Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Why did he have to be paired with a kit for this friendship festival bracelet thing? It wasn't that he didn't like them, they were just... so small, fragile and unpredictable. He didn't know how to talk with them much less interact in general. Yet, here Perfectstorm was, looking down on the tiny Freckledkit with a sort of confused, but gentle expression. He'd just have to do his best to be... friendly?
"Hi, Freckledkit..." He began tentatively, golden brown eyes sparkling slightly, "... What would you like to do today?"
The small tom resented the idea of hanging out with a warrior probably more than the tom resented hanging out with a kit. Freckledkit prefered solitude as much as possible; other cats were mean, and he wasn't that social. He had, in all honesty, hoped that this would be another event he could sit out and watch from the sidelines. The stars, it seemed, were not in his favor.
He blinked a few times, taking a nervous step back. "Wh-wh-what do you th-think we should do?" he meowed in his strange, quiet little voice as he shifted his weight.

Apricitykit was watching from her own nest, having not received a bead because of sneaking out during the ceremonies to investigate the painted tunnel. He mother had not been happy about that one bit, but it seemed as if her punishment was that she would have to wait until next time to get a bead. That was ok though, she would just find her OWN friends. Hearing how scared Freckledkit sounded, she rose quickly to her paws and made her way over to the pair of them "Don't be so scared Freckledkit, just tell him what YOU want to do. He may be a grown up but right now you have matching beads and he has to try and be nice"
"I am being nice," Perfectstorm corrected Apricitykit, booping her slightly on the head. He had a reputation for being a bit of a cold-hearted tom, but the way he was acting sure seemed to contradict that. Sure, he was a bit awkward, but he seemed genuine and at least trying to be friendly, "I might even be so nice that I'll let you tag along on whatever adventure Freckledkit here plans. I thought you may like to go and see the Boneyard today? You both seem big enough for the adventure."

"DO YOU MEAN IT?" Apricitykit gasped audibly, before quickly shutting her mouth "I mean... Uhm that sounds like fun!!" trying to hide her blunder. After all if either of her moms got wind of her going out again without permission she would grounded for like moons! But the chance to go to the Boneyard was far to much fun to pass up. "What do you think Freckledkit? Does the Bone Yard sound like fun to you?" This was his adventure after all, and she wasn't about to allow anyone to push him around, even herself.
"Now, Apricitykit, don't be too forceful. Maybe Freckledkit would rather do something in camp, like make clay animals or pain the walls. The Boneyard can be a dangerous place and any kit that goes must be fully prepared for the challenge," Perfectstorm said, giving Apricitykit a warning glance.

Apricitykit kit huffed, but sat own and wrapped her tail around her paws knowing that the older cat was right... Even if the boneyard did sound like WAAAAYYY more fun. @ian
Perfectstorm shrugged and fell silent, settling his eyes on Frecklekit, much like how Apricitykit was doing as well. The conversation had reached a point where everything hinged on what Frecklekit said next. It was a lot of pressure for any nervous nancy and it didn't help that Perfectstorm was making direct eye contact! @ian
Freckledkit looked pretty horrified to be the one to make the final decision, especially because the tom had never said a sentence in his life that didn't end as a question. Was this the time he was going to have to do that the first time? Shifting his weight, it seemed like it was. "Well, if we have a warrior ro protect us, it can't be that bad, right?" he asked nervously, his tail flicking.
"I'll do my best to keep you safe, but it means you two have to listen to me and stay close. I can't help you if you don't do that," Perfectstorm wasn't very worried about Freckledkit, but Apricitykit did make him a little nervous. She wasn't even supposed to be part of this event to begin with and had just thrown herself into it... there was no telling what kind of trouble she'd manage to get herself into at the Boneyard. Oh well, Perfectstorm was more than capable to look after a couple kits, a lot more confident about it in fact than he would let them know, "At any rate, we'd better get going while the Sun is still on our side. Let's go."
With that, the silver-furred tom began to pad away toward the main tunnel exit of camp.
(my next reply we will fast travel to the Boneyard)

