...new?”
"As I said prior my name is Blushing. The league used to live in the forest?? I've only ever known for them to live here, but I guess I was born here in the city and taken in as a small child. I don't know much about their past. Through probably many of them have been born here at this point. I don't talk to any of the older members many are grouchy and need to learn to live a little. Especially Freya she's scary, but I own her my life she found me as a starving kitten and taught me how to survive." Blushing spilling all of their life history, giving little care in the world about the personal information they was handing out to this strange. They were still rather young and naïve.

The cat must’ve been new, but Bermondsey certainly didn’t expect this. Surely, Blushing wouldn’t survive the league if she had been born during his mother’s reign. Even Safiya, sweet Safiya, had been smart enough to keep her mouth shut long enough to make her leave. This one didn’t seem to have any sense of that at all. How did the League ever hold its reign of terror over cats like this? He found himself baffled and torn between the desire to rebuild it in his mother’s name or to be glad that kits here wouldn’t have had to suffer the way they did then.
Still, his own wards were smarter than this cat; didn’t anyone ever tell her not to speak to strangers?
“I see,” he replied curtly, “and this Freya, she’s been here the longest?” He couldn’t remember a cat named Freya at all, but he had always lived separate lives to most when he had grown up here, “how you’ve survived this far baffles me, especially here.”
He didn’t mean to be rude, but Bermondsey often lacked tact. “Tell me, where can I find your core group? The nemesis perhaps? Surely you would know at least that, no?”

“I know Freya’s wasn’t born in the City like I was and she is a lot older than me. She takes strays under her wing and teaches them how to scrape by and survive. She once told me about a cat named Vera E’tani and that she left the league around that time. To be frank I’m not sure where the nemesis is located, but can bring you to where cats tend to gather. Someone there might know where the nemesis is.” Blushing answered and with the quick flick of their tail turned to walk in the direction of their destination.

He had been gone when Vera E'tani had taken over the league; his father had already gone mad by then, and most of his siblings had disappeared into the night throughout those years. Still, there wasn't a single thing about this cat that seemed like a threat, and Bermondsey followed without hesitation. At least there was still something akin to the camp, though he wondered whether he'd be welcomed there as easily. This cat seemed naive, perhaps a little slow on the uptake. The others? He wasn't sure he could say the same.
"So tell me, what has this Freya taught you so far then?" he prodded, "how to hunt? How to fight? Anything useful?"
There was one thing the tom had learned, and it was that any knowledge was useful, and it could come from anywhere, even cats he considered a little less clever.

"She taught me out how hunt. She did find me starving after all and rather ill from eating Twoleg garbage. The first thing she taught me was how to hunt a mouse. Which has become some of my favorite food. In return I showed her around the place. In the end I weaseled my way into the good graces of the League. Not sure why they keep me around. Freya did try to teach me how to fight, but I'm not really good and tend to talk myself out of situations. So far its worked out for me." Blushing replied while scanning the tops of the buildings. Looking for the familiar shape of the church. She was sure the building was around here somewhere.

He didn't really understand why they kept a cat like this around either, other than for...bait or something, but he didn't speak his thoughts, still humouring the young cat without a word. "So where's the best place to be around here anyway?" he spoke. Certainly, the landscape was different from what he was used to, but there were things that were all the same no matter where they were. Lookout spots. Hunting places. Fighting rings. Landmarks. Borders. Those things never changed.
"Where do you usually spend your time, other than playing around with kittypets?" he asked dryly, "I know nothing of the league's activity these days other than rumours, I suppose."

"Sometimes we hang around the church, but each district is spread out around the city. Once Mr. Funk E'tan allowed us to raid a twoleg building and we took a bunch of cool things from it, but that was awhile ago." Blushing replied trying to remember what the items were that they had taken. They remembered one of the items had looked shiny.
(Tbh I don't know much about PI since they've I think been moving around a bunch recently??)

(yeah same! no worries ahah)
"Districts?" he echoed, looking rather surprised. How long had he been gone? He didn't know what the other cat meant by districts; he assumed that the city was...laid out differently than the forest once was. He understood that things changed in different circumstances, but every change he discovered only served to add to a mounting frustration, that he was in fact new to a place that should've felt a little more like home.
"What kind of things were you seeking for?" he queried. After all, what did cats like them have a need for human things?

“Yeah the districts they help split up the jobs that need to be done to survive the city. For example some cats question prisoners, some handle the inner workings of the league and are also in charge of gathering prey. Then there are others like me survey cats in the city to see if they are deemed as a threat or a potential new member.” Blushing answered while still looking for the church. Deep down they started to believe they had went the wrong direction.
“Hmm I’m not sure what they are called but I’ve seen Twolegs use them from a distance. They are colorful like bird feathers, but feel like a leaf. I just saw some league mates messing with them I’m not sure what they did with them.”

Everything was too confusing really; things had changed so much since. Was everything about mysticism and strange collections of things now? Was everywhere like this? He had no idea, but he filed it all in his mind for future use. That would be something else to address later. So this cat was a scout. It made sense; how else would a cat like this survive here?
"So I'm the threat," he prompted dryly, "or the new member."
Where was this church anyway? "Weren't you supposed to bring me to your leader?" he frowned, "this looks...deserted. I don't think there's anything–"
Suddenly he stilled, ears twitching. shoot. He knew that sound anywhere. Dogs.