Apricitykit squealed with excitement, jumping up on her paws and bounced up and and down "Its gonna be a lot of fun!! I heard a lot of storied about the boneyard. Momma said the bones are bigger than trees!!!!" of course this was an exaggeration, but she didn't know that "I wanna know what animal made bones that big. The must have been as big as mountains!!" she was bouncing around the warriors paws the whole way to the entrance. She tipped her head up when he said that they needed to listen "Don't worry! I'll be on my best behavvvvvioure" having no idea what it really meant, only that her mom had her say it whenever another cat watched them.
"W-why don't I believe that?" he asked her with narrowed eyes, the small tom absolutely terrified by how excitable the other cat was. Something bad was going to happen, he was almost sure of it, but what? He glanced over to the older cat, his eyes silently pleading : once we start this, she won't let us stop, so are you sure we shouldn't, i don't know, go collect leaves or something? Still, he padded alongside of her dutifully, even though his paw steps were anxious.
"Just around that corner is the Boneyard. There are three rules you need to follow: 1) Do not go down any tunnels, no matter how tempting, 2) Watch out for cactuses and 3) Never leave my line of sight. If you break any one of these rules, we go back to camp."
Since the kits would obviously agree, Perfectstorm nodded and padded froward, revealing quite the amazing sight ---
The boneyard brought back a lot of memories for Perfecstom. It was a common place for apprentices to hang out and he'd spent a lot of time here with Ferventprayer and Tranquilpaw while they were in training. He was of course much too big to climb up the bones anymore, but back then they'd all take turns sliding down the biggest ribcages, or playing extreme hide and seek or, well, any number of made up games.
He watched Freckledkit and Apricitykit's faces closely as their eyes first met the bones with a smile on his face.

Apricitykit nodded along as Perfectstorm laid out the rules for them... Tunnels, watch cactuses, and sight. Got it! Though she wasn't sure why he wanted them to watch cactuses, they didn't move very much or seem all that interesting. But adults were wierd, so she shrugged it off. Besides she was to excited to just be out here, that the words went over her head for the most part. She gazed up in wanted at the bones, already darting off slightly before he could finish, and trying to clamber up the bone unsuccessfully "If this is how big their bone, how big was the thing that killed them?"

Perfectstorm put his head beneath Apricitykit's hind paws and boosted her up to the top of the bone she was trying to climb, "Legends say that the Boneyard is where the Sun God would leave the bones of his enemies over the eons. As you know, every few hundred years or so the Sun God takes on a new face and form, so it's not a big stretch to imagine at one point in time was bigger than these creatures."

"Eeeek" the young she-kit squealed as she was lifted up upon the bone by the older warrior. Her little claws scrambling for a grip as she found her balance on top of it "I can see everything from here" she gasped loudly. At least for the moment, the sheer height of the bone keeping her out of trouble "Why are the clouds black over there" she pointed in the direction of the volcano. Her paw scrambling to keep herself up on the bone
She looked over at Freckledkit "Come on up, you need to see this!!" @ian
Freckledkit looked uncertain at first, but before long, he couldn't help but let his eyes widen in wonder. "What is this place?" he asked, more to himself than anyone else, before he padded over to where Apricitykit had climbed up. He scrambled up besides her, a little less than elegantly, before looking out. He glanced in the direction of the clouds, his brow furrowing. From the ground, it wasn't nearly as easy to see, but from this vantage point, the sky was rather dark. "Do you think that's a bad sign? What if that's how the Sun God took care of things this big? What if he smoked them out? Are we getting smoked out?"
pretend he has a stutter in this one I genuinely cannot be bothered to type with a stutter today LOL
"Dark clouds?" Perfectstorm couldn't see them from where he stood nor did he risk climbing up with the kits to get a good view of it. He had a pretty good guess of what was going on anyway, "That's the volcano's breath. The Sun God keeps it at bay so it's really nothing you need to worry about, especially since I'm here to keep you both safe."
He was acting pretty calm but in truth was unnerved. The skies above the volcano were not always dark and it did bode an ill omen in his opinion. Still, the boneyard was a relatively safe place to be and it was easy to reach higher ground if they needed to do it. In other words, Perfecstorm still had the situation under control.
"How about you climb up a little higher then slide down this bone here? It's a lot of fun - I remember doing it when I was a kit!"
